Is this what my life has come to? Lighter reviews?
Why fuck did i watch this, I've litterly refilled my clippers dozens of times. Y
this made me focus
🤣
Loll haha 😄
Am glad I wasn't the only one who thought of this
“Get down in a candle” yup that’s what we’re here for we’re all part of a church choir
dude u cracking me up xD
he sorta meagerly acknowledges the fact it’s used for smoking too later 😂😂😂
This is funny as hell 😂😂
@@avacadomangobanana2588 yeah this guy smokes cigars pretty sure he doesnt smoke weed though.
@@joshuafurlong5270 he used to. he has a video talking about it
Cant believe you didnt mention that the flint rod was made to double as a joint packer. Was specifically designed with pothead in mind 😅
Even shows you how to on the raw lights on the sticker lol
😂😂😂 can’t do without my spinney thing
100% been doing it for years and never will let you down if I roll bigger spliffs i turn it around and use the star thumbgrip as a packer!
Pokeys lol 😚👌💨
@@hayleyjoanne9922 Where I'm from it's called a pokey bit or pokey stick, also flint wheel used to be round. A true stoner multitool.
I have a old clipper given to me by a old hippy in the nineties he had been using it since the seventies, Ol Toot has passed on now but that lighter still brings a smile when I break it out on those rare occasions.
A clipper actually fits perfectly inside of a 410 shell casing!
My friends and I would scour the farmers fields looking for different ones so we could personalise our clippers when I was about 13 maybe 14 yrs old. I would burn a hole in the casing and attach a small metal ring to it, then make a rope for it so I could hang it round my neck so nobody could 'accidentally' pocket it. Looked pretty dope too, well for a 14 year old metal head anyway, haha!
It's a 12 bore cartridge that they fit into , I remember first seeing one that was in a cartridge belt being worn by some Scottish punk bloke called Tommy ( hello Tommy if your reading this !) ( you never know !)
Yea me and our group of rebels also used to hunt through corn fields searching for the shell case's whilst praying that the farmer never came out taking warning shots at us all lol
Also we would collect the different coloured pokey ends that were used to poke down a doobie at one end for the roach to fit 😜 Ahh the life of a doobie lover growing up
Definitely a 12 bore not a 410 gauge.
Lol same here with 12 bore cartridges at the clay pigeon shoot
Thats so badass, Im going to do this. -a young metalhead
Clipper vs. Bic - who cares... they're both miles better than the flipping see through freebie crackhead lighters.
Bic makes those see through lighters.
The clipper is reusable so its friendly to the environment, less plastic waist. It can be used to stop a wasp entering a bottle and when on the piss let's you know your beer bottle you are drinking from when you come back from having a piss. Its got lots of other uses as well
@@mikepants35 Maybe some of them. Ace brand disposables are from Zippo, king brand are from scripto. Most of the other brands that I have double checked are from scripto.
Needless to say, a standard bic lighter is far superior any of the seethrough plastic versions. Not just because they don't break as much, and are longer lasting. But because you can use just some car keys to easily pop out the child safety feature. The transparent lighters use a double wheel system for safety that always is more annoying.
@@blacksheep6888 good idea that. Will do that when the beer Gardens open uk
@@davenufc55 cheers mate from Australia.🍺
Clippers will always be the best lighters, at least for smokers. The fact I can collect the designs and reuse them is one thing, but that removable tool is perfect for packing down bowls or joints. Not to mention the flint.. it’s everything you want from a professional lighter that you plan to keep with you forever but still cheap enough to throw out and replace in a second
The collectable aspect along with the tool do make them an essential part of a stoners toolkit, no doubt! Only bad point is that they tend to go missing. A lot. And the cooler or rarer the design the higher the chance of them accidentally on purpose ending up in one of your mate's pockets by the end of the evening right?! Haha! We have all had it happen to us at some point and we've all 'accidentally' done it ourselves... it's the curse of the clipper, the stoner's affliction 😉😂😂😂🤘
@@stoojona1402 Clippers have no owner, they travel as they please
I'm pretty sure these lighters were made specifically for 4:20
Djeeps are pretty good too. Also tend to grow legs, but easier to spot your thieving buddy using it.
Jeff Jeff Jeff you forgot the most important part! Long ago I never could understand why I couldn’t get my refillable lights to fill up.
No matter how big a butane bottle I used or how new it was I could only get any lighter to fill about less than half. I finally found out that right before you refill a lighter you have to push the fill valve down to release the gas pressure left in the lighter . Then your lighter will fill completely up. Thanks for the videos
Get up the good work!
nice tip
If you also release presure a bit after filling you can fill it up even more
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH geez you just saved me probably hundreds
You don't even have to do that just hold in hand and press gas in 3 times fills every time
this comment was infinitely more helpful than the entire eight minute waste of time i just endured.

