I think it would be strange if it were "just" the trickster. I mean, why have the walls be opened for the toymaker and co, only for the villain to be one who was already kinda there?
I agree, there is going to be more of them, potentially into the next season as if they can't undo the superstition at the end of the universe thinggy.. well supernatural is in doctor who for.. well ever..

I think it's the Black Guardian, cause the White Guardian warns the Doctor, he will wait for the 3rd meeting, and he's the only one as powerful to be a threat also to the Toymaker.
It would be awesome if it was the Guardians.. I'm just happy we are finally going to have a Finale without The Master, Daleks or Cybermen it's always them 😂
@@TardisTalks and somehow it made sense if the Guardians were behind the Timeles Child, when they sent the Doctor to the universe to bring fairness and order, while the Master was from the Black Guardian to fight against the Doctor. Or what do you think?
In The Giggle, doesn’t the Toymaker mention defeating the Guardians? I can’t remember the wording used.
@@Mandrozani no, he said "God", he never mentioned Guardians. Beside according to some Fandom Wiki, the Toymaker is a Guardian himself, but not sure where this is mentioned and how official this is.

He is not a time lord he is of a god. I may have got it the wrong way round. Hecuba is Ruby's mum, and the trickster is Mrs flood.
Interesting theory. Is Hecuba even the “time” embodiment being that Jodi’s doctor faced in her final arc? So far this season the Doctor has been fighting the embodiments of concepts. Could be interesting
I had someone else comment and ask a similar thing and it could be cool for RTD to use this to tie the timeless child arc in even more :P
@@TardisTalks The other thing playing out in my mind is Triad=Susan theory. Personally I thought Susan may be Mrs. Flood, but, again, who knows. Perhaps, much like Clara, Susan entered the doctor's timestream while looking for him and was split across time and space. The line between Donna and Mel about "using Triad" was a reference planted line, no reason for it otherwise. You could take it out and nothing would have changed. It's the "we planned this overlap" nod, like "the woman in the shop" between 11 and 12. There are a lot of possible answers here, and honestly, i'm intrigued by all of them.

F5ss's theory that it isn't just The Trickster who is working alone (if he does end up appearing in the season finale), is extremely plausible, as I spotted a post by another Whovian about Susan Triad (the woman who has been following Ruby and the Doctor), and they said that one of the meanings of the word "Triad", is pyramid, so they reckoned that a possible returning villain was Sutekh, who was trapped in a pyramid on Mars and became strongly associated with him. However, to add to that theory, I wouldn't be surprised if the Great Intelligence was somehow involved as well. In the 1968 serial, "The Web of Fear", the Great Intelligence ordered his Robot Yetis to build a machine that would extract the Doctor's knowledge from his brain. The machine ended up resembling a pyramid. Even though the Great Intelligence was seemingly killed when Clara jumped into the Doctor's time stream, since he was basically a God, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he was still alive somehow. The Godlike villains in Doctor Who are known to be extremely hard to kill.
So, Hecuba, The Trickster, Sutekh and The Great Intelligence could all be involved in the plot somehow, especially since they would know never to fight alone against the Doctor and his companions, after having been badly defeated before.

Maybe the doctor is part of the pantheon, the embodiment of healing maybe? Seeing as the pantheon and the doctor are the only people to break the 4th wall
Yeah, I am sure I mentioned this in the theory but I literally don't know how I feel about the doctor literally becoming a god.. we have kinda been there.
I was thinking the doctor is LIFE as we're going to be meeting death.

I've personally always waited for a episode where the doctor becomes so infamous that the human race creates a TV show aka 'Doctor Who?' (added question mark for slight difference) just always thought it'd be fun as they could record cheap versions of the doctors journeys to be played in the background.

Was a Audio Adventure for The Lost Stories released in 2012, the adventure is called The Queen of Time just incase you want to go have a exploration 😉, I done a good bit of research into her but I've yet to fully listen to the BIG FINISH audio drama. But thank you 😁.
Its Me! Me was the only one waiting at the end of the universe for the Doctor. Or it could be Clara's reanimated Corpse. Time can be rewritten and all that 😮
3:32 If you have the ability to change the past is it necessary to change memories. To change what was remembered you simply change what happened.
If the past was changed it would alter the memory.. so potentially ruby does not have powers and its the timeline being changed but there is still potential that ruby could have memory changing abilities.
Was holding out for it to be Susan to be the want that waits but know I think it’s more likely to be some relaxation of the toy maker
The beauty is none of us really know, we can have our theories but until the episode airs we will never know so hold your hopes high because Susan may have turned to the dark side and she is the one who waits..

The Rani was excilled from galafrey before it was destroyed so she survived the time war. I know there is litigation behind The Rani but there could be a loophole due to the fact the rights are co owned by disney. Disney could of even of bought the rights they have the money for it
Also the Christmas special is penned to air on the 22nd of December. it will be celebrating the 40th yeah anniversary and its on a Sunday. Do you know what you get someone for their 40th anniversary? Rubies. I don't think we will get the answers to rubys origin until the xmas special
Also the Rani would have motive to recover that master as they were allies. unwilling allies but they were both haters of the doctor
I doubt they would dig up an audio only villain but you never know. I wouldn't be suprised if it was Fenric as Maestro referred to the first one and Fenric was the last to remain after Good splintered itself to create the universe. Being the essence of Evil it would be too big for the Toy Maker to play with.
Yeah but if RTD was doing his research into The Toy maker for the script this is where he would have also found out Hecuba existed too.. Making it possible 😊 he is a big huge fan boy so probably already knew about her anyway.

The Queeen of Time could be River Song, Romana or The Rani.
Hmm.. it would be nice for any of these characters to come back but the queen of time is her own character so im not sure if that would actually really annoy fans..

This is complete speculation, but in RuPauls Drag Race, When Jinkx Monsoon won that season, she accepted the winners award for 'Hecuba' but Jinkx referred to Hecuba as the Queen of Witches!!! Is there a link?

Yeah I had that thought to but I think its just because all these "Pantheons" Better called Gods of Chaos seem to be one big distructive family so its calling us back to "The Family".
Interesting theory though i'm not sure RTD would delve so far into the extended media. We did get meep, though that was a fan favourite. i hope it is hecuba honestly, though im sure the eventual resolution will be more predictable.
If he wrote about the toy maker and created maestro, RTD will know about Hecuba as he would have had to dive into the Pantheon of Discord history within the show to make sure everything was accurate, I could be wrong and this is at the end of the day just a theory but I hope it is Hecuba too.

I would say that she can't be the oldest one that Maestro is talking about as Maestro clearly says him/he in relation to that character.
The rest of the theory is interesting and sound in the way you have explained it and in relation to Susan Twist. Again I don't have knowledge of big finish so can't really comment more.
I actually forgot about what maestro fully said so that circles me back to The Trickster for the oldest one then.. I men he certainly looks it 😂

@@TardisTalks I am inclined to go with either Trickster or possible fenric as the oldest one. My immediate thought on seeing the hand on the hooded figure and the fact the memory has been doctored was the Trickster.

Look to be honest you lost me a little however I will say its definitely the Trickster as in SJA the trickster states she waited. I also believe that Ruby would obtain other means of time travel and find out who her mother is by going to the day on Ruby Road and the Trickster will feed of her changing points in time. Regardless I'm very hopeful it's going to be a great story 🎉
Im hopeful the trickster is at least involved in some way as they are easily one of the greatest villians to have ever had the plesure to be on screen within the Whoniverse.
