No doubt about that mask. I didn't want my voice muffled for what I was saying, but I could've probably done it, then showed and discussed after. Thanks for watching! Love you, guys!

Hi Bill You are helping me and motivating me to tackle this type of project. Going to seek your continuation video Doing the same project on a shed to tiny house in south AL. Do you have air intake in the soffits? Or the baffles are for air flow within the roof structure only? Excellent ppe tip! R values to use 💪🏼 Did you install a Vapor barrier before the drywall? Ty for your time
Awesome!!! Love the tee shirt idea 😂😂. I could listen to that water all day. So relaxing. That was a lot of work. And that ham and cheese grill cheese looked delicious 🤤 and made on a camp fire. Can you say tiny bit jealous 😂. Love ya 💜
Good video. I also enjoy watching Tre runs-wild. One thing i noticed on your video is that you stapled the insulation to the 2 inch side of the 2x4 rafter. I believe the standard is to staple it to the inside (4 inch face) so that when you put in the tongue and groove or dry wall, the staples don't push out the siding in certain areas where they arent fully pushed into the 2x4. Stapling into the inside of the 2x4 gives your siding a flush mount. Probably not a big deal but something i learned. Tre runs-wild also did the staples the same way you did
This is the perfect sized home for me. I plan to add a 8 x 12 sunroom on one end. This will make it 12 x 32. I just need to find the right shell to purchase.
I know you put baffles for a attic but why is it necessary for the shed ceiling are you closing it up with plywood is that the reason why? Thanks for the videos!!!!
awesome video. I am actually doing mine as we speak this week. What if you shed doesn't have cross bars for the peek. A. Will I still need baffling? There will be no crawl space. B. Can I go all the way up to the peak?
Yes what did you end up doing? Can you elaborate? I will have to do the same when our 2 story gambler barn roofed shed arrives. I chose that option for more unimpeded head room on the 2nd floor but now I'm thinking I'll need to run the baffles all the way to the ridge vent at the peak 😒
So my question is .I recently created a division on my garage with play wood like the room in the house . My question is if I just lay that on top of the plywood will it help any or it’s a waster of money if it’s not install into the frame of the roof ?
Should the baffle extend up to the ridgid vent, then in sulation. Getting a 16 x 20 cabin porchj regular pitch roof, not the barn roof like you have that provides an air pocket to rigid vent from Graceland. thanks sooo much for videos.
So I do not have to run baffle all the way up to the vent line at the top of my ceiling, I’m currently doing my wall insulation and about to have to buy baffles my roof is 24 on center
There wasn't any mention or discussion of the vents needed at the soffit area unless I missed it. The air needs to go IN the bottom then flow out the top ridge vent essentially natural convection. The paper facing is also a bad vapor barrier. Really a better idea to use unfaced insulation and plastic. Tape around everything. There's vapor liner things for the electrical boxes etc. Over lap the joints 12" and tape it. Otherwise the warm moist air can still leak up in there creating problems. The idea behind the vapor barrier is a continuous sheet to stop the water vapor from passing through it. The wall covering doesn't do it. The holes and gaps of paper facing doesn't do it.
Good tips! We do have soffit vents, so that should help with the airflow. I will get the tape, as you mentioned, and tape the seams. Thanks for watching!
You have 22" baffles, you think, and they have a perforation down the middle and you think tearing them in half makes them 14" wide? You think 22/2=14?!
What the heck? Baffles??? I thot i was going to buy the pink stuff and throw it up there. What, now we need " baffles"? Which ive never heard of but im just a diy woman! What do i know. My shed comes next week. They build it but we will do the finish work. One thing most important to me is to put wire mesh along the bottom frame and trench it way down and out so no critters can't get underneath! Ive got wire mesh and landscape fabric down already under the gravel pad that was built. But i am envisioning me trying to nail that wire mesh down to that base plate while they are trying to build the shed! That wont work! Ill probably have to wait til they are done and go back up under and do that. Its important or you'll have critters living under it!
He installed it correctly. The paper faces toward the inside. It acts as a vapor barrier and specifies the R-rating of the insulation, which is helpful for inspections or future reference.
Every building on the planet not fully "on the grid" is "semi-off grid." Grow up You think you're "semi-off grid" in a building made of store-bought materials WITH an electric meter installing store-bought materials with a store-bought power tool?! What "grid" do you think that term refers to?

Really well done. One caution keep mask on when cutting insulation around light fixture. Keep the series coming.

Thanks! I think you have the option of either. This weekend I put up pine T&G over the stapled faces and the staples weren't noticeable at all.

Baffle, insulation and red resin paper. Boom. No no mold of condensation issues. The building can breathe
Thanks for the tip! I'm not familiar with red resin paper, so I'll need to look it up and learn about it. Have a great week!
Perhaps rosin paper?
Do you need to vent the end panels to outside for airflow???

Super
what can I do for insulation in my shed roof that is spaced at 23" studs instead of 16" on center?
Should the baffle extend up to the ridgid vent, then in sulation. Getting a 16 x 20 cabin porchj regular pitch roof, not the barn roof like you have that provides an air pocket to rigid vent from Graceland. thanks sooo much for videos.
Stapling the baffles to the roof decking, does that not make a hole on the roof for a possible leak? Or do I need to get specific short staples?
It shouldn't go through as long as you get staples that are about 7/16ths or less (usual thickness of roof sheathing). Good luck!
So I do not have to run baffle all the way up to the vent line at the top of my ceiling, I’m currently doing my wall insulation and about to have to buy baffles my roof is 24 on center

@@mehardies3999 Do you need to do a soffit vent at the end of each run? That would be a lot of vents...just wondering as I'm doing a similar project!
@@mozimiga Yes, you should do one in each rafter bay because they all need to breathe. Good luck!
Did you have a ridge vent and soffit vent?
Great personality!
Wish I knew the cheapest. This style works well on a shed or a mansion. Not sure I will ever need insulation.

What's the sense of wearing a mask if you're not going to wear a mask
Looks like you may have black mold already growing 😳
You are cutting right under that insulation. No resp mask or eye protection. I can see stuff falling on you. You should be more careful.