Ah yes the pothead’s favorite brand of lighter. Even my friend said clipper is better.
Awesome review, I love Clippers. Just a small tip, you should not shake your butane canister. You want the butane to settle to the bottom, you don't want the propellant to mix with the butane when you refill. Turn it upside down, wait a second and fill.
The first clipper I got was the raw clipper you have. I turned it over to light my bowl and the flame shot out and burned my mustache. Great bowl rip tho 😆

Probably the best lighters I've ever used, I bought a cheap "disposable" Clipper in Paris a few years back, still have it now. I later bought a metal Clipper lighter and it's my go to favourite lighter. Maybe not the coolest lighter in the world but super simple, compact and reliable.
Legalize it 🌱
Opium?
It is..
It is. Almost everywhere in the us now. Also, I used to be a complete pothead. If you smoke so much that you can't work, it's too much. You can become addicted to the weed. Psychologically, not physically. But still. It can become a problem if you are running away from somthing. Conciously or not.
It’s not “legal”. It’s a monopoly!! I enjoyed it more when it was illega.
Don’t forget to renew you card yearly for $300 and get robbed with the damn dispensary prices. It’s Total extortion racket! Plant your own seeds. Weed grow like weeds.
@@aaronblair9583 it's only a problem if you can't stop yourself from smoking too much it's just like fast food lol
I love clippers specifically for that reason. They're refillable and also you can change change the flint and you can use the flint shaft as a poker

Thank you so much! My boyfriend and myself bought a couple of these lighters a few months ago. And didn't know how to change the flints. You solved our issue and our clipper is back up n running! You rock!
Here I thought when you pulled the flint out you were gonna say that piece was a bowl poker !!

It's nice that he chose to be very polite and genuine in his apreciation of this Lighter, (which most stoneheads use) plus it's also amazing that he wanted to share a delicate moment of his life with this Audience , I think that's very Brave and I get it when he says that's almost like keeping him present, It's Kind.
Clippers are great for all the reasons you mention and my go-to lighter for EDC, I smoke so always have at least one on me. Also they come in smaller sizes (at least here in the UK) and these are great for keeping in coin pockets if you want to go ultralight, or for throwing in pouches and bags as backups if you are hiking or camping. Having said that, the best type of lighter to have in a survival kit, which you don't use and save for emergencies, is the Bic, because these are filled up in a factory under pressure and sealed and hold far much more gas than you can get in any refillable lighter. I had a full size Bic which I used every day a lot and it lasted me over 6 months.
I've always preferred the way these look compared to Bic
But I've never owned one.
And I had no idea they were refillable.
Thank you for a great review.
Now the 2 of us is gona by clippers so we can refuel them. Bic can also be refueled but BUT theres like a small plastic ball that you press in from the lighters bottom side. Then you can refill and another BUT. You must be able to immediately seal the hole you used to refill as it doesnt have a valve on the bic lighters.
A clipper also has the straight edge to scrape/collect substances off the table when rolling. The bottom of the clipper also fits perfectly on glass bottles to keep insects out and keep it carbonated for longer.
I absolutely use the first tip, but the second was new to me. Definitely handy, thanks.
I have an $8 fuel bottle (maybe 1.5x the size of your bottle there) and have refilled my clipper (and other lighters but clipper is my EDC) at least 15 times and there is still about half the can left. It really is great. I love that you got the point about how when you light a bowl it gives you a bit of extra flame AND the star shaped wheel!
Idk if that was an intended design, but just gravity and liquid being pushed out instead of gas, so you have more butane, as seen by big flame. I'd be care smoking like that thought. Butane ain't good to inhale. And you do inhale it quite frequently.
Clippers are pretty good, i use them for spare lighters scattered throughout all my bags and coats, but, mostly for sentimental reasons, i still prefer my old zippo for a primary lighter.
So glad to see that I'm not the only person with a graveyard of lighters that no longer work because they have very specific sentimental memories to me. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 we're not crazy! Lol
Wow I legitimately always thought these were disposable! Thanks so much Jeff!
If you have excessive earwax buildup, the screw end of the flint housing is the perfect size to dislodge it without risking damage to your eardrum.
I bought it specifically because it was refillable and I'm tired of paying two plus dollars on a bic every week or two. But I didn't know about the replaceable flint, which is pretty ingenious. Thanks for the info. 👍🏻
Everybody I know that owns one of those knows that if I'm not mistaken even tells you on the package when you buy one. Okay well it doesn't tell you you can use it as a bowl packer but it does tell you that you can remove it and replace the Flint and if you can't figure out that it can be used as a bowl packer you probably don't smoke a bowl. I own several of these clipper lighters but for some reason I still go back to my Bic I think it's just the way it fits my hand.
Hadn't a notion to be honest. Next clipper I'm handed is getting pocketed though.
Y'know ive been watching you Jeff since you made the original balisong, zippo and pocket knife collection videos I even remember those old homemade weapons collections and today I felt like I learned something new about you today with the Clippers. I worked at head shops and dispensaries in Canada and Clippers are always in a stoners arsenal not to mention how you specifically got a RAW and Psychedelic looking lighter makes me think you dabble in the left handed cigarettes from time to time haha.
I used to watch this guy's balisong/butterfly knife videos before I could drive! 😂 flash forward nearly 15 years and here I am again.... wowza
I once had a clipper lighter that had a metal button that you hold down for gas to come out and the flint stem that is plastic was also metal!!! And you could adjust the flame size by a slide thing on the front!!! It is the only one of the type I have ever seen ! It was mustard in colour and looked the same as any other clipper ! This was back in the late 1980s and belonged to my dad and I borrowed it for the night and lost it !!!! I have looked for years and never found another or anyone who has seen one !!!
I remember the ones where you could adjust the flame, I can’t remember exactly when but guessing mid 70’s in UK.
I love clipper lighters! I replace my clippers flints with my used bic flint works great!
If your tryna get down in a candle 😂 lmao y’all know we ain’t doin that 🍃
I actually had one of these sitting next to me when I clicked on this video.. and I’ve always preferred bics but my local gas station only has the clippers now … HOWEVER after watching this video and examining mine you’ve totally sold me on these lighters!

