beau brummel I just purchased one from Harbor Freight. I want to do a vertical mount. Have you thought about a manual clutch from Sportsman? I’m pretty lost on clutches/gearing.
@@st.paulmn9159 Vertical mount is one way to go, it won't work on a Phatmoto because of jack shaft, but will on other bikes. I have never heard of a Sportsman manual clutch, I'll check it out. For gearing pay attention to rear gear tooth count, the higher the count the less top end speed , but better acceleration. The lower the count the higher top end, but less take off power. Centrifugal clutches usually come with 10, 11, or 12 teeth.
Any recommendations I make are strictly my opinion, it is what I have done. It is what has worked for me. You need to do your research and make the upgrades or changes that fit your situation and riding style.
I got mine coming Wednesday lol can't wait! Best part is that plate should work for the p212 and the p79 and a handful of other motors! I been worried about how it would fit tring to build my own but I've never done anything like that before and failed 3 different times figured a way to "make" it work but it would have looked shity.. this mount is crazy clean! And now im tring to find the stage 2 kit for the p79 but i can't they have a new flywheel springs taps etc you can buy everything separately but the flywheel.. if i cant find it going with some 18lbs springs i think. I removed Governor and have a nice free flow exhaust with screw on muffler + a 22mm carb from AGK
The whole idea was to mount the P79 on the Phatmoto without making any modifications to the stock Phatmoto. You can install the P79 without the adapter and plate, by fabricating your own mounts easily, but it would require drilling and altering the Phatmoto. Which is fine also, if that is what you want to do. One word of caution however, your mount needs to be strong, a stack of washers with a bolt, drilled near the edge of the stock plate maybe isn't the best way of doing it. At least fab up some thick steel pieces of angle iron or square tube. Its optimum to slightly raise the rear of engine to gain clearance for valve cover and clear fuel shut off.

No, but I could, I'm using the brand new shoes and internals from a 5/8 41 clutch with the original drum from my stock 415 Phatmoto. I couldn't use the brand new 41 chain clutch because the 41 chain was to short. So temporarily I'm doing this. As soon as I get more 41 chain then I'll use it. It does work on the stock jack shaft. There is one vendor that has a max torque clutch with the 415 size chain. They normally sell for $79, but are on sale for $50 right now. I think it is gokartsupply.com that has it. Okay, being just mechanical the things you did, it could be a couple of things. If it starts and runs for a short period it is usually a fuel issue. So when inside of engine you lined up the timing marks on cam gear and crankshaft gear, right? Also did you make sure pushrods are still inside the rocker arm cups inside the valve cover, right? If those things are still good, it is usually a fuel delivery issue, its possible the valves are to tight that will cause it to not start. But it sounds like a fuel issue with the carburetor. Make sure you have the choke off, sometimes owners get it confused with which is on and off,

Can you give me any advice on this. I am about 230 pounds and although the stock motto pulls me around pretty good its not that great on take off and on some bigger hills it bogs a little. Thanks in advance brother and definitely keep making videos.....
Hi Michael, thanks for watching. Yes, the P212 cc swap is a option along with a Honda OHC. You don't mention which model you have (All Terrain or Rover) so the Honda can only be done on the AT. A few things to know about the P212 swap. You will need special mounts, you'll need to notch 2 " out of lower engine block to allow for room to install engine. You'll need a 3/4 " bore clutch or a CVT torque converter. The stock air filter and exhaust are bulky and in the way, so they'll need replaced. The P 212 puts out 6.5+ hp, and a ton of torque so it adds extra strain to drive chain and rear wheel hub. Spokes and axles have failed. Also the fuel petcock needs to be modified because of clearances. The Honda 190 cc puts out the same h.p. but more torque and can very easily be installed in the AT, it has more head room in engine bay. If you go over to the facebook group I moderate, you can see at least 20 P212 cc swaps, along with 6 or 7 Honda 190 cc swaps. The info there is enormous, and if you own a Phatmoto it is the go to place when needing info on mods, repairs etc. Phatmoto Builds/Mods & Info is the name of the group. Come on over and check out the bikes, it'll help you decide your options.
Go power sports still sells the aluminum adjustable plate, but they no longer sell the wedge aluminum plate. Instead they replaced it with a all steel wedge plate, that is much longer and has the front curled under for easy access to bolts. One member attempted to use it with not so good results. He started cutting and butchering the plate till it was useless. I do believe I can fit it and make it work and am tempted to acquire one and do it to show how its done.
No, they don't make an aftermarket exhaust for the Lifan 152F-3 stock engine. Some guys have successfully modified a 2/4 stroke kit exhaust to fit. The Lifan actually has 2 sets of exhaust stud hole you can use. Once you pull off the stock muffler you can see them. Some have cut the flange off a 2/4 stroke exhaust and had it re welded to clear. Its not an easy deal to pull off.
@@beaubrummelmotorizedbicycles Thanks for the quick reply. I have a tig welder so I have the ability to make something. I just couldn't find anyone who already had something made that was easily bolted on and ready to go. The hardest part about exhaust making is bending the tubing smoothly. I have the phatmoto bike coming but the stock exhaust looks like it blows right on the leg. I also thought it would be nice to move the noise behind me as well. I'm already half deaf as it is. Haha.
You realize the Lifan engine has a metal flywheel and the predator has a plastic one. It's another 100 buxplus for a billet for the hf motor. Don't go above 5k on the tach
To tell you the truth I've never ever heard of a plastic flywheel, aluminum, cast iron, yes. But plastic no. The purpose of a flywheel is to spin magnets around for the magneto to produce spark and to help balance the crankshaft so the engine doesn't beat it self to death. I have seen plastic cooling fins on flywheels for added cooling. Also the only billet aluminum flywheel for the P79cc engine is rare. Affordable go karts sometimes has them but will only fit them if you send your engine to them for alteration. The P212 cc has numerous billet flywheels available but it has a 3/4 crankshaft as opposed to the P79cc which has a 5/8 crankshaft. There have been reports of the cast iron flywheel exploding at excess of 5,000 to 6,000 rpm's, although few have presented evidence, I do believe its possible and maybe has happened. I don't plan on going above 5,000 rpm anyway. If you can show me the so called plastic flywheel I'd be happy to acknowledge it. Oh as a post script the valves usually start to float at 5,000 rpm's which causes loss of compression which means you don't spin it any faster than that. Also I am more concerned that a con.rod or other internal stock piece would break long before said plastic flywheel comes apart, but thank you for your concern.
