- (Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz/ Gundam Build Fighters.)
Instead of the red color scheme of the TV version, the Endless Waltz version sports a dark blue-green theme. This version has no shield and knife, but sports more missiles, two more chest gatling guns, and uses a pair of double gatling guns as its main weapon. In A.C. 196, Trowa sends the Gundam Heavyarms Custom over to Quatre to be destroyed. When he realized that the Barton Foundation is planning to carry out the original Operation Meteor, he infiltrates the the Mariemaia Army, much like he infiltrated OZ a year earlier, and uses a Serpent unit instead (Which has similar armaments to the Heavyarms Custom, as both were built by the Barton Foundation). Trowa switches back to the Heavyarms Custom for the battle in Brussels. During the battle, the Heavyarms Custom disabled many Serpent units without killing the pilots using specialized, non-explosive rounds. However, it eventually ran out of ammo due to the large amount of enemies and the toughness of the Serpents' Neo-Titanium armor. After the battle, the Gundam Heavyarms Custom is seen with Gundam Deathscythe Hell and Gundam Sandrock Custom as the pilots self-detonated them, destroying the Gundams once and for al.

The Gundams in Wing weigh 8-9 tons on average. If you use the weight to size ratio, the Gundams may well have been made of plastic. For reference, the original Gundam was 40 tons, 00 Gundams averaged in the 50s-60s and anything from Cosmic Era were usually in the range of 80-120 ton. By comparison, the Gundams in Wing are like magical fairies.

Similarily, Quatre wass the softest of the bunch, whereas the 'God of Death' was the most cheerful, friendliest. Heero isn't exactly heroic for that matter, and Chang Wufei was a hot headed maniac in contrast with the serene image of the dragon his gundam embodied. They were clearly going for contrast, and I think it was meant to be part of their character arc. The kid who took on Heero Yuy's name despite being technically inhuman finds his humanity, while Wufei finally calms down enough to focus, and so on.
Wufei's arc included some of my favorite moments of character growth, which became clear to me during his duel with Treize:

Trowa's was similar, but in a different vein; that he learned to take initiative instead of attaching himself to others' plans always.
What can I say, Trowa was the living embodiment of "Speak softly and carry THE BIGGEST STICK YOU CAN FIND!!!"

If it had anyone else in the cockpit, no version of Heavyarms would be so loved by the fanbase. But of all the Gundams in the entire Gundam multiverse that are based around "ALL THE GUNS", the fact that this one is piloted by the guy who can make it pull off circus acrobat-tier feats of agility without giving up any firepower makes it extra special. Move over Leopard and Leopard Destroy, the real dakka king Gundam is here, and he ain't giving up his throne.
I dunno, it's kind of an inverse for me. I actually love the mobile suit, and the fact that Trowa can make it highly agile is just the cherry on top. Honestly, one of my favorite types of heavy weaponry is in fact Gatling Guns. Heck, it's why my favorite Gouf is none other than the Gouf Custom! I want to state for the record (heh) that the only mobile suit I don't particularly like for it's Gatling Guns are the Unicorn. I prefer the Beam Magnum always for that one.

I kinda feel like Roybea and Trowa would have gotten on famously if they ever met (Roybea was the chill one of the Frieden family too) Certainly the level of destruction they could both visit upon the battlefield would be breathtaking.
To be fair in the series Heero uses heavy arms to fight tallgeese because Heavy arms is the second most mobile Gundam on the team

The Gundams in EW are hands down my absolute favorite. So iconic... I'm a Desthscythe Stan but even Sandrock looked badass in this.
100% agree. Duo and Deathscythe will always be my favorite, but this movie is when Trowa and Heavyarms cemented themselves as a close second. Hell, like you said, even Sandrock was badass for a change lol.

