Yes, this autumn/fall have been collecting blueberries, lingonberries and mushrooms from my back forest for the winter. Nothing to to with history. Just fun to go in relaxing walk to to forest and get some really fresh food. From🇫🇮
Yeah, for some it's about relaxing walk, and for some it;s more competitive, like hunting or fishing; the bigger the cap the better of course. Nothing to do with poverty.
In Poland, we have more holidays and maternity and paternity leave than in the US. You have a full paid year with your baby after you give birth, you are getting around 80% of the pay that you have at your job. We have 26 days of paid vacation annually, in addition to public holidays. On top of that, there are 13 public holidays, most of which are non-working days. When you add up the paid vacation days and public holidays, you get a total of around 39 days off per year. Also, if you or your baby get sick you get "L4" from your doctor which is a day or few days off work to which your employer can't say no. We work 40 hours a week, of which up to one hour is usually the breaks that we take. Also, we work remotely a lot and me for example I chose a part-time job, so I work 4 hours a day from home and I can easily live my life with the money I get from that. It's a dream come true! I didn't know Brazil is a 3rd world! I follow one guy in Instagram who builds wonderful modern houses in Brazil and I envy the buyers because they have swimming pools there oh!!
On streets or during first interactions we can look cold but if we welcome you in home we guarantee a Kings treatment. It is great to see some similarity between different nations and cultures.
In terms of hospitality, we are extremely nice and welcoming to people we know or are getting to know, like in his case of a family member’s partner. However, when it comes to people we don't have any connection with, we tend to keep to ourselves. If we pass each other on the street or meet on a bus, we usually don't talk or even smile to strangers. I think that's why others might see us as cold or unfriendly. In our culture, it's just unusual to start conversations with strangers, but if someone does, it's generally received warmly.

A lot of Europeans are really into forging mushrooms and forest fruits, it´s a passion, a nice time in nature, and a tasty meal

On the subject of hospitality, we have an old Polish proverb: "A guest in the house is God in the house"
Gość w dom Bóg w dom?
@@losowaistota8932 tak, przynajmniej u mnie w Wielkopolsce. Tylko jak to z kontekstem przetłumaczyć na angielski?
Mushroom were taken from medieval period

Mushroom picking has nothong to do with communism, it is a centuries old pastime.
in the Polish national epic "Pan Tadeusz", mushroom picking was shown as one of the pastimes of the Polish nobility

Where does he get his work time information from?
Normal jobs in the USA are also 40h/w.
Especially all the 9 to 5 jobs.
His facts about working hours are nonsense
