    Hi Chris! How would u program a hepta/decathlete? cheers

    • @zber9043
      @zber9043 4 года назад

      Sprint/hurdles/jump training is pretty similar. Then just throw what you can and run the 1500 of having been an athlete for 5 years with doing regular warm down runs.

  • @BenjaminFountain
    @BenjaminFountain 8 лет назад

    what excersizes should o do for core strength? u said static holds, so maybe planks? and for twisting maybe cable wood choppers?

    • @champking20
      @champking20 8 лет назад

      Tbh you can really work on the components of your abs by just doing running, explosive workouts

      Weighted plank/reverse plank very easy to progress,and you can do it before you go to bed

    • @michaelrae7615
      @michaelrae7615 8 лет назад

      Weighted planks/reverse plank very easy to progress and you can do this a couple times a week before you go to bed

    • @wudzy5674
      @wudzy5674 8 лет назад

      One of the best things you can do is doing explosive sprint movements. In my experience static holds are not as effective as dynamic exercises.

  • @TheMemphistor
    @TheMemphistor 8 лет назад +1

    always I have heard that first I have to build my strength and then power and plyo. Now I see plyo, power and strength so why this seuence?

    • @zacharynielsen8539
      @zacharynielsen8539 6 лет назад +2

      What you are not being told is that various plyos (bounding, single and double leg hops, various multi jumps) will build strength and power. Teaching your athletes to properly jump and land will build and produce and absorb force at a rapid rate through your various plyos will increase your strength levels. However, outside of novice and low level intermediate athletes, focusing on strength as a singular quality to enhance other qualities more specific to athletics will not yield the same results as an integrated approach.

    • @SimbaUchihaa
      @SimbaUchihaa 4 года назад +1

      @@zacharynielsen8539 I see, so integration is even more important as a top athlete

    • @mustang8206
      @mustang8206 8 лет назад

      Do the lifts. Go lighter on the weight and make sure you have a spotter watching you very closely. Perfect form is the way to do anything good

      I've also seen him rock from side to side during the final 100m in a 200m! Seen this several times.

    • @themysoreguy
      @themysoreguy 8 лет назад

      Ur right. He has so much wasted motion with his shoulders. Michael Johnson talked about it

    • @gothops2632
      @gothops2632 8 лет назад +2

      Funny how Wallace Spearmon has tried to emulate Bolt's running style and as a result has unsurprisingly been running a lot slower!

    • @wilsonfisk6156
      @wilsonfisk6156 7 лет назад

      gothops it is too late to change that, because when you change your technique you are slower at first because you have to concentrate to fight your instinct, over time is much more worth it tho. But he is competing so no time to make bigger changes
