  • In celebration to the 212th anniversary of Franz Liszt. I did a recording on the day before his birthday, but there were technical problems in the audio. Since I had to record again, I miss the timing for his birthday (22 of October) by a few days.
In any case, this is a very special piece to me and I have been working on it forever. As for the tradition on my channel, I will write a very long description about the piece and my experience learning it later.

Thank you! Out of the three Petrarch sonnet inspired pieces that Liszt composed, this is my favorite. I love how much emotional contrast this piece has. Liszt was an absolute genius! I wish I could play more of his works, but they are so hard 😅

Hello Felipe, would you ever consider doing a re-recording of the Waltz Op.64 No.2 in C sharp minor of Chopin? I know you did a recording a few years ago on your Kawai K200 - it would be great to hear how you’ve progressed.

Yes, I hope to relearn it and do a better recording in the future. It is my favorite waltz (along with A minor, Op. 34 No.2, which I am working on right now). But, I don't know when I will do that, since I have several unfinished projects at the moment. Maybe in the beginning of the next year.
PS: just a correction, the waltz is Op.64 No.2. Op.62 has two late nocturnes, which I also want to play, but they would be too challenging for me at the moment.

@@FelipeCostaPiano That sounds great, I look forward to it! I apologise for the spelling errors. Op.64 is a lovely Waltz, I'm trying to learn it at the moment. I came across some of your videos because I wanted to sample the Kawai K200 tone. I am impressed and am going to try one out tomorrow and hopefully upgrade from my Digital Piano. Thank you for your response, I look forward to hearing more of your playing in the future.

@@hapaxlegomenon3725 Nice! That waltz is super satisfying to play. Have fun with it :)
The K200 is a nice upright, but keep in mind that each acoustic piano is unique. Kawai tend to be quite consistent in terms of quality, but there is some natural variability. If you can, try testing multiple pianos of the same model as well before making a decision. I did that with the K200 I used to have, picking up the best out of two that were available at my local store.