Yuuuuuuuuuuuup
Watched this last year. I came back to remember which part I could pull out. It was the flint. Thought it was the button. Now I know. I was wrong at first but I came back, rewatched the video! Now I'm correct about WHICH PART can be removed. When I'm out and about, I can use my lighter with confidence. Not one person can tell me I'm bad at operating a Clipper lighter. Knowledge is power.
We have the exact same voice. A random kid on xbox live told me this and its scary how much this is true. It took me recording my voice and playing it back and forth with your videos. I know no one asked nor cares but I can't get over this fact.
Oh fuck yeah! I have that same RAW one and I have been refilling it for a while and changed the flint for the first time about two months ago. I miss watching your videos after coming home from school. Now I’m too busy with work, new hobbies and more videos to watch, to watch your videos every day. You got EVERY point about the clipper in this video! I am so grateful for having your videos to watch as a teenager and then into a young man.
The fact that you can refill this lighter is great. The only problem with the clippers compared to bic is that they do not always ignight from the first time. Sometimes you need to try three or four times before you get a fire. Bic always works from the first time. If you remove the safety cap from bic, which is easly done, you also do not need to press so hard to get it going.
Get a new flint
Rest In Peace Gus 😔😔❤️❤️❤️❤️
I bought a twin pack of clippers from Walmart a while back. After I got them out of the package I noticed that one of them was empty...I saw just a few little rough marks on the buttom as well. Instead of returning it I got a sudden gut instinct and tried fiddling with the buttom seal cap... And sure enough it came loose, revealing an airtight stash compartment.
The container proved to be perfectly suited for the job.
Looked up the packing tool hack to see if it was true tapped on this video heard the voice a voice I hadn’t heard for many years but recognized it immediately and said “is that CutleryLover??” I knew it was. Man ab 10. Years ago I was getting into flint and steel and survival stuff and your videos taught me everything about firestarters
I knew about those since I was a stoner back in the day I still love them
I found out about them when I was 15 or 16 and they intrigued me because of the shape
Clippers were made for bonging, turn the best upside down and the flame grows bigger perfect for peak bowl ignition. 🔥
Blows away Bic for being refillable and able to replace the flint and reuse it for years instead of filling landfills with unbiodegradable crap.. A friend of mine just gave me one of these Clipper lighters and I thought it was disposable at first until I saw the fill valve and then when I researched how to replace the flint, I am impressed with it. Very nice design.
Owner of Zig-Zag rolling papers, Turning Point Brands, just signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Clipper to be their only authorized dealer for North America. Clipper is the 2nd largest seller of lighters in the world. Turning point brands' ticker symbol is TPB, and it's shares can be bought anywhere stocks are sold. I personally own TPB stock, and this is a YT comment, not investing advice.
Been watching since a kid for the knives, now that I’m a bit older seeing this makes me happy

