There are also many scientific theories that have since been actually proven wrong. The geocentric theory of the universe being one of them. Science was wrong. Dead wrong. Evolution has created us to be biased towards false positives when it comes to threats. For example a rustle in the grass could be a snake or the wind. We are possibly seeing a parallel universe or dimension with Bigfoot and other creatures- beings. Sometimes we see them on our side? Just the latest theory. Maybe also see the past and or the future? The emit a high energy frequency so their image blurs even if the rest of the photo is clear. So it's hard to tell if it's faked or not. And they can blend in with their background so they have excellent ability to hide from human eye sight. It is rare that one is seen up close if it does not choose to be seen. We used to live out in the country, in Oregon, my daughter was home alone one day. She looked out into our pasture we had about 2 acres in pasture, and saw a big foot walking across the pasture. Walked right by our horses they didn’t even look at it. My daughter was in high school she had no reason to make this up, she never told me about it at the time. A few years back I was the language coach to one of the archaelogists working on Gobleki Tepi. I learned so much. It really did seem to me like Stargate! But relevant to this discussion was the history of how it was discovered. The story of that really demonstrates the scientific method in archaeology. Archaeology is the case on the cutting edge of the philosophy of science. A dig is not just some hole in the ground. Its a scientific experiment in which a set of predictions (a hypothesis) is tested.
Archaeology stems from well-off not massively bright folks running a discipline rather like Classics. Lots of travelling around creating stories around a few bricks and broken pot fragments.Most of it proved wrong later.Gobleki Tepi couldn't exist according to archaeology....oh it does! Neil Degrasse Tyson has been know as possibly a genius in the top 100 people of the world. I say genius very carefully btw, cause just because your clever doesn't make you a genius, but Tyson does something profound, which is he is able to teach science to the average cretin like me. He's even known to teach maths in the same fashion,and he's award winning, so yes I would say genius in this case.

Physics existed long before he was even born. Progress is made with the involvement of countless people; many whose names will never be publicized or sensationalized. But for the ones who are public like Tyson, like Brian Greene, Lisa Randall or Ronald Mallet, you can't fake that level of intelligence. People will listen to Tyson talk about science for hours. Can you say the same? Do you even know enough science to speak on it for even ten minutes? Because if not, then you are certainly in no position to say how smart he is.

While visiting stone henge, I heard quite a ruckus coming from behind some of the stones. Upon investigating, I was shocked to find two bigfoots (🤔should that be ‘bigfeet?’) having sex. I was so astounded that I didn’t even care about stepping in the huge pile of Bigfoot poop. I took out my brand new smartphone (which I had just gotten the day before) and started to record video. It was perfect, clear video, taken from no more than 25 feet away. The eerie sounds at the end were unlike anything I had ever heard before. I should have snuck away then, but I stood there filming, mesmerized by what I had just witnessed... and that’s when one of them (I’m pretty sure it was the male) noticed me. I stood there, frozen in terror, as he stormed directly towards me. I was certain that I was about to die... but he stopped right there in front of me, snatched my smartphone from my hand, and slammed it against one of the stones so hard that it shattered into little bits (I’m pretty sure the stone shifted slightly as well)... and then the two of them walked off hurriedly. As I stood there, trying to process all that had just happened... god appeared, scooped the pile of poop into a plastic bag, removed my right shoe and dropped it into the bag... and told me that I should have respected the privacy of the mating couple. With that, he boarded a spacecraft and left... And there I was... confused... with no evidence that any of it had ever happened, and no right shoe 🤷♂️

