Thanks for the video. I was told not to use Vaseline because it breaks down the rubber seals. Instead, I use a silicone lubricant. This particular one is by Super Lube labeled as Silicon Lubricating Compound with Syncolon. A small amount goes a long way. Happy fish keeping.
Leslie Pools sells a water some water lube / Seal that are made for pool equipment. Perhaps some of the big box hardware stores might sell that too. Maybe you can use that Water lube / seal on every place where air can get in. Use it on the thermometer area, quick filter area, the water connection area, and the seal around the main container. That would seal out any air from getting in. Ever considered putting some water in the filter before you prime the filter? Food for thought. The sponges will retain air when you put it back together, wet the sponges before putting them back in the canister. I enjoyed watching your video. Best of luck troubleshooting your problem. I’m watching this video closely, because I will getting the same filter very soon.
I've used the petroleum jelly on all filter gaskets on multiple Oase filters. I layer the stuff on every time I pull it apart and clean it. I have not added holes to the prefilter tube.
I havevthe 600 non thermo and it is constant purging. Almost no flow. I did the intake tube mod, its not that. This filter is junk. Never had any cannister do this Never. Gonna call the company and rip them. My FX 6 is quiet and has zero issues. Doesn't cost much more, but waasy better. Never again Oase. Overpriced crap

I usually do fill it back to thr top b4 running it again with water, than use the pump to create the vacuum. It did stop the bubbles after about a day
