    What was the difference you stated from the methods in the first month to second month? Didnt really understand. Slow eccentric movement then explode upwards for first month but what's different in 2nd month?

    • @brenthmonkey
      @brenthmonkey 7 лет назад +7

      I think in the first month you have to focus on the ecentric phace. On the second month you still go down in a controlled way, but the focus is at the explosive concentric phase.

    can you explain the differences between concentric, ecentric and isometric exercises or movements?

    • @cjpearce1407
      @cjpearce1407 4 года назад

      I know I'm late but... concentric is the shortening of the muscle in length, eccentric is the lengthening of the muscle and isometric is when it doesnt change length

    • @muri8395
      @muri8395 7 лет назад +3

      Christopher Forrest Increase eccentric strength - do nordic hamstring, romanian deadlifts, deceleration drills etc. If you got some extra bodyfat, lose it, it will help your speed. I'm not an expert though, but just trying to help...

    Chris whats significant about a reverse lunge opposed to lunging forward, both are in a sagittal plane, is it time under tension or eccentric loading or something?

    • @john_coleman
      @john_coleman 7 лет назад

      Gavin D reverse lunge is better for acceleration. Forward lunge is better for deceleration. Forward lunge is also tougher on the knee.

    What are your thoughts on where to place a deadlift in a push/pull routine. I've heard people say it's just a squat with different bar placement and then others swear it's a pull. I'm seriously confused. Thanks! #mailbag

    • @alexcarrington
      @alexcarrington 7 лет назад +2

      Firstly, its not a squat with different bar placement. Squats target and focus on the legs, with basic posterior chain involvement. The deadlift is all about the posterior chain, the legs, particularly the quads, have minimal involvement here, unlike squats. In some ways its a push; "push your feet through the ground" is a common instruction given for deadlifts. I'd go with this more than it being a pull, thinking of it as a pull could lead to you using your back too much in the exercise and having that rounded back syndrome kinda form.

    I can tell you didn't run track. Concentrate on the arms and toes pointed. You have great instructions but a proper track coach would emphasize the small details. Good work tho.