Well, I hate to break it to you, but I have seen a huge UFO myself, way out in the sticks in Minnesota where there was no light pollution then, or now, at 3AM, parked on my sister’s farm. Those of us in this special club are very temperate when called fools, idiots, or whatever pejorative terms uninitiated people love to throw at us, bc our knowledge cannot be shaken. Oh, I haven’t read the NYT or seen whatever, but you may be interested in watching recent interviews with Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin about the famous moon walk. @Scaggs I think that time IS a spatial dimension. To get to a specific moment you need a place and a time. If you look at it like a map, the place is the 3 dimensions we know of (we actually exist in more dimensions that we can’t comprehend) and the time is the last thing you need to get to that specific moment. It’s a location in a 4th dimensional space that we perceive as time, but time is an illusion my friend. It’s our brain’s way of making sense of the reality we live in, it’s been adapted to survive on this Earth we grew up on, but not equipped with all the senses to perceive all of the wicked ways our reality works. That’s why mathematics has revealed to us things that we haven’t observed yet in the universe but we can still call as truths. We’ve been able to prove other scientific theories right through math on so many occasions already. We just have to find a different way to measure it. We live in a weird weird reality….
We look to the skies in awe and believe it's so perfect because we lack the knowledge of what we are truly looking at. In a million years as we progress as humans in knowledge, we may no longer believe the universe appears so perfect. I'm sure someone several centuries ago thought the bow and arrow was the most perfect battle weapon and couldn't be trumped by anything, yet we have designed battle tested weapons more efficient time and time again that make the bow and arrow seem less than an afterthought. With knowledge, our standards change, and I believe that is why we look to the sky and cannot fathom it as an event, rather than a creation by a superior sentient being!
I partially agree I think when people say perfectly designed they don’t necessarily mean that it equates to a perfect society like a utopia. Many religions also believe that evil must be present as well as good. Good wouldn’t be significant or exist if evil didn’t. The universe is perfect in the sense that we can’t explain how or why we came to be and I don’t think science will ever be able to fully prove that answer. There was a cool speech I saw by a priest at a college event. He drew a pie chart and asked what percentage of all knowledge do humans know. Obviously no one thinks we know everything so he asked how do you know god isn’t in that missing %. It doesn’t prove god is real but I think it’s pretty arrogant of us to deny a god like figure until we know 100% of all knowledge which would in turn make us god.
The puddle argument comes to mind when the statement was made, “this all seems so perfect there must be a creator.” Water in a puddle might say, if it were conscious, “Wow! This place is perfect for me!” The Earth wasn’t made for us. The Earth’s conditions were ripe for life. If that asteroid didn’t hit we wouldn’t be here today. Perhaps some other life form would be or the dinosaurs would still rule. The dinosaurs lived way longer than we have, wayyyy longer. They were wiped form Earth to not be seen again. It’s because of the conditions being perfect we exist, not the other way around. It wasn’t made FOR us. We are a product of Earth.
Another way of stating how truths are established in science is through repeated failed attempts to disprove an observation. All it takes is someone to come along and disprove an "established truth" in a repeatable way for science to say "Ok... hold on a tick. We need to adapt to this new knowledge."

I'm just wondering, does anyone have REAL evidence of a "Bigfoot".... I'm not talking about "hair samples" or footprints. Are there ANY clear photos or videos of these "supposed" creatures?! No, there aren't. In the realm of science, you need REAL evidence in order to support your hypothesis. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE all things "Paranormal" whether it's "ghosts", "Cryptids" or Aliens....I love it so much that I have numerous degrees in Parapsychology, Cryptozoology, and Paranormal Investigations BUT if you actually study all of these various phenomenon there has NEVER been any REAL evidence to support Bigfoot or these other phenomenon. There are numerous shows out there that are ACTIVELY searching for Bigfoot BUT they have NEVER provided any REAL evidence of a Bigfoot!! I get the idea of wanting to believe in a Bigfoot or other phenomenon BUT they don't exist. Like I said, I'm not a person speaking from a personal standpoint. I've studied the available information and have taken numerous classes and have numerous degrees in these particular areas of study and NONE of them support the idea that there is a BIGFOOT that has been supported with REAL scientific evidence... you may not agree but that doesn't make me wrong.

