Our new badminton center needs a LOT of networking for things like speakers, access to the building, and of course blazing fast internet speeds. But we also need to power all of this in the event of an outage, which is where EcoFlow comes in.

@@chrisneighbors1548 I'd love to see this!
From a guy who works with fiber lasers: If y’all plan on using fiber cables frequently I’d recommend getting a splicer. The one I use is a Sumitomo Electric Type-Q101-CA. You will simply be fusing the two fibers together. It won’t affect performance and idiot proof. Splicer will tell you if it’s a good or bad splice and what Db lose you have. Splicing and putting on a splice protector is significantly easier and more reliable than those fast connect.
They were just trying to convert from one type of connector to another. By far the easy way to do that is to buy a short cable with different connectors in each end and use an adapter to connect them together. Will only cost you a few dollars and requires no skill or equipment at all. They should get some fiber cleaning gear however. Dirty connectors is the number one problem in fiber installations.

that little mini map for tracking where we are in the building is so frickin cool! big ups to whoever came up with that.
Originally, I was going to comment about the lack of harness in a scissor lift, but as it turns out, per Canadian federal law, harnesses are not required on scissors if they have guardrails.
However, most provinces require harnesses with non shock absorbing lanyards, but work safe BC does not require fall protection in scissor lifts, Ontario on the other hand, requires fall protection in any sort of mobile work platform, regardless of if it’s elevated or not.
Not familiar with BC legislation but for Manitoba, the only exception to the harness requirement is if you're not driving the scissor lift. As long as the lift remains stationary, you can go as high as you want without a harness.

One thing I'll say relating to the doors is to make sure _every_ door can be opened from the inside manually, no software or electricity required. You don't want somebody getting stuck on the inside in case of emergency, or even just from a software bug!

@@MultiKylieminogue Good for you. Though how is that relevant to my comment you're replying to?
Single suite renovation/installation as depicted in this video is NOT "enterprise-level tech." The server/networking videos are definitely fun and arguably the most interesting LTT content (with the all-time most interesting LTT content being the original moving vlog series), but they definitely are not enterprise grade. The 24 hour access control is arguably the closest they come to an enterprise level issue, and they gloss over the subject for sake of keeping a relatively long video on pace.

"Flex" in France we have 8gbit up and 8gbit down (It's also available in the US, but only in select areas and it's really expensive, like at least $150 over Google Fiber),
WiFi 7 with at least 4000mbit (tested with Xiaomi 13T pro and S24 Ultra),
with NETFLIX, Amazon Prime, Max (and another paid tv channel only in France that's like 15€ a month),
4K HDR TV box and 200 TV channels included (optional Apple TV 4K with the same benefits if you prefer that)
ALL that for less than the price of just 1gbit internet in the US ($65)

Like holy heck, the amount of safety violations in that 30 second clip, lmao.
Not required. At least in the US

The access control is a super cool concept. I’m not sure exactly what amenities or programs you’ll have in the building, but the potential is endless.
Say I’m playing badminton and decide I want to go play in the VR room. I just hop on the app, purchase access for $12 a month, and it updates my key in real time. Only downside is you’ll always have the biggest challenge in security, people. Not sure how you’re going to prevent someone from just standing by the door until someone leaves and letting themselves in.
This is next level animation utility. Really helpful to be able to understand where we are at each time.
If you have not already, please put in some SFP blank covers in the vertical mounted fiber switches to prevent the empty slots getting filled with dirt/dust over time.

I love that after all these years, I still would not trust the LTT team to wire any professional location - but they make it funny 🤣

3:25 That fire sprinkler is so nicely head high...
Blue Avus M5 casually sits there 0:02
This video was extremely useful. After 4 years of using Unifi in my house and hooking up friends and family's homes with it, I'm tacking a much bigger project of revamping my church's network, Wifi, cameras and door access. And while it will pale in comparison to the scope of this LTT project, a lot of those pieces will still end up in my design. And there are little reminders to use G5 Domes in places they could be tampered with, versus G5 Turrets that can absolutely be more easily screwed with if they aren't high up. Can I do everything myself? No, I will need some professional help on wiring (especially outdoors) and camera mounting. But door access installation is probably best left to someone who does this for a living. But everything else I can do and manage.
That E60 M5 just chilling in your parking lot. Lol.
No helmet, no fall arrest on the scissor lift, OH&S going to be big mad 🤣
As long as you're not doing something stupid (like climbing up onto the guardrails) or leaving the lift while in the air, you shouldn't need fall arrest on a scissor lift. The rails are high enough to prevent you from falling out and there's no articulation (as there is in boom lifts) that could potentially tip you out. Speaking as someone who hits their head about 80% of the time I'm using a lift of any kind, a helmet wouldn't be a bad idea though.
Also, OSHA has no jurisdiction over Canada (no idea what equivalent they have in the frozen north).
@@johnkohniii2894also OSHA does not require to be tied off in a scissor lift either
No safety glasses in an active construction site, shorts on a job site, someone is using a ladder and no 3 points of contact, doing a task not trained to do. This video is great for safety people. (Also for everyone saying OSHA is not in Canada, BC has the equivalent called OH&S. It's more strict than OSHA).
Wohhh, that camera transition at 26:25 looks really nice. I like the different angle but its so much clearer. Different Camera? Its a much cleaner, lower noise, than the main camera.
Just as a security thing, the wide open strike plates can be somewhat problematic as they often don't stop the deadlatch of the door mechanical lock. This is important as the deadlatch is what stops you from slipping the latch on the door and so bypassing the lock.

12:11 I would suggest more than blanking panels. Like rails that connect to the rear of the rack as well and installing the devices onto those rails.
Also I don't get how they expect 1U equipment installed in those slots to strengthen anything, it wouldn't make any difference to the part which was actually bending.
@@harrysmbdgs Egh it would have SOME effect, Harder for metal to buckle/bow if you are holding the top and bottom at a set distance from each other, would still flex but less than it was.
I suspect it's mainly designed around half length stuff being in the 1U side spaces and at the top/middle where there's more support and full length servers on rails being everywhere else minimizing the flex/weight issues.
Could they not simply install some of the server units into those vertical slots instead of only using the horizontal slots?

Absolutely love the Ubiquiti access kit, One problem I have found with it is the phone support. It would be amazing if its app enabled NFC like competitors on the market do by allowing you to touch your phone to the access terminal. Its fine to open the app and click the button, or scan a NFC card, but one less click is one less click, and one less card is one less card.
We have found with some phones this can work, and others it wont, all comes down to how the phone handles communication when contacting another device.