My favorite gundam as well as my first gunpla
Of the Gundams I'd have to honestly admit that Deathscythe remains my favorite of them with Wing Zero and Heavy Arms pretty close in 2nd and 3rd. I can't fault anyone for loving what is essentially a Mecha A10 Warthog.
I almost always go for the gundam or mech with the most BRRRRRRR
There was a gundam for everyone. Be it style, equipment, pilot. Never feel bad for liking a specific gundam no matter the power output and performance.
Now imagine how long it's take to armed this Gundam before every sortie.
obviously the best thing to do would be to reload it after returning from combat, but i bet that would take WEEKS or maybe even MONTHS lol
And you guys think liger zeros module transformations took long lol.
A few days at most if you have spare gatling guns and just swap them while the spent ones gets reloaded while you're using the freshly reloaded one.

Modern armaments similar to how those would likely need to be storing munitions are going to have access points under modular armor sections or proper access ports for the purpose of doing so, so probably an hour at most for loading rotaries, the missiles themselves would depend on if they load them by removing the hardpoint, or if they need to load them in smaller packs, so probably somewhere in the neighborhood of two hours to three based on weight/size if they have a support crew hiding somewhere in range, days if by just Trowa and a handful of individuals. The times for servicing would be much shorter if we were talking smaller scale weapons of similar purpose, but M.S. are a bit bigger than modern tanks and aircraft, so they likely require more specialized loading equipment they may not have access to, so everything would be manually loaded, which is why I'm saying hours or days, and not minutes.
I am not going try guessing repair times if they need replacement parts for the M.S. itself or the weapons because those likely need to be tracked down individually or entirely rebuilt from scratch due to Heavyarms' fairly unique loadout and need for Gundanium Alloy components to maintain its performance due to weight and durability requirements.

Would be nice if that was the case, but it was really more a "when you want a massive barrage that actually does zero damage to demonstrate how tough the opponent is" thing. Basically, Heavyarms was the Worf of Gundam Wing :P.

This was the robot that caught my eye one day as I walked through the mall in 1999. The little anime vendor cart had one of these in 1/44 HG sitting front and center.....and that artwork blew me away. I didnt even know what a gundam was but it had to have it! Long Live Gundam wing!

Mostly the gundanium alloy, the wing zero custom was damaged when it was fighting the altron gundam when it went atmospheric re-entry it made the damage in the wing zero custom even worst
They switched to Trans AM when entering the atmosphere for added protection. See the red trail they left behind when they flew in? XD
Gundanium is a super hard material, different from Universal Century's gundarium alloy aka luna titanium. It is so tough atmospheric re-entry is child's play to a gundam The wing zero, while in neo bird mode managed to enter the atmosphere with no problems since its powerful than all 5 gundams combined. The trade off however is that Gundanium can only be processed at a Zero G environment. The material that made the serpent mobile suits are made of neo titanium, it rivals Gundanium but not strong to survive re-entry if its ever possible and like most suits in OZ's arsenal it will be destroyed the same way.
I'm WAY late to the party but: they were in no critical rush, could spend a few extra minutes, as long as you don't drop flat down as a stone the compression heating isn't as bad. So they Probabaly just took a shallower descent path (see also the gundam wing second intro, the red lines curve around the earth to reach it instead of flying in flat like idiots)
if you see it in the vids even heavy arm and hellscythe wear an anti beam clothing like sandrock, probably it'll help in the atmospheric reentry

I think it also comes down to the strength and abilities of the pilot. The mech and alloy can obviously support the weight but in the original canon trowa mentioned how heavy the left arm gatling gun was and gave his gundam a saber especially for heero, who at the time could barely lift the gatling gun due to injury (while trowa had no problems)
I absolutely love this version of Heavyarms.
Holy crap, imagine all the noise in the cockpit if you fired those chest gatling guns. It's a miracle Trowa isn't deaf.

A nice, heavy firepower with 4 Vulcans and missiles, which can deliver nasty destruction against entire units.
However, when the ammunition fully depleted, it may lead to dangerous situations if being fully surrounded.