Always interesting. Neil's take on aliens is always something that I don't really get on board with. We study less intelligent species so it doesn't seem so far fetched that aliens would study less intelligent species. We aren't trying to get any ideas on how to live from lions but we have a general drive due to curiosity and compassion to learn about them and to preserve them as a species. Also as for not seeing them, maybe they don't care about not being seen but they do care about interacting because it's dangerous. Again going back to the lions, we observe them from a far, they see us and go, "huh, wonder what that is?" Stay away and you are generally safe. Get close and you are playing with fire. Humans can be very dangerous. We think we aren't animals but that's because we don't have alien species to put us in our place. Another interesting thought is how we study lions up close and how they parallel abduction stories. "I saw this bright light outside so I went to look out the window, next thing I realize I was laying in my bed and 8 hours had past." Strange. Now if you were to ask a lion that we study and tranq to describe his experience he would probably say something like, "I was laying there and felt a pinch, next thing I knew, I woke up in a new area and the sun was already setting. Last I knew, I had just woken up in the morning. It was strange" in the meantime we are tagging and doing whatever to this lion and it is clueless.
This is under the assumption that aliens are humanlike in thinking and emotion. For all we know they may be existences that surpass all that. I like the lion argument though.

And I don't even believe my theory or disbelieve it, I just find it interesting that Neil comes across almost anti alien when he is asked about it. Like he finds it silly to think aliens would care about us. And who knows, maybe it is silly, but for our simple little human brains to think we have a grasp on the universe is very naive. I do truly believe humans are simply one swing down from the tree on the evolutionary scale and the fundamentals that exists out there in the universe our beyond our comprehension. I've found Yowie (Aussie Bigfoot) poop, footprints and hair and I, along with my son and 3 grandson's have had many encounters with the critters which live in our area, I have footage of a critter about 30 feet up in a pine tree and other footage of the large white one I saw at a distance of 30 metres from me, I find it strange that people who've never been to an area frequented by the critters can just dismiss their existence, I can take anyone to where the critters are and I guarantee that they'll think twice about going into a forest alone and unarmed after they have an encounter, especially after sunset, I've spent a lot of my life outdoors and now I'm hesitant to go bush walking alone because I know they exist and they don't like people going into their domain.

I find it hilarious that the majority of people who mock me believe in a man made God with all the bullshit magic that comes with it, yet no one has ever laid eyes on any God or found any evidence of a God ever existing, but they still believe their choice of God exists, I don't rely on blind faith as I have actual evidence for the critters existence.
There are vast areas of wilderness unexplored because of how difficult it is to go with equipment and just the terrain is too harsh. We haven't properly fully explored the surface of planet earth.

I think his argument is that “perfection” and similarly defining “God”, robs us of our ability to derive mutually agreed upon understandings of those terms. We can’t empirically agree upon what is perfect or god. It can’t be a scientific conversation in that regard. Some of us, whether we define ourselves as atheist or otherwise, have decided that empiricism and the scientific method is the best we have. We don’t want to entertain arguments that contradict these methods because none so far have been more convincing. Morality to an atheist probably is understood by scientific truths we are yet to understand in regards to brain functioning in relation to how we perceive emotions etc. Just because we don’t understand it doesn’t mean we should immediately insert Christianity in its place as an explanation. I personally do not find the logic Christians and other Judeo Christian sects derive from the Old Testament and other biblical texts to be all that convincing, especially when fairly amateur understandings of science can debunk a large portion of these sacred texts.
But if this hypothetical "perfection" defies our understanding, then how can you claim that the world truly is perfect? Maybe the world is "perfect" in that sense, maybe it's not, how do you assess that? At the very least you can't argue that "the world is perfect therefore a designer must exist", because the very premise "the world is perfect" is simply not proven.
Agreed with some additional thoughts. First, God is perfect. That doesn't mean the creation is perfect like God. There is nothing in revelation that implies God created a "perfect" world. Second, what is our idea of perfection? No death or suffering? Humans in complete control of our environment, at the obvious expense of other creation? Third, it seems to me the awesomeness of all the universe and what we call fine tuning is enough to see a creator, not perfection. The mere fact that the physical world and all material in it (along with reliable physical laws) is finite, reveals God's will for his creation to be finate. This further reveals his will for us that we are free to make choices, and that because God is good, this freedom allows for the greatest good while also allowing by permission evil and pain.

