There is NO demand, no market for women’s half court bball in America, little enough for women’s full court. Nike looks at Unrivaled (as if) and knows it’s a corpse. Caitlin’s brand, the strongest in the world right now, takes a hit if she signs on with this loser. Head to head with the NFL? They’ll play in front of hundreds if they’re lucky. TV? ESPN8. Maybe. Nobody wants this except the players invited. Kelsey Plum and her three fans? I’ll be amazed if Unrivaled makes it to a 2nd season.

Kate Martin said she had a basketball job. I expect that to be B1G announcing probably in studio. CC is not a part of this league. Aaliyah Edwards most definitely is going to be in this league. Geno Auriemma is a investor. UCONN players over everyone else. UCONN hates CC. Except Katie Lou Samuelson. Sue Bird is a part owner in the Storm so she keeps her real feelings to herself. Very professional. Too bad Jen Rizzotti UCONN point guard, Sun President and head of the Olympic Committee could not be professional.
There is zero % chance she will be in this league. The only way this league survives is if CC props it up. CC has haters in this league. Geno Auriemma(Investor) Breanna Stewart, Naphessa Collier and Grifter Barbie. Sue Bird and her wife, the blue hair Rapinoe are also investors. I do not think CC wants any part of spending 8 weeks around Grifter Barbie. Mick you are confusing CC with this nice down to earth get along mid western gal. She is very firm with who she associates with. She will give you a chance until the chance runs out. She knows her value and is vicious in her business dealings through her agent. She is very selective with whom she signs the dotted line with. She only has a handful of sponsors and that is deliberate. Whereas the Grifter Barbie has taken money from whoever offers it up. There is one investor that CC does like. Ashton Kutcher who is from Iowa went to U of Iowa. Steve Nash is also an investor.

It is already Reese and Martin confirmed to play, the other two will be Jackson and Muhl. This is not Clarks style of game and it fits Muhl better then Clark.

I went down a rabbit hole recently and came to the conclusion that CC will NOT sign with Unrivalled.
I even have a new theory: She will sign with Athletes Unlimited instead. Why? Mainly because CC has never played 3x3 and AU's investors include Nike, Gatorade, and Topps. I believe she refused to sign with Unrivalled and that is part of why some of their investors (Megan Rapinoe, Geno, UConn people) have all recently started bashing CC, both her talent and her impact on basketball. Also, CC's so-called friends and fans Ashton Kutcher and LPGA Michelle Wie West, who we saw earlier this season, are also investors.
That's my theory of what's going on behind the scenes anyway.

I just don't see CC playing in these off brand start up leagues. She has enough money, is the face of the "W" (and gets hated for that), enjoys her off time etc. Not worth it IMO.

I think you are overestimating how much money she gets she signed a 8 year 28 million dollar deal. That’s 3.5 million a year, after taxes, agents fee’s etc… that money comes down to probably like 1.5-1.8 million a year lol. If she can make a few extra hundred thousand a year or get a % via ownership of a new start up league it’s 100% a smart decision.

I get annoyed too because they do the same with Sabrina. If a screen is involved in the play they consider it not a iso play. While I consider any dribble drive type action as iso because screens only work half the time.

Someone has a choice between a college football game or an NFL game or an NBA game and the unreal league? It’s almost guaranteed a ratings failure. The only reason the WNBA is getting ratings right now. Is people want to tune in to see what Clark is doing and there’s nothing else going on right now. Last 10+ years nobody watches baseball except the playoffs and there’s absolutely nothing else.

If they get a tv deal, and play on the right days at the right times there could definitely be viewers, football isn’t played 24/7 everyday of the week. It’s mainly on sundays, that leaves 6 other days for the most part. The women’s game has gained a lot of fans this year, I truly believe that are a good number of fans that would watch a wnba game over an nba game now, not a lot but a solid amount.

IMHO it's a PR leverage move coz speculation brings the eyes abt CC but I doubt #22 plays in the new league. I could list all the reasons why I doubt CC joins. Then again, I may be wrong.
All good players need this league. It exposes everyone's weaknesses! Good players only practice what they already do well. Great players practice their weaknesses until they become strengths!

I hope it doesn't happen. It's still a business and she's still new. People that think she's lucky to be playing with the old guard would have to give her majority ownership of the league. If she had been in for years already, she might be able to be more charitable in spite of being the obvious reason why people would watch. I highly doubt it, CC is smart & loyal. The WNBA is her "dependant", she's always talking about growing the game. Currently even a blind man can see the WNBA is in a shaky position(being nice). Her endorsements next year alone will more than make that money up easily. if she took a position on 3v3 league her brand would take a massive hit. The Unrivaled league will be dead in 3 years or less.