I still remember in Wing when Trowa ran out of ammo and OZ had him surrounded. They didnt know that he packed a switchblade in his arm and after he dropped the rotary cannon/mini gun. Heavy arms was fairly agile - which is a reference to Trowa himself as he was performing as a circus clown at the time and doing loads of high agility flips and tumbles like a gymnast.
Too bad they didnt really show more of agile heavy arms in the Anime.
I remember seeing the stats of the various mobile suits. Basically the base Heavy Arms is as quick as the Aries (Oz’s speed/flight model). Yeah it’s the slowest Gundam, but it’s still comparable to Oz’s fastest suit.
what more satisfying than a galting gun is many galting guns, I prefer galting than beam or energy weapon
I love miniguns/chainguns/gattling guns, but having four on them might be over excessive since you would run out of ammo fairly fast and the regular Heavyarms already had the problem of running out bullets relatively quickly.
Also that jumping spin act, I know that Trowa is in a circus, but this is just so ridiculous. XD
One last thing thing to say? "I am Heavy Weapons Guy, and THIS is my weapon." ;)

Conventional weapons were always my favorite weapons for mobile suits. Beam weapons just didn't have the shall we say "oomph" that bullets and rockets showed me

IMO this Gundam is the most practical Gundam in battle. The anime makes it so certain individuals can dodge the shots, but in real life, if you hear the sound of a gatling gun, it means you're not its target, and the actual target would've just died without ever knowing what hit it. You gotta be almost The Flash's level of speed to dodge a gatling gun fire. It also can wipe away groups of enemy MS real fast. If the pilots don't have plot armor, the melee Gundams would've been shot down before they can even land a hit on anyone.
Each time I participate in a ranked match on Gundam Evolution, I always choose Heavyarms. You can never go wrong with so many guns.

Ah yes. My favourite Gundam of all. The very first Gunpla I bought was a High Grade kit of that guy.
The animation in this is tge main reason wing is still one of my favorite mecha shows. This movie is peak animation even for its time. So glad sunrise remastered this for english audiences and I own it on DVD.
Definitely my personal favorite Gundam! Plus the double Gatling guns have the same sound as the A-10 Warthog’s Gun!

I am gundam heavyarms. And these are my weapons. They weigh 2500 kilograms and fire 2000 dollar custom-tooled cartridges at 100.000 rounds per minute. It costs. 400.000.000 dollars to fire these weapons, for twelve seconds. (Don't actually know the math though ^^; )
Not to mention the fact that inspite the weight of these weapons i can still jump around with total disregard for physics.
Considering those guns can fire more than twelve seconds, they have a ton of ammo

@@sevrengrey3689 Problem is that for the entire series it was never capable of killing anything that actually _mattered_ at range. Anything that wasn't a "graze its left pinky toe and it explodes" mook suit would evade or tank its firepower easily. EW was actually the first time it was ever genuinely useful on screen :P.

Ah, EW. The only time Heavyarms was allowed to do some actual _damage_ with its arsenal.
That suit was done so very, very dirty in the series.
It did some actual damage in the anime. And when i said damage I mean serious destruction.

In every fight against somebody who actually _mattered_ its firepower turned out to be useless.

Heavyarms is totally like one man army.
The old Heavyarms at least had that small blade when it was out of ammo. Yeah the new Customer Heavyarms has upgraded ballistics and ordinance, however once the ammo is depleted it’s almost a sitting duck.

When Heero Yuey was piloting it he put that little blade to great use. I feel that they should added that back. 😁

The heayarms of Endless Waltz isn't a upgrade to og series ver. They changed the model designs so can be more detailed for the movies purposes back in 1997 to make great hit to aundiance. There's actually a special manga version which has the Endless Waltz gundam designs for the whole story.
When sunrises release the 00's 3rd season , there's some rumors that they might remake the wing series with the Endless Waltz desings as well hopefully.

I always ultimately preferred the original TV Heavyarms for the simple fact it's gatling was part of the arm.
Also why on earth they are shell firing is beyond me, it already carries four in the chest and since it has no melee I would have used the beam gatlings again so at least they have the chance to recharge or reload quickly with a pack swap.
The reason it's using shell is to disable the Serpent Mobile Suit as if Trowa want to go for the kill it would have use beam gatling gun instead of normal ones.
the TV version's gatling is actually not part of the arm... it's an attachment alongside the shield. Many times Trowa dropped the gatling when it's out of ammo and you can see the left arm intact.
@@kyrios0307 Yes it was detachable but when armed with it the gatling physically attaches to the arm with a solid connection rather than just hand held.