The Arthur C. Clarke story Neal mentioned was "Rescue Party". I first read it while I was in High School and loved it. Now, almost 50 years later, the values of the old man have changed somewhat from the values of the youth. But I can still read it with fondness. Here's my thing regarding Bigfoot. The one thing any mammalian species absolutely has to do to survive is breed. Given the fact that stories about Bigfoot go back hundreds and hundreds of years (back to the time of the Indians), you would think that they would have bred themselves to a significant degree of noticeability where, forget compelling video footage or pictures! We should have them in zoos by now! Just as a comparison, they outlawed deer hunting in the area where I live about 16 years ago and now, you practically have to step over them when you hike. Sasquatch would be an apex predator, outside of maybe the occasional grizzly bear. So, unless there's a large underground Bigfoot poaching organization out there shooting them and keeping their numbers down, it just doesn't add up. They should be in abundance. At least enough for them to have been discovered and their existence be irrefutable.

The god discussion is funny to me. My co worker gets angry if someone doesn’t agree with his belief of his Christian god. First, getting angry? Isn’t that supposed to be non Christian like? To me to believe is a choice. So, if someone chooses to believe in god, that’s great. However, why if someone chooses not to believe; does a believer get angry. There is not proof of god. I’m not saying there won’t be some day, however there is no proof now. Proof is not believing what someone tells you. Like Neil said, proof of god is not possible. But we could be experiments for them and not meant to engage or harm us. Also an advanced civilization would probably also understand the concept of life and death fully (natural order) hence there would be no need for defense, humans are still afraid of death, this is the reason we protect ourselves. So that's an interesting one, bigfoot... It's one of the few paradox's that exist inside my brain. I have a biology major from University of Waterloo and know all the jazz about a landscapes carrying capacity, how many animals it would take to maintain a breeding population in perpetuity and the animal's specific feeding strategy... The idea of bigfoot being another everyday animal in the ecosystem isn't possible due to the things I mentioned. A longer lived species might be able to get away with a population of about 10K but even that is on the low side and if there were that many, you would be able to go out and study them like any other animal. My buddy studied coastal wolves on Vancouver Island, and true, it took him 6 months to actually see one, he found hard, indisputable evidence of them immediately.. But... I do believe people are seeing what they say.. I believe Patty in the Patterson video was a real bigfoot... Or that incredible FLIR video from florida on the skunk ape, or my favorite (as a bowhunter myself) is Tim Well's hunting channel "Relentless Pursuit" encounters a bigfoot while bowhunting in Idaho... What are they? I don't know... I don't know how to explain why they can't exist, yet seem to at the same time...

You're as clueless as Neil. The 1LofT states that energy can't be created or destroyed, it can't happen naturally. One aspect of the 2LofT shows that the universe is winding down, usable energy is becoming less usable. It is clear creation had to be done supernaturally yet it is still denied because people are just too proud to accept that, among other things. Asking how God was created as if that answered something is downright silly. The question doesn't even make sense. Clearly creation had to be done by a supernatural creator. A supernatural who created the natural realm of time, space, and matter, along with the natural laws that govern it, is not bound by the natural laws the supernatural creator created. That's basic logic but not if you are NOT logical.
Although the 1967 Patterson Bigfoot film is the best to date and has passed every rigorous analyzation, there has been many compelling videos since then. Not to mention countless bigfoot tracks that were cast and shown to have dermal ridges, many hair samples collected that were shown to be unknown in origin, and of course eye witness testimony. These are chance encounters for the most part so the hypothetical hiker would 💩 in shorts before he thought about going for the cell phone to film a hairy humanoid creature standing 7ft tall. Unfortunately in the case of Bigfoot, despite the bulletproof evidence collected over the years I think Science will require a body before it will render its existence as being 100% factual.
The body of a Bigfoot being verified by scientists would have an enormous impact on all the major religions around the world, another verified Great Ape being added to the Great Ape branch of the evolution tree would be another nail in the crumbling coffin of religion and nearly all governments rely on religion to help keep the masses in check.
That film has *NOT* passed "rigorous analyzation" at all. And we are waiting for any further evidence to be presented for examination. So far, nothing. Are you ignorant of these facts, or are you lying?

