Based on the reviews I got mine today and it more than paid for itself felling. limbing and doing cleanup on three trees using two charges total. Smallest was ~25 ft x 6 or 7" diameter, largest was ~30 ft x 10" diameter. Did not need to sharpen the chain but I do now as expected on any saw.
UPDATE. It more than paid for itself but died today (March 12, 2019), cause unknown. I'll autopsy at leisure. It was never abused. The 60V of similar age which is used harder (but not abuse) runs fine and just dropped several 12" gum trees today.
Hello, I have the same tool, I bought it brand new, but it's leaking oil, even while at rest, is it normal? Mybe mine comes defective... I don't know... do you know something about that? Thanks
Hello excellent video, but I have a question. I have 12 DEWALT tools that I bought with DCB206 batteries, now I want to buy this chainsaw to cut small trees in my yard, but according to home depot they say that I cannot use the batteries that I have because it will burn the motor, as it suggests that these are Models DCB205, DCB205G, DCB205CK or DCB205-2 What do you recommend in this regard, it is true that it would burn the motor or if I can use my batteries. Thank you
Thank you for the review. Wanted to know if you could share what the dimension of just the saw body without the bar installed? Thanks in advance for your reply.
I just got one from acme tools. And it is 199. Not sure because it is labour days or what. Can't wait to get it but not sure why I need it. Lol. Maybe for upcoming mega hurricane? Do people use chainsaw to cut 4x4 or I should stay with circular saw?
Louis Y thats a great price. If you're doing rip cuts, chainsaw is fine but if you're doing finish cuts, stick to the circular/miter saw. I'm pretty sure you'll find stuff to use it on lol
John Guerrero, Yes they will. The black chargers will take longer to charge the Flexvolt batteries and have a tendency to get warm/hot depending on what model black charger you have and how big of a Flexvolt battery you're charging (6ah/9ah/12ah) . Dewalt makes several 20v black chargers with different charge times . I recommend using yellow Fast charger (DCB118) since they charge faster and have a built in fan to keep the charger cool under heavy usage.
The dcb 115 will charge an 18-20v battery at the rate of 4ah the dcb 118 will charge at 8ah but only on the flex volt battery not any faster for a 20v as it’s only 4ah for 20v
Where and when did you get this?! I've had mine pre-ordered since July and can't wait to get my hands on it. Amazon said it should be here next week Also really glad to see it has a chain brake. No website lists the chain brake so I had to confirm with DeWalt that it would.
F. Ball I've one handed this when cutting small high branches, Don't recommend it but its doable. Yes I've heard of a tripod but my intentions were to just make a quick video with my phone to show the chainsaw to people since I couldn't find any videos of this chainsaw on RUclips. I'm not a Proffesional RUclipsr, just a guy trying to help people
Bonus is you don't have to clean a carb to use it after sitting in storage, and the batteries fit may other DeWalts.

I ordered one of these and the new 20v grinder just wish they would hurry up and get here

Found it for $150 bare tool, $230 with a battery. I have 3 5 amp batteries so I'll be getting this in the future.

Will the black charger work on the flexvolt batteries?

I wonder if the 12ah battery will fit?
It will, 9ah and 12ah batteries are the same size
Are you gonna do a test review on it? I'm thinking of purchasing one.
Edwin H yes, Ill try to upload another video by tommorow

Robert Ortega I'm going to try and upload a video of it in action tomorrow
You said 5 volt battery, think you meant 5 amp 20 volt battery.
I just uploaded a video of this chainsaw in action, check my page its there