I knew I recognized that voice. I used to watch your balisong videos. Thanks for teaching me again.
All this time I’ve been trying to figure out how to replace the flint I feel so stupid now after watching this video lol. I did not know that the flat mechanism would come straight out and you can refill it from the bottom that was the biggest surprise out of this video lol I have a bunch of these are used to work for a company that we used to give these away as a promotional items to customers and I have a butt load but a lot of them have no flint. I know you can put fuel in them but not a flint until I watch this video thank you so very much now all I have to do is make sure if I need a lighter to buy clipper the other ones are a pain in the butt to even fix and they’re a lot more dangerous to refill but these are easy is Peezy as pie. Thank you so very much young man thank you thank you thank you you save me a lot of heartache and a lot of stress and God bless you and your family and friends and don’t forget repent because Jesus Christ is on his way prophecies are being fulfilled left and right in these last days of the world so please my brother repent so we can be in heaven together and worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ together. ✝️✝️✝️🇺🇸
Not only is the flint part a packing tool, but the flat part can be used as a scraper and the metal ring detaches also so that you can make a cone pack easier.
Amazing fact, that is also easy to open if you need to clean any ash/residue after using it for long time, and it gets as good as new.
dont forget that you get extra flame when turning it sideways to light a bong bowl easier lol its a 120% pot lighter :D
Love ur vids amd share many of your hobbies. I had just watched the vid u referenced and then this video came out haha and still I learn new things everday those clippers are really neat i should pick one up. Thanks Jeff.
I just bought two of them today. My new favorite lighter. Thanks for sharing, I didn’t know about the flint replacement. 😊
Thank you, that is why i bought a clipper lighter, for refilling and delay wasting or throwing away. But, i almost dumped them because i new the flint was depleted but didnt know how to . Thanks for the video,