This film has been studied extensively over the years dating back to the esteemed Anthropologist Grover Krantz, in more recent times Dr Jeff Meldrum, and many anatomists. The collective has proven time and time again that a human could not replicate the movements “Patty” made in the film. Furthermore, Bill Munns has done extensive work on the actual film itself, revealing details such as a moving mouth, visible teeth, mammary glands, and muscle movement. If you don’t believe in its existence fine, but being a loud mouth naysayer doesn’t legitimize your posistion.
It's a blessing to have this fellow in our generation to provide intelligent insight to curious questions. Neil's first answer reminded me of a 1978 program hosted by James Burke called, " Connections. " This excellent series detailed how various discoveries by different people over periods of time ultimately created the featured invention. Neil's observation that tying together seemingly unrelated events can provide a useful solution is comparable.
I feel like this guy consistently makes a decent point in about 15% of any conversation. The rest of the 85% is just him interrupting people and talking about absolutely nothing.

We used to live out in the country, in Oregon, my daughter was home alone one day. She looked out into our pasture we had about 2 acres in pasture, and saw a big foot walking across the pasture. But relevant to this discussion was the history of how it was discovered. The story of that really demonstrates the scientific method in archaeology. Archaeology is the case on the cutting edge of the philosophy of science. A dig is not just some hole in the ground. Its a scientific experiment in which a set of predictions (a hypothesis) is tested.
Archaeology stems from well-off not massively bright folks running a discipline rather like Classics.

While visiting stone henge, I heard quite a ruckus coming from behind some of the stones. Upon investigating, I was shocked to find two bigfoots (🤔should that be ‘bigfeet?’) having sex. I was so astounded that I didn’t even care about stepping in the huge pile of Bigfoot poop.
I took out my brand new smartphone (which I had just gotten the day before) and started to record video. It was perfect, clear video, taken from no more than 25 feet away. The eerie sounds at the end were unlike anything I had ever heard before.
I should have snuck away then, but I stood there filming, mesmerized by what I had just witnessed... and that’s when one of them (I’m pretty sure it was the male) noticed me.
I stood there, frozen in terror, as he stormed directly towards me. I was certain that I was about to die... but he stopped right there in front of me, snatched my smartphone from my hand, and slammed it against one of the stones so hard that it shattered into little bits (I’m pretty sure the stone shifted slightly as well)... and then the two of them walked off hurriedly.
As I stood there, trying to process all that had just happened... god appeared, scooped the pile of poop into a plastic bag, removed my right shoe and dropped it into the bag... and told me that I should have respected the privacy of the mating couple.
With that, he boarded a spacecraft and left...

If you look at it like a map, the place is the 3 dimensions we know of (we actually exist in more dimensions that we can’t comprehend) and the time is the last thing you need to get to that specific moment. It’s a location in a 4th dimensional space that we perceive as time, but time is an illusion my friend. It’s our brain’s way of making sense of the reality we live in, it’s been adapted to survive on this Earth we grew up on, but not equipped with all the senses to perceive all of the wicked ways our reality works. That’s why mathematics has revealed to us things that we haven’t observed yet in the universe but we can still call as truths. We’ve been able to prove other scientific theories right through math on so many occasions already. We just have to find a different way to measure it. We live in a weird weird reality….

