Satoshi9801 Not quite true. First, there wasn't all that much to the NY anime market beyond Pokemon (which she is moreorless blackboxed from). Second, there is actually a recording studio with locations in both NY and LA that allows for bi-coastal dubs. It's called NYAV Post, and it previously reunited most of the core Slayers cast back in 2010 for the 2 new series releases by FUNimation. The new MB VoiceWorks studio over on the east coast has similarly bridged gaps with Hunter x Hunter. If anything, Taylor is in prime position, especially since she and Rachael Lillis are once more in close proximity to each other.
The Dead Scream attack was so awesome because of how....deadpan the attack is delivered despite the name. It's a shame in the English dub they still screamed the attack.

Olivia Garry Originally when 4Kids Entertainment did it she voiced Ash. If you overlook 4Kids other dubs and the early episodes of it Pokemon is pretty close to the original Japanese version. Compare the current dub of Pokemon to when 4Kids Entertainment did it which was up to the end of Pokemon Advance Battle which at the beginning of Battle Frontier the current dub started and you'll see the difference in quality.

I was scared that she was going to sound like Ash from Pokemon or Kurai from Angel Sanctuary. Just like how Johnny Young Bostch, and many others do for their roles. I don't blame them, there is only so many different voices you can do. However, Veronica did a great job.

+Dani Lang Agreed. Veronica Taylor is one of the most under-rated voice actors in the industry. She shined even when voicing a lot of the garbage anime CPM picked up back in the 90s and early 2000s. Here's hoping her move to LA will allow her to expand her career beyond the anime scene (the same way it did for Crispin Freeman).
Honestly, if not for this video, I wouldn't have known Pluto Star Power and Pluto Planet Power in English had different voice actresses. Also, I like all these actresses~ Not equally, but it's a small margin between which ones I like. It is kind of bad that they used Luna's voice for Pluto in Luna-P, but the dubbers may not have known that the Luna-P wasn't supposed to sound like Luna, so I can accept that.
For Japanese, I'd say Chiyoko has such an iconic voice it is hard to compete. Ai Madea sounds great. For English, Veronica's is the best, followed closely by Sabrina. Susan's voice is fine, but it sounds off for Pluto. As bad as the material Susan was given to work with, her voice does sound best when shouting or being commanding. Her soft, indoors voice is just not right for the character.

Like I'm in shock they even let her do the voice. And Sabrina Grdevich...she just confuses me. She doesn't sound half half bad in R, but in the movies she suddenly goes to screaming all her lines and it sounds terrible. Veronica Taylor however.....omg. She's amazing. I think she's my favourite voice in the Viz dub so far. She KILLS it! What a perfect voice for Pluto.

You got the wrong Ai Maeda for SM Crystal, its the "old Ai Maeda/AiM", she did Mimi in Digimon Adventure and many songs for all 4 seasons and Karen Minazuki from the Precure franchise, not the "young Ai Maeda"
I think Jill as Pluto was a casting mistake on DiC's part, like an honest mistake because they saw Luna-P and thought, "Oh, okay, so whoever's in there should clearly have Luna's voice." And then when they wound up dubbing the rest of R later, they realized that Sailor Pluto was actually the one speaking out of that thing and recast her accordingly. Sabrina wasn't bad in her initial appearances as Pluto in R. She sounded mysterious, cool, and a bit threatening. I liked her. The strange effect on her voice was a little weird, but eh. Susan was... yeah. She sounded like an average 16-year-old girl. Not an older, more mysterious woman. Even without the shitty CWI script, I just felt her voice was really off. Too young and chirpy for the character. Veronica was perfect. Full stop.
Sabrina and Susan for me... Sabrina has such strength and power in her yells, it's a literal deadly scream, if Sailor Moon is "Girl Power" Sabrina's Pluto is "Woman Power". While Susan has a sort of mature perky aunt quality about her, very motherly. Veronica Taylor's Deadly Scream doesn't do much for me... it just feels they used the first take and didn't bother to do more telling the VA "not to worry about it"...

I think Jill as Pluto was a casting mistake on DiC's part, like an honest mistake because they saw Luna-P and thought, "Oh, okay, so whoever's in there should clearly have Luna's voice." And then when they wound up dubbing the rest of R later, they realized that Sailor Pluto was actually the one speaking out of that thing and recast her accordingly.
Sabrina wasn't bad in her initial appearances as Pluto in R. She sounded mysterious, cool, and a bit threatening. I liked her. The strange effect on her voice was a little weird, but eh.
Susan was... yeah. She sounded like an average 16-year-old girl. Not an older, more mysterious woman. Even without the shitty CWI script, I just felt her voice was really off. Too young and chirpy for the character.
Veronica was perfect. Full stop.

Sabrina and Susan for me... Sabrina has such strength and power in her yells, it's a literal deadly scream, if Sailor Moon is "Girl Power" Sabrina's Pluto is "Woman Power". While Susan has a sort of mature perky aunt quality about her, very motherly. Veronica Taylor's Deadly Scream doesn't do much for me... it just feels they used the first take and didn't bother to do more telling the VA "not to worry about it"...
Finally! Pluto has a mature English voice. Took long enough. The old American voices were crap, she sounded like a teen.

Has Veronica Taylor improved? Well, she's no longer a 4Kids actor. I would say yes.
No offense but in my opinion she still just as good as when 4Kids was around. If it wasn't for 4Kids we might have not gotten the Pokemon Anime.
She wasn't always for 4Kids. She also worked with Central Park Media and Media Blasters during her time in NYC.
