I found you they the miracle noodle insta post! Since I live for Asian cuisine (particularly Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese), your recipes made me hungry all morning! I have a question: for those of us that are allergic to wheat, can we use tamari and any recommendations for a gf flour substitute??
God I love this man and his channel. He's got me to change my diet for the better. I would never had touch tofu if it wasn't for Wil. I haven't completely gone vegan but I have greatly substituted animal products for healthier choices and have started other RUclipsrs like Plant Life, Wicked Kitchen, Avant Garde Vegan, and Thee Burger Dude because of Wil. I'm headed for my local Asian store right now. Thanks Wil!
I feel so grateful to be alive and vegan at this time, when someone like you Wil are bringing such beautiful and varied dishes into my life. I can't wait to make this, I have loved every recipe I've tried of yours.
This is about the 4th or 5th video of yours Ive watched, and Im smashing subscribe! Not a vegan or vegetarian, but I 110% need 110% more veggies in my life for sure. Your food looks outstanding! Can't wait to binge-watch a bunch of episodes when I get the chance! Much love from NorCal. Stay blessed!
Hi! A definite must try 😋 Here in the Philippines, we have: Lumpiang Ubod (heart of palm spring roll) Enseladang Ubod (heart of palm salad) Ginataang Ubod (heart of palm in coconut milk) Atcharang Ubod (pickled heart of palm)
Just found you while looking for hearts of palm recipes out of curiosity to see if people other parts of the world cook hearts of palm as we do in Trinidad. Happy to be able to follow you from now on. You are a delight to listen to and excited to learn new recipes!❣
I was fortunate to have been in Costa Rica and my friend had a timber operation in the mountains. We went up on horseback and on the way back down we went through a palm grove. My friend cut down a palm and we took it back to the beach where he prepped the heart. We grilled it over Guanacaste hard wood charcoal. OMG! It was so delicious. A great memory. I've been on the lookout for fresh palm, but to no avail. I'll try this recipe with canned. Thanks, Will, for another of your very inspirational recipes. And, I will order your latest cookbook to add to the first two you published. Judy
Yeung your recipes never cease to inspire and amaze me. I am going to try this with a gluten free flour mix, I hope the rice and potato starch mixture works.
hey! looks delicious! i never thought of making hearts of palm this way.. here in Chile we make salad with sliced hearts of palm, cubed avocado and chopped celery with a lemon, olive oil and salt dressing! very fresh and tasty too!
I just got your cookbook, Yeung Man Cooking. So excited to try this recipe. Just wanted to say thanks for the creativity and excellence with which you execute on this channel! It's very much appreciated, and I wanted to show that by buying one of your cookbooks. Thanks again... wishing you continued success.
Your new cook book arrived and I am crazy with delight! Can’t wait to try every recipe! I have been able to source some of the ingredients from online Japanese stores and some even from Amazon. I can’t wait to crunch down on these hearts of palm! Thank you, Wil…you’re genius in the kitchen!
Made this recipe (with confidence). Hearts were crispy and super tasty. Did not have all the ingredients for the sauce so made a Korean gochujang sauce ( 1.5 Tsp gochujang, 1.5 Tsp ketchup, 2 Tsp cane sugar, 1 Tsp toasted sesame seeds, juice of 1/4 lemon; mix well). New to the channel but already a convert. Ordered all 3 books. The tiger is loose! Thx for sharing all these.
I miss calamari so much since i make the transition to veganism... Today i learned so many words xd! I wish someday i can have access to these ingredients. Love from Greece
Today is the first time iam watching his video ,wow very well explained .only with few we stay connected for cooking by watching you are one among the best .i will definitely try your recipe .
Your food looks absolutely stunning! I love making fantasy and international foods I'm in love with your meals and would love to try to make them one day. Where do you get your nice food containers from? it would make cooking so much easier and more organized.
Talk about unique! Never heard of this! Thank you will for putting those little shorts/ads or whatever we can click on to get to your recipes. I'm off and thinking about many other things I have to look at on RUclips but then I'll see one of your recipes and stop caring about all the important stuff and just watch this! (I'm curious thinking I may be able to bake these successfully if I cut with a pastry cutter a tiny bit of solid-at-room temperature coconut oil or something into the dry mixture, as if making a pie crust or scones 🤔 So that tiny bit of oil within be in the dry mixture inside the rings, so they can cook correctly? This recipe superb and I cannot wait to make it. Perhaps I will be able to share it with others I hope.
Never heard of heart of palms here in Australia but I love your recipes and trust in your advice and have made a few of your delicious recipes so am keen to give this a try, thank you
I’m so excited to try this. I was hoping you’d provide a way to bake/use an air fryer for this recipe. I usually bake my “fried” items, but I just got an air fryer from my wedding registry!
Your vegan culinary intelligence is worth of a great admiration . It is simple and uncomplicated to learn . Though , I'm strongly reluctant so called dairy vegan produce. As I love the real sustainable dairy produce .
Looks beautiful. This channel is a real inspiration. Heard banana blossom is also a great substitute for these kinds of thing. Not sure if you've ever made a recipe with those? I have a can sitting in my pantry I'd like to use, haha.
If I use the oven instead of deep frying. How long do leave in oven. Also where do you get those slightly curved dishes that you're using in this video?
I'm already planning on making this for friends tomorrow. Just curious ... I hate to see food wasted. What do you do with the centres of the hearts of palm that you pushed out? Is there a recipe for them?
Hello there! Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe. I am excited to try it out. I have a question, though. What do you do with the center that you pushed out? Is it discarded, or is there another use for it? I have seen some people use the entire product, so I am not sure what to do since this is my first time using this ingredient. I appreciate your help and guidance. Thank you once again.🌼🌻🌼
Looks delicious! Can you use rice flower instead of wheat flour? Also curious to know what your plans are for the centre of the hearths of palm that you did not use 🙃😋
Love this. It was so good!!!! I do need some advice though. My hearts of palm weren't nearly as beautiful as yours in the video. Out of two (organic) cans I had, there were maybe four where the core would push out. Is this normal? Is there a work around?

Ok to use rice bran oil? I learned about it thru America’s Test Kitchen (an old copy of their magazine). It has a neutral taste and high smoke point (450 F). I found mine on Amazon.
😱 too tricky to decide - they all offer different types of recipes. Over on the Yeung Man Cooking website, the table of contents are included on each book’s product page 🙈