I partially agree I think when people say perfectly designed they don’t necessarily mean that it equates to a perfect society like a utopia. Many religions also believe that evil must be present as well as good. Good wouldn’t be significant or exist if evil didn’t. The universe is perfect in the sense that we can’t explain how or why we came to be and I don’t think science will ever be able to fully prove that answer. There was a cool speech I saw by a priest at a college event. He drew a pie chart and asked what percentage of all knowledge do humans know. Obviously no one thinks we know everything so he asked how do you know god isn’t in that missing %. It doesn’t prove god is real but I think it’s pretty arrogant of us to deny a god like figure until we know 100% of all knowledge which would in turn make us god.
It's more reasonable to say that we were perfectly created for the earth, not the other way around.
The puddle argument comes to mind when the statement was made, “this all seems so perfect there must be a creator.” Water in a puddle might say, if it were conscious, “Wow! This place is perfect for me!” The Earth wasn’t made for us. The Earth’s conditions were ripe for life. If that asteroid didn’t hit we wouldn’t be here today. Perhaps some other life form would be or the dinosaurs would still rule. The dinosaurs lived way longer than we have, wayyyy longer. They were wiped form Earth to not be seen again. It’s because of the conditions being perfect we exist, not the other way around. It wasn’t made FOR us. We are a product of Earth.

Another way of stating how truths are established in science is through repeated failed attempts to disprove an observation. All it takes is someone to come along and disprove an "established truth" in a repeatable way for science to say "Ok... hold on a tick. We need to adapt to this new knowledge."

Always interesting. Neil's take on aliens is always something that I don't really get on board with. We study less intelligent species so it doesn't seem so far fetched that aliens would study less intelligent species. We aren't trying to get any ideas on how to live from lions but we have a general drive due to curiosity and compassion to learn about them and to preserve them as a species. Also as for not seeing them, maybe they don't care about not being seen but they do care about interacting because it's dangerous. Again going back to the lions, we observe them from a far, they see us and go, "huh, wonder what that is?" Stay away and you are generally safe. Get close and you are playing with fire. Humans can be very dangerous. We think we aren't animals but that's because we don't have alien species to put us in our place. Another interesting thought is how we study lions up close and how they parallel abduction stories. "I saw this bright light outside so I went to look out the window, next thing I realize I was laying in my bed and 8 hours had past." Strange. Now if you were to ask a lion that we study and tranq to describe his experience he would probably say something like, "I was laying there and felt a pinch, next thing I knew, I woke up in a new area and the sun was already setting. Last I knew, I had just woken up in the morning. It was strange" in the meantime we are tagging and doing whatever to this lion and it is clueless.

I've found Yowie (Aussie Bigfoot) poop, footprints and hair and I, along with my son and 3 grandson's have had many encounters with the critters which live in our area, I have footage of a critter about 30 feet up in a pine tree and other footage of the large white one I saw at a distance of 30 metres from me, I find it strange that people who've never been to an area frequented by the critters can just dismiss their existence, I can take anyone to where the critters are and I guarantee that they'll think twice about going into a forest alone and unarmed after they have an encounter, especially after sunset, I've spent a lot of my life outdoors and now I'm hesitant to go bush walking alone because I know they exist and they don't like people going into their domain.

In my opinion that "perfection" has nothing to do with human beings... maybe the way "God" designed universe is perfect on a way we can't understand and that doesn't have anything to do with our concept of justice, fairness or mercy.
Atheist always ask why God let's bad things happen to us. Well I have an answer, remember when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. God cursed them, we are still cursed, we will grow old and our physical bodies will die. That's what I believe. I would like to ask an atheist to explain where morality comes from ?
I think his argument is that “perfection” and similarly defining “God”, robs us of our ability to derive mutually agreed upon understandings of those terms. We can’t empirically agree upon what is perfect or god. It can’t be a scientific conversation in that regard. Some of us, whether we define ourselves as atheist or otherwise, have decided that empiricism and the scientific method is the best we have. We don’t want to entertain arguments that contradict these methods because none so far have been more convincing. Morality to an atheist probably is understood by scientific truths we are yet to understand in regards to brain functioning in relation to how we perceive emotions etc. Just because we don’t understand it doesn’t mean we should immediately insert Christianity in its place as an explanation. I personally do not find the logic Christians and other Judeo Christian sects derive from the Old Testament and other biblical texts to be all that convincing, especially when fairly amateur understandings of science can debunk a large portion of these sacred texts.
But if this hypothetical "perfection" defies our understanding, then how can you claim that the world truly is perfect? Maybe the world is "perfect" in that sense, maybe it's not, how do you assess that? At the very least you can't argue that "the world is perfect therefore a designer must exist", because the very premise "the world is perfect" is simply not proven.

