I just graduated and have been cutting in a barbershop for the last 3 weeks. This is a complete difference!!! Having a problem with clipper over comb led me to your video. Every thing is so new to me. And I wasn’t cutting hair before going to school this year. So, I’m starting from ground zero.
Sean, is a professional, effective, creative Barber Artist. His voice is smooth, clear and has a great tone for teaching. Passionate about his work! Thank you, Sean
I love that you put a little legend on the bottom left corner With guard sizes and that it’s color coded. Even tho there’s music playing. I know what you’re doing. 🧠!! Awesome!!
Another great video Sean. I definitely feel what you're saying in regards to pricing. I'm a current barber student, and we have this conversation alot. My barber recently raised his price a few months back, and I could feel the hesitation in his voice when he was telling me. I jus told him, I completely understand man you don't need to explain or justify anything to me. Hes been a well known barber in my area, he has a large clientele and his cuts are consistently top notch. Unfortunately there are still those people that don't realize that quality service and price go hand in hand. It would suck to lose clients, but the ones that understand..will understand. Keep the videos coming
Currently going to campbellsville barber school in Somerset ky, your videos have made life so much easier and I’m only at 180 hours! Thank you for all your help hoping to rock a Sean cut one day !
yess!! what we've been asking for! So many good nuggets here. TY. How about using the thinning shears especially on the sides to blend the sides into the top?
You can do that just be careful you don’t want a bunch of short hairs mixed in there it will cause the hair to spring out. Just hit the ends to help it blend better
Bro I’m not a Barber but since I just turned 40 I started to grow a beard and have bought every TPOB clippers Trimmers etc. I watch your videos religiously just cuz you explain everything perfectly. To me anyways. Just wanna say thanks, I’ve actually learned a lot just from Most of your videos. Is there a video of any type of tips n tricks for Beard UpKeep like with Trimmers or Clippers? ✌️
I need to know how to send you tips for all of your help. I’ve spent a lot of time watching your videos and I really really appreciate you for doing them.
The price of a haircut was what stopped me from becoming a barber in the past. With these new prices 30-60 bucks (depends on the barber & area) I may actually make a career change. I mainly cut friends & family for free now just because I love cutting hair. I have a high paying 9-5 job that I hate but I'd love to take on being a barber full time as long as I can make good money. It's art so why shouldn't barbers get paid good for their services?
Hey Miguel, depending on were you're from you could consider following a career change training to get barber proper training. Or considering using this time for business development. Puting on paper expenses, taxes, rent, expected incomes. Taking into account some launch risk (not fully booked). Once you get those numbers, you'll be have enough information and the jump out from one career path to the other will be less scary. Also take into account working hours. I'm in a similar position I think, but my job allows me free time that I wouldn't have as a barber. Or at least free time that fits schedule
Go for it life to short to be doing a job you hate fr…you meet so many dope ppl being a barber and the money is great…most investments I make I can get the money back in a couple cuts 💯
@@jamesbates5552 I'm at about 90k annually now plus great benefits. It's hard to walk away from the job security. Maybe I'll start out part-time on the side & go from there cuz I love cutn. Plus like you said, I like the bonds you build.
@@miggyslice Bossio recently made a short on this talking abt how he worked in the shop on Sundays and cut down to part time to work more throughout the week before he quit his 9-5.
I remember one of the barber videos I saw suggesting using a #1 guard as a safety till you got use to clipper/comb. Believe it or not, another barber channel does clipper/comb on damp/wet hair! All with clipper closed: no guard.
Hi Sean, I was wondering if you had the exact name to what color guards you have and do you recommend the magic clip ?because I really do want the senior, but I don’t have the money for it but I do have the money for the magics. It would really help if you respond 😃
So my instructor is the master of clipper over comb ima do a video of how he taught us you keep the comb moving as you make the cut and it doesn’t put a line but you have to cut the direction the hair is coming but always keep the comb moving and doing the top is similar to how we do it with shears but just with the clipper and comb
RUclips is sleepin on your channel bro. Your work is killer. What are the combs you use? I also typically see you using a black comb with holes on the spine? Just curious what you suggest
Broo ! Can you pleaase name me a comb that is similar to your utsumi comb that is available here in germany ?? Maybe the BW carbon 299 flat top it looks very similar on the picture but i dont know.. you would help me a lot !! Greetings✌🏼
As a barber I cut my own hair. However I would pay the premium price for a barber of your caliber for the experience. I think that’s what people take for granted.
In Every Industry Prices go up. Inflation has Quadrupled in this past year. Rent has sky rocketed. Utilities sky rocketed. The prices of all things. Barber Instruments also are high in Prices. Barbers need to pay rent and utilities just like everyone else. Hence the price raise in haircuts

What is the name of the white comb?
Utsumi 299

@@Seancutshair Agreed. And while I'm doubtful of pulling off the perfect taper with my Wahl clipper set; at least I can do a great clean up
Somewhat a new barber did he make the guide line with the clipper open or closed ?
Open!
Where can i get that white clipper comb fam
Google Utsumi USA
Bro i have a question , would you use clipper over comb for a low fade with long hair from tap and back of the head? or you just do it with scissors?
I would probably just use scissors
Nice cut, what was your price and what did you go up to?
I was at $40 and $50 went to straight $60 across the board
Thank you broski

I just started using martyblendz guards but I’m not sure he sells the mixed pack. I have a set on my Amazon list in the description as well 👌🏻
@@Seancutshair What about the magic clips? Do you recommend those?