Just lit one
I worked at Headdies in Dickson City and we sold tons of these. These are perfect for stuffing joints.
Thanks! I just bought my first clipper lighter and this video was really useful to show the removable part and other features
Clippers are awesome. I've been using the same lighter for 3 years ! As long as you purge them, you're good to go for a long time ! The big plastic valves eventually wear out and will leak a bit if you're not careful, but this is easily fixable with a paperclip to put it back in place. You can also carefully strip the mechanism to clean it completely and change the wheel and spring.
Or you can buy a new one for 1.69
@@andymatt6990right, how else are you gonna get a new wheel and spring 😂
I have a collection of these for the same reasons. Refillable and you can replace the flint. I've noticed that you can rotate the striker to get a better spark.
What do you mean by rotating the striker?
@@LuisC7 Putting a different one on. You can use a mini bic wheel or Chinese one. A large bic is too thick.
@@rafaeltorre1643 oh ok so you mean removing the striker on the clipper, and replacing with a round bic lighter one? Does it fit? And I prefer the clipper one, though. But may try it
@@LuisC7 Yes. You can buy extra flint wheel pokers in packs on eBay. He was just saying basically he buys another new one and pits it on the older one. You can at anytime put it in and lighter you want to use. Also scrub the wheel because flint material will make it less effective over time. I use mini bic wheels and they light 100% of the time. But I personally buy vintage lighters because they are metal and never break. Just need to teach yourself how to service them. I collect plastic lighters but haven’t used them since discovering the quality of 60 year old indestructible lighters. They are pieces of jewelry made by jewelers, literally. Art.
@@rafaeltorre1643 oh great! What would that vintage lighters be??
This video made me so happy and dissapointed at the same time! I was trying to replace the flint by removing the wheel, I did not know about the twistable bottom hahaha thank you!
I’ve never seen one before but now I’m going to be looking. I want to try them out.
But yeah, they have a few benefits over BIC, started more as rolling lighters, the edge coming ovff to put your paper on, the spark wheel coming out to use as a tamp, made initially for people who roll their own smokes of any kind.
But they also can be beneficial in wilderness, as the removeable spark wheel, is good when you just need a spark but not a light.
The flint striker can get kind of gummed up with old flint material after a long period of time.
With a wire brush thats not too stiff, you can easily clean it to refresh the striking action.
I believe this is the problem I'm having....the flint appears alot shorter than a Bic as well.
I like that you mentioned lighting a bowl.Shows you think about us you are addressing the whole community.
I remember when those lighters first hit the market in the 90s. I was a Jr or Sr in high school, and an avid weed smoker. My buddies and I loved those things. And with the milage we put on them they got refilled and flints changed allot.
Never knew you could take the flint rod out of the lighter. I still have my first clipper, but the flint died on me. I have changed it with a rod from a recently bought clipper and it finally works again. Brings back some good memories.
the lighters fill in like 5 seconds u dont gotta hold it that long . i noticed that when i filled my clear one.
What I love about this channel is how it still has the same vibes of old school youtube
Wow i remember you from a long time ago cutlerylover! Just a lurker here but I used to watch your knife videos! I am a knife guy originally then life happened and i got into weed which is cool but i got rid of a bunch of great knives i used to have to feed the weed habit and get through life. I still have a custom strider smf with nightmare grind, an Emerson and a Fallkniven F1 pro. I miss a lot of knives that i cannot get anymore though.
Glad to hear you mention gus, may he rest in peace i remember him fondly from your old videos.
I like these clippers but i like Bic more still.
Yes! I only use Clipper lighters, I always try and educate my friends about the little hidden secrets that Clippers hold.
As you should. They also make a jet and push button lighter too.
When's the last time sparked up a candle with that raw lighter? ;)
lmao yea I was like uhhhh huh "candle" haha
Last night and lit a dragons blood incense
The flint rod was also desinged to be used as a tamper for hand rolled cigarrettes (or joints) and the bottom of the lighter can be used as a pipe tamper.
It's the go to lighter for any spanish teenager hehe
Im sorry for your loss man. Going out to buy a clipper lighter right now because of this video. Cheers.
I did know they were refillable (and have refilled them), but had wondered what would be when the flint was gone. Now, I know it's easy as pie as well, so that's nice to know.
I've got a whole stack of BICs from finding them by the roadside. I repair the still fueled ones, too, and just for fun, but I prefer the Clippers, they feel a bit more durable than standard gas station BICs, and the cylinder shape feels better in pocket IMO.
It's also cool that they bring out new print series for the shells constantly. Recently I saw animal pattern prints and bought 2 of them, tiger and leopard
You’ve done 3 videos on this lol. Clippers are the best lighters ever made especially for the price.
Rest in piece to your friend Gus I think it is awesome that you do what you do to cope
LOL! I wish I had watched this a few weeks ago. I replaced the flint in one of mine, but did not know about being able to take the whole mecahism out. So I had to cut a bic lighter flint down and then use a lot of focus and attempts to hold down the spring and flint while putting the wheel back on. At the start of watching this video I was like "I wonder how he's going to deal with the whole spring shooting the flint out?"! Kia kaha!
R.I.P. Gus 🙏🏻 gone but never forgotten
Fun fact from the factory a clipper has a low pressure butane in them
Love the channel and I’m also interested in lighters in addition to knives and sharpening. (And also like keeping some stored for prep). I didn’t know about Clippers and I was relying on a Zippo or torch lighter for a refillable but I really like the fact that these Clipper lighters are also refillable! I just picked a couple up today!
You can get metal clippers too, both in soft flame & torch versions.
Awesome! I have a few glow in the dark ones i do not want to throw away. Learned so much bro thank you

No one mentioned the bottom is shaped to be a sort of "in a bind" grinder. Drop material to be ground in a med bottle shorter than the lighter and grind away.
Works as it should because it was built with that feature in mind. Neat lighter
Id probably just break it down with my fingers in a "pinch" haha Im a knife guy so no problems just cutting it up fine on a board either...
I bought a sick clipper after ur last video on clippers. The bowl pick cheat code was pretty clutch too!
The flint being removable isn't just for replacement....
Its also for packing joints
Jeff you pothead, those are stoner lighters lol
Jeff has/had some interesting story times in the past about the good bud. :)

I showed a woman my lighters and she pulled the flint out of my lighter. I tried several times. I couldn’t figure out how she did it. Thanks for the video. I didn’t even know that the flint was replaceable. Thanks for the video. I really appreciate it.
I love clippers. Have all sorts. I have a few that I have even collected from the street grounds that were dried up. Took them inside, cleaned them up, filled them with gas and are still kicking.
Clippers break easily, Bic will last until the gas runs out. I've had numerous clippers break on me

The longer flame when tipping it over is dependent on the length of the tube that leads to the outlet. If it almost reaches the bottom then, when upright, there is liquid being forced most of the way up the outlet tube. When tipped over, only the vapor is able to enter the outlet tube which can be accelerated faster by the pressure in the lighter.