Agreed with some additional thoughts.
First, God is perfect. That doesn't mean the creation is perfect like God. There is nothing in revelation that implies God created a "perfect" world.
Second, what is our idea of perfection? No death or suffering? Humans in complete control of our environment, at the obvious expense of other creation?
Third, it seems to me the awesomeness of all the universe and what we call fine tuning is enough to see a creator, not perfection. The mere fact that the physical world and all material in it (along with reliable physical laws) is finite, reveals God's will for his creation to be finate. This further reveals his will for us that we are free to make choices, and that because God is good, this freedom allows for the greatest good while also allowing by permission evil and pain.

The Arthur C. Clarke story Neal mentioned was "Rescue Party". I first read it while I was in High School and loved it. Now, almost 50 years later, the values of the old man have changed somewhat from the values of the youth. But I can still read it with fondness. I can't say that for every story, Sci-Fi or otherwise, from 50 years ago. References change. The nice thing is, it works both ways. I can actually enjoy some writing that never appealed to me before. Here's my thing regarding Bigfoot. The one thing any mammalian species absolutely has to do to survive is breed. Given the fact that stories about Bigfoot go back hundreds and hundreds of years (back to the time of the Indians), you would think that they would have bred themselves to a significant degree of noticeability where, forget compelling video footage or pictures! We should have them in zoos by now! Just as a comparison, they outlawed deer hunting in the area where I live about 16 years ago and now, you practically have to step over them when you hike. Sasquatch would be an apex predator, outside of maybe the occasional grizzly bear. So, unless there's a large underground Bigfoot poaching organization out there shooting them and keeping their numbers down, it just doesn't add up. They should be in abundance. At least enough for them to have been discovered and their existence be irrefutable.
I agree logically it's ridiculous. same with UFO's The problem is there have been thousands of sightings by credible people going back decades and decades on both that defy easy answers.If something is clearly walking on 2 legs and is a lot bigger than a human what can it be? Sure some could be a Bear against a tree, in shadows etc.but those would be a very small pct. of cases. There must be a lot of great Bigfoot costumes hidden out there, if people think it's just a dude in a suit, because no one ever seems to come up with one.

The god discussion is funny to me. My co worker gets angry if someone doesn’t agree with his belief of his Christian god. First, getting angry? Isn’t that supposed to be non Christian like? To me to believe is a choice. So, if someone chooses to believe in god, that’s great. However, why if someone chooses not to believe; does a believer get angry. There is not proof of god. I’m not saying there won’t be some day, however there is no proof now. Proof is not believing what someone tells you. Like Neil said, proof of god is not possible. Probability, which is science; points to there being no god. However, that doesn’t mean they are saying there isn’t a god, again it says it’s not likely.

