FIRING LINE WITH MARGARET HOOVER airs on PBS. Launched in June 2018, Firing Line maintains the character of the original series by William F. Buckley Jr., providing a platform that is diligent in its commitment to a balanced exchange of opinion. In weekly 30-minute episodes, host Margaret Hoover engages in a rigorous exchange of ideas with political leaders, cultural luminaries, thought leaders and activists who represent a wide range of ideas and perspectives. New episodes are available Fridays here on RUclips at 8:30 pm ET.
One of her most worthwhile episodes. It should be widely disseminated and discussed in every institution of learning...and in every political and religious forum.
Excellent discussion. Margret as usual was prepared and versed on the topic. Neil is an amazing force of intellect. More of this with others such as Brian Green etc.
I loved William F. Buckley, Jr. Margaret Hoover is a terrific successor to WFB's great legacy.
100% pure awesome! What a stimulating a thought-provoking conversation. And an important one, especially as more of our citizenry chooses not to trust or believe science. “Objective truth is true whether or not one chooses to believe in it or not.”

Well done, as always, Margaret Hoover and the team at Firing Line.
Amazing interview, I highly respect both people.
SUPER job interviewing Tyson, he is certainly political but he wants to keep the conversation focused on the science. Very difficult in these tribal times.
Science tells me I am just going around in circles all the time.
I am watching this video on Feb 13, 2024. And it saddens me that it has been viewed roughly 8,200 times. While the halftime show from Super Bowl 58 (Feb 11, 2024) has already been viewed over 13,000,000 times. When she asks Dr. Tyson about the future of space and humanity to achieve the level of space exploration seen in Star Trek, he should have told her about the history of mankind in the Star Trek universe. Those of us familiar with that fictional version of mankind laid down by Gene Roddenberry and all the great writers within it, we know that we [humans of the 21st Century] are right on schedule for the last of the World Wars that nearly wiped out humanity before they rose to the level of humans we saw on the Enterprise D.
16:06 Hindsight is, of course, 2020.
That aged well.
10:41 boom!👊🏼💥
I'd never heard of Ms. Hoover until this evening. I now recognize she's a proud conservative, like her predecessor, Buckley. I never saw the Firing Line program before...so, I came into this video a bit ignorant, but curious. And, picked this episode because of Tyson being her guest.
She's reasonably respectful, not something the GQP Trumpsters understand. So even though I may never watch another episode (I'm a gosh darned leftist), it's nice to know there are conservatives out there who aren't bat-sh#t crazy like the fascist Trump worshippers and whorish Faux News clowns like Carlson.
Go for it, Tyson!!
He's brilliant. Everyone I know is stupid. She's the most beautiful woman in the world... ❤
Knowledge v. Wisdom?
MrNa wholesale embrace of a marginal inoculation only shows a weakness in mainstream science.
His cave analogy is spurious in the extreme as well as arrogant. Let's take care of war torn and starving children first
Y’all still listen to this guy?! He plays with women at museums 😂😂
Did he play with you?
