There was never a point where Reese looked like the rookie of the year over Caitlin. And that whole conversation was going to come to an end after their third meeting if Sides hadn’t decided to throw that game away in the second half. Because the fever was blowing the sky away like they did in the last game, until Sides decided to let Reese abuse the weakest link on the team and had a great game by her standards. Which also kept that whole talk going.

Mick, I don't care how many times you say it (even though I know you're pandering for clicks), it NEVER made sense to have Angel Reese over Caitlin Clark for rookie of the year! The only statistical metric that favored Reese was rebounding. Clark led in everything else. Plus, when you factor in responsibilities on the court, usage rate, the type of defensive coverage that each one faced etc. it was ALWAYS A NO-BRAINER. No Mick, it wasn't really justifiable to have Reese as the ROY frontrunner at any point this season. Here's their exact stats that McNutt based her initial ROY discussion off of, which was on the morning on July 5th, which was close to the end of Reese's double-double streak and thus when the ROY race was just about the closest it got:
    - Clark (in 21 gms): 16.0 ppg, 5.7 reb, 7.1 ast, 1.3 stl, 0.8 blk, 5.6 to; 39.1% FG, 33.7% 3s, 88.5% FT
    - Reese (in 18 gms): 13.2 ppg, 11.8 reb, 2.1 ast, 1.4 stl, 0.2 blk, 1.8 to; 39.7% FG, 0% 3s, 74.2% FT
Even at that point, Reese was certainly not actually better than Clark overall stat-wise; at best one could say that it was perhaps too close to call, if being generous to Reese. But in reality, Clark was still generally ahead of Reese back then.

I find it HILARIOUS that they're making such a big deal about Reese's double doubles , I've been watching and I played basketball for awhile and NOBODY ever gave a shit about it until reese comes along now it's a big deal, I'll bet money most if not all couldn't have told you who held the record the previous season until they had to find out so they could make reese relevant

Mick, I agree with you that I like to see them now on the Caitlin bandwagon, but they don’t have the same energy for her when it comes to MVP convo or WNBA First team, that’s when they pull back on the praise

Oh it's so hard to admit it. So they give CC credit along with the rest of the team. The whole team deserves credit but CC should be singled out for being the catalyst.

How Caitlin's adjusted to the speed of the game? What's she talking about? Caitlin's had to slow down to adjust to Side's half-court MO and the typical WNBA play. This was a back-handed compliment at best, and truthfully a way of NOT saying '...we were wrong...." Nobody on that panel said she was wrong. And McNutt, as per her usual MO, has to bring A'ja into the conversation to devalue Caitlin. None of the Caitlin-hating choir at ESPN's WNBA choir has said she is wrong. But it's so blatantly dishonest to continue to devalue Caitlin's accomplishments that they would look foolish to continue to do it. Can you spell 'disingenuous'?

Stop being a Caitlin Clark fan dude. We know she can play and also watch football instead of women complaining about Caitlin Clark for crying out loud🙄

League, former players, media all made this a fake rivalry. Using AR was wrong. Everyone involved should be held accountable. This was so obvious and still people fed in to it Embarrassing and disrespectful that they thought the world would accept it. Stop the madness and lies Truth and facts will one day again mean something 😂

Even when the WNBA gets a pay increase because of Caitlin impact most WNBA players ,coaches, and certain analysts will not give her any credit.

Someone has to have the stat of how many turnovers were attributed to her teammates dropping or just not being ready for amazing passes?!
Yea, Clark makes enough dumb turnovers on her own, but it was definitely inflated from her teammates not being reliable.

It is great that they are coming around, but their pandering doubletalk is a bit nauseating and self serving. Their egos won’t allow them to say, ‘I had this wrong’.