Just because something is traveling here doesn’t mean you know their reason for coming. Whose to even say these things are from another planet? One thing is for certain, no matter how much intelligence you have, you’re still capable of mistakes , such as being spotted etc. discreet locations would be perfect. What alien would appear in the middle of a city to just get possibly killed or captured by us lol. Who said these things are immortal or even have weapons? Watching too many movies man. Advanced creatures would not need weapons and violence, they would also understand we are primitive compared to them, so why engage with us? @@GTSN38 that’s what you would do, remove yourself from the equation first. There could be many reasons for visiting. I so happen to believe in inter dimensional beings more than actual aliens. But we could be experiments for them and not meant to engage or harm us. Also an advanced civilization would probably also understand the concept of life and death fully (natural order) hence there would be no need for defense, humans are still afraid of death, this is the reason we protect ourselves. I think you’re blinded by the constructs society has to offer. Real life is survival of the fittest as well as peace. All I’m really trying to say is what we believe in and don’t believe in doesn’t really matter and what we can prove and disapprove doesn’t either, because at the end of the day, if we don’t have the tools or comprehension necessary for testing a theory… then we don’t even know the full truth about things. We are not the smartest in the universe and not being an open book will not further our understanding of life. Aliens, God etc have a high probability of existing simply because we don’t even really know how we came into existence. You can always say the Big Bang but what about before that. So that's an interesting one, bigfoot... It's one of the few paradox's that exist inside my brain. I have a biology major from University of Waterloo and know all the jazz about a landscapes carrying capacity, how many animals it would take to maintain a breeding population in perpetuity and the animal's specific feeding strategy... The idea of bigfoot being another everyday animal in the ecosystem isn't possible due to the things I mentioned.
A longer lived species might be able to get away with a population of about 10K but even that is on the low side and if there were that many, you would be able to go out and study them like any other animal.
My buddy studied coastal wolves on Vancouver Island, and true, it took him 6 months to actually see one, he found hard, indisputable evidence of them immediately..
But... I do believe people are seeing what they say.. I believe Patty in the Patterson video was a real bigfoot... Or that incredible FLIR video from florida on the skunk ape, or my favorite (as a bowhunter myself) is Tim Well's hunting channel "Relentless Pursuit" encounters a bigfoot while bowhunting in Idaho...

You're as clueless as Neil. The 1LofT states that energy can't be created or destroyed, it can't happen naturally. One aspect of the 2LofT shows that the universe is winding down, usable energy is becoming less usable. It is clear creation had to be done supernaturally yet it is still denied because people are just too proud to accept that, among other things.
Asking how God was created as if that answered something is downright silly. The question doesn't even make sense. Clearly creation had to be done by a supernatural creator. A supernatural who created the natural realm of time, space, and matter, along with the natural laws that govern it, is not bound by the natural laws the supernatural creator created. Although the 1967 Patterson Bigfoot film is the best to date and has passed every rigorous analyzation, there has been many compelling videos since then. Not to mention countless bigfoot tracks that were cast and shown to have dermal ridges, many hair samples collected that were shown to be unknown in origin, and of course eye witness testimony.
These are chance encounters for the most part so the hypothetical hiker would 💩 in shorts before he thought about going for the cell phone to film a hairy humanoid creature standing 7ft tall.
Unfortunately in the case of Bigfoot, despite the bulletproof evidence collected over the years I think Science will require a body before it will render its existence as being 100% factual.
The body of a Bigfoot being verified by scientists would have an enormous impact on all the major religions around the world, another verified Great Ape being added to the Great Ape branch of the evolution tree would be another nail in the crumbling coffin of religion and nearly all governments rely on religion to help keep the masses in check.
Science as we know it will fall on its own sword first.

This film has been studied extensively over the years dating back to the esteemed Anthropologist Grover Krantz, in more recent times Dr Jeff Meldrum, and many anatomists. The collective has proven time and time again that a human could not replicate the movements “Patty” made in the film.
Furthermore, Bill Munns has done extensive work on the actual film itself, revealing details such as a moving mouth, visible teeth, mammary glands, and muscle movement. If you don’t believe in its existence fine, but being a loud mouth naysayer doesn’t legitimize your posistion.
It's a blessing to have this fellow in our generation to provide intelligent insight to curious questions. Neil's first answer reminded me of a 1978 program hosted by James Burke called, " Connections. " This excellent series detailed how various discoveries by different people over periods of time ultimately created the featured invention. Neil's observation that tying together seemingly unrelated events can provide a useful solution is comparable.
I feel like this guy consistently makes a decent point in about 15% of any conversation. The rest of the 85% is just him interrupting people and talking about absolutely nothing.

We definitely don't live in a perfect world. For everything that seems miraculous there are things that are horrifying. I just hope that we are smart enough to save ourselves from ourselves. If we manage that there could still be some catastrophy that wipes is all out. On that note have a nice day.
