This Homeless encampment is under a bridge, far from buisnesses and schools, and sidewalks. Newsome is a coward, go do this on the streets, in skid row etc. Not under a bridge away from the real problem areas. Homeless on the sidewalks on the streets is where the real problems is. Not out in the woods, under freeways.

Are you actually blaming the homeless people? I'm willing to bet a lot of them are newly homeless because you can't earn peanuts wages and pay mansion prices. The core of these problems is corporations and conglomerates bragging about record profits yet paying near slave wages, and then add salt to the womb they're buying up these properties and forcing everybody out of their homes

Bring back mental institutions and drug rehab facilities with housing until recovery is completed. Mental institutions can get paid by medicare, medical and non profit organizations that receive grants and $$ from private and government sources.

I respect that he's doing this. I don't like him. He is clearly a socio path but the Supreme Court allowed him to clear out these camps and he's holding the funding to make it happen. Even though he's doing it for politics and to start grabbing the middle in anticipation of a 2028 presidential run he is doing it and that's all I care about.
I solved the homeless problem in the U.S years ago but no one will take the initiative to make it happen. There is more than abundant land that could be sectioned off on military bases to house the homeless in Fema trailors, empty barracks or other cheaply built houses. This would be a Federal program that provides housing, food, clothing, medical assistance and job training. The homeless would be transported to the facilities and assigned a living place. They would be allowed to come and go as they want but they would be told that if they are found sleeping on the streets then they would be taken back to the shelters. A city bus route with pick ups and drop offs would be provided. The streets could be completely cleaned of the homeless in a year. Too bad the rich and elite won't take up this suggestion. I have contacted everyone with this idea. So. The same old thing will continue to happen
This is INFURIATING! But NOT bc of Newsom ‘s hard stance on counties. As a former county worker, law enforcement agencies and other public service agencies are SEVERELY understaffed and under funded. Yes, UNDER funded-not all but MANY) Most agencies are just trying to keep their most critical positions filled to then serve OTHER laws that have been devastating to counties, like AB109, Prop 47, and SB 823! As someone intimately involved in all 3 of these it has decimated the justice system and the end result? Massive theft, massive drug use, massive homelessness and massive use of tax payer dollars to help “asylum seekers” crossing borders, GIVING THEM state Medicare benefits and housing. So for Gavin Newsom to have the audacity to BLAME and “crack down” on counties is DISGUSTING! 🤬HE is who should receive the crack down by getting him OUT of that Governor seat! CA in need of massive political overhaul!
