Absolutely wonderful video Daniel. A real pleasure meeting you on Tuesday. Your Wolverton idea is fantastic with the sweeping curves. Looking forward to seeing your progress. Take care now and be in touch soon.
Hi Dan - excellent update and well built baseboards. You certainly know what you want in terms of layout design. Looking forward to see this layout progress. Cheers Euan
Cheers for the shout out, some good benchwork, looking forward to seing your version of the WCML in that area progress, I guess you might be putting more n brass catenary up but I agree you dont really need the wires, I havent bothered on mine.
Hi - just came across your channel and I am so glad I did. I will be following your progress eagerly, as I see you are using a DR5000 for control and that is what I have done. I am relatively new to it all so will be keen to see how you put the DR5000 to use. I will also be viewing your other builds, but am looking forward to your new build immensely. Thank you for uploading this! Regards Steve
@@greatdeltan6556 Dan - can I ask a question please? I am looking for a hand held controller to work with my DR5000. At the moment I am using the z21 app on my phone and / or the laptop. Would you know if a digitrax hand held would work or can you recommend a hand held controller that I can purchase? Any advice would be appreciated immensely! Regards, Steve
@@lynganddistrict I can't answer that personally I too use just my ipad at the moment. I may invest in a Roco handset in the future as the touchscreens temperament does get a little annoying at time and it's terrible for slow speed control
Great update. Love your plans for the layout. The base boards have turned out really good too nice and professionally built. Look forward to the next one. - Nicholas.
Sounds like you've got a cracking layout planned there and look forward to your new progress. And its thanks to you and a couple of others I have ventured into n gauge and I have a very nice 10ft ex exhibition layout and your not far from me as I'm only in Birmingham. Keep up the brill work. Great progress on the layout, the plan seems pretty solid to me, especially looking forward to seeing how the embankment and motorway section turns out. 👍
Another great video Daniel. Looks like a great space and a really interesting design. I’m not far from that section of WCML myself and also model in N gauge so look forward to seeing it develop.
Great video Dan, lots of interesting features for you to develop. I was wondering where you got your backscenes from as they look good. I’m trying to find a suitable 4 meter long one for my layout. Regards Jeff
A very enjoyable video and what a difference to the shed layouts. I am amazed at how quick you got this altogether, wish I had your motivation. What size are your backscreens? It looked really cold in there, are you going to heat it and are you worried about the track warping in hot weather? Looking forwards as usual to the next video. Regards Chris
The back scenes are 305mm high however some of them are cut down as there are different levels of height around the layout, it's very cold in there at the moment and I'll be leaving plenty of gaps for expansion room in the summer
Are you not concerned with a voltage drop on the DCC bus wire running full length - I've seen suggest that you run the wire both direction with the 2 ends at the point furthest from the feed.
@@greatdeltan6556 I don't think you want a ring - I believe that's a bad thing - just have the break in the loop equal distance from the feed. And make sure the track has insulating joiners at the same point as the break in the bus wire.
Lovely Jubbly, great imagination and I'm sure it's going to look very impressive when built. Have you thought of doing a few how to video's while your building your layout to help the less knowledgeable enthusiasts?
That looks like a sturdy table for your trains. Its a promising start
Great video mate 👍Look forward to following the progress.
excellent video - i remember standing on Wolverton Platform looking at the trains , and Looking and the royal train in the sidings .
It's a great place to watch a very busy section of line with some good viewing angles and a fair bit of variety with stock
Benchwork looks great. And I completely agree on the lighting. I seem to never have enough.
Can't beat good lighting

And you! I think we probably could've talked for a lot longer about everything, cheers
Looking great. Nice plans, thanks for sharing. Dave
Looks superb, you've given me a lot of food for thought in scrapping my fiddle yard in lieu of what you've done with that s curve! Joe
Can't be wasting space with a fiddle yard! I'll just to have to wake up at 5am if I want to get my container train loaded on the layout by midday

Yes I shall be going with N brass again, it's time consuming even making the gantries! I have plenty of Dapol single OHLE masts too

Excellent baseboard layout and electrics; your poor old car has nowhere to live now I assume. Lol
Car doesn't fit in the garage anyway!

The back scenes are by gaugemaster, a little out of scale for N gauhe but they still look fairly suitable

Dan, out of interest what is the height and track width of the raised viaduct area please - thanks, Ian
Height is about 70mm and width 160mm
What is the total width from track edge to track edge - also I take it you are using flexi track im sure I saw that but clarification - Many thanks
I think it's roughly 5 meters long ways and 2.4m width, the entire layout is Flexi track yes
