    I have played with Dangerman before several times and I have literally seen him as the last man standing battling 20 people by himself and holding his own. Keep in mind the videos are for beginners. He was holding the ref like that because he was emphasizing the teacup position of the elbow to a beginner.

    Ty for the tips, i need to step up my game. I started playing with rental equipment my first year playing and have gotten lucky with a few kills here and there. I have since bought an Eclipse Etha with Rotor hopper and 68/4500 ninja hybrid tank. I am loving this marker, it is super light and very accurate..(compared to the rental stuff anyway)
    I just subscribed and will check out more of your videos, so keep them coming and thanks.

    I have not played in a few years but I am getting back into it. I used to play woodsball and I agree when certain speedball tactics don't work so well. I played against my friend steve who I eventually nicknamed him ghost, cause one minute he is right there in front, and the next he pops up behind me (alot of trees, brush, a big and wide ditch like area, and downed stumps is where we played up in Maine). He's a sneaky bastard, anyway I tried running up on him and he completely peppered me and I only got him one shot out of using nearly a whole hopper. 20 times I played against this guy and only got him once. He's a pretty good marksmen with his 98 custom. Speedballing can be used as suppression fire to pin down your opponents in woodsball though, but what happens after you run out of paintballs and you have six opponents start coming at you? I am not very experienced at Paintball but I only know what I learned, and one thing I learned from this video explains my inaccuracy back when I was playing. So when I go out in the woods this summer I am going to give this a shot and see if anything improves.

Also, Iove how you reply very calmly and respectable to users who try to disrespect you and hate on you. Most people would fight with them but you just answer very calmly. Very professional. Whoa whoa whoa. 4:19. God didn't give me good snapshooting skills. It's something that I've acquired through practice and different scenarios while playing the game. Also the rocking out technique does work well but your hopper does stick out farther from the bunker as opposed to other snapshooting methods.

    Tx Jon. For me the inline skating re-builds ankle support which doctors warned me I'd never get back after 8 ankle sprains from playing sports and semi-pro football years back. It is an activity few understand the benefits of. Zero knee impact, steel hard glutes and the lateral and dorsal flex strength is amazing. Skating hills changes it even more. I think if you want safety in paintball for feet, don' think which sports but what you wear. Check out Inov8's.

  • @jont3945
    @jont3945 11 лет назад

    keep up the good work. looking forward to a game on your field this fall. i was also thinking that being a skater gives you a strong foundation in paint ball the way your body weight transfers foot to foot. i am guessing you would agree? any other sports that you think support paintball? like base ball or hunting? oh and some more blooper reel would be awesome.

    Im new to paintball and I am about to buy a gun. Nothing too expensive, 150-200 range. Hoping to get a bundle that gives the hopper gun mask etc. I have a gun in mind that looks exactly like the m16. But then I see people like you, and pro paintballers who use smaller weapons like the one you are holding. Which would would you suggest? I would enjoy playing a more flexible or aggressive play style so I was thinking having something light would be better. Is there any pros and cons to having a bigger paintball gun?

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  8 лет назад

      You are NOT going to get a full rig at $200. A reasonable marker will go for no less than $150 used. Otherwise, Wal-Mart and that money is wasted as nothing there is built to take you far. Think short term planned obsolescence.

    • @skyyhudson1315
      @skyyhudson1315 8 лет назад +1

      you can get a cronus or gryphon bundle for less than 200 and they are decent first markers. Bottom line +jbowendaman for less than 200 you have to choose whether you want an electronic marker or a mechanical. I would recommend a mechanical since you can use co2 and dont need anything more than a gravity fed hopper which you would certainly not get for less than 200 which is what i think +dangerman was meaning but you dont need a electric gun to get into paintball 8/10 players start with cheap mechanicals if you want a mil sim feel find a basic cronus package and for a more modern marker feel id say get a gryphon both are made by tippmann so they are reliable and will last a lifetime as well as very little maintenance.

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  8 лет назад

      Skyy,I would say that is possibly the only marker at that price I can endorse. But I don't think of it as a growth oriented marker. My advice is buy something you don't need to replace but can grow around. But in the absence of that, sure why not.

    • @skyyhudson1315
      @skyyhudson1315 8 лет назад

      unless it's used you wont get any decent marker for 200.

    • @skyyhudson1315

    Your thoughts on stocks? I'm a newbie, but love the stability the stock brings... Downside is not being able to look straight down the barrel. I like the one shot, one kill mentality.... Though this is of course paintball with less than precise projectiles.

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  10 лет назад

      Stocks fit into the realm of mil sim in my humble opinion. For paintball, in tight play they are a liability in that they push both your eyes further from the sightline and further out of your bunker. If you honestly like the feel of a long range rifle for a hold then don't let anyone tell you that you can't play that way. After all it is the woods, and there are players that just like the hold of a rifle. I personally don't like stocks. I think from a practical use, they are counter to paintball needs. I've shared a bit on both points of view, so hopefully this insight allows you to make a better decision for yourself. Thanks for the support on the channel.

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  10 лет назад

      BTW, if you really like sniping, then consider a FIRST STRIKE mil sim gun. First strike rounds are projectiles and more accurate as opposed to paintballs which are ballistics and have limited accuracy range.

    • @jonthekiwi
      @jonthekiwi 10 лет назад

      Thanks for the (super quick) response!! The first strike rounds are probably out of my range... But I took your advice and tried it without the stock, and it was much easier to aim.
      Thoughts on red dots?? Just for lazy players, of has its merits?
      Thanks for the great channel!!

    • @DangerManXX

      In that video, I won't say what it was because I was not happy with the report of that marker. It was like a cannon. My three markers I love are the Mini, Axe and DSR. I am sponsored by Dye, but the DSR is a marker you buy once and you are set. What makes it special is the consistency and efficiency. Consistency is CRITICAL. It is KING. If your first, second, third, fourth and fifth shots are all let's say... 277, 279,276,277,278,277, then imagine what your accuracy will be. Many other things play out from this too. I have numerous videos that go over these things, but if you have the means, the DSR is hands down the working man's tournament gun. I'm a one baller and it is super quiet and when I need to roll paint it is super soft on paint. Having a marker that just doesn't bo down on you is priceless. So I can't speak enough good about the DSR. I have a full review on it at DangerMansLair.com if that helps. Also, as for what gun to buy...I have a new book coming out this week on Amazon. DangerMan's Paintball Bible. If you wait until Wednesday or Thursday, I address what factors impact how you know what gun to own. But you can PM me anytime and I'll share what I can to help.

    How do you like the blue mirror lens for the profit? As far as for woodsball, do they stick out like sore thumbs, or do they blend in reasonably well?

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  11 лет назад

      There is often a lot of over-emphasis on look or what to wear in paintball. I go against convention quite often because after almost 15 years playing, you find out that many of the little things are in fact little. From wearing over-sized jerseys (I stitch mine to fit), to shiny lenses. I like the blue lenses. I like mirrored lenses in general but I keep coming back to clear lenses for woods for the obvious reason. I can see better. This is one area where fashion does hold you back.

      Agreed. My $140 outfit of basic sale gear does everything I need it to.
      All you could ever want is a good sport base layer and entry level clothes.
      Where I don't spend the money on my clothes, I invest in a low to mid range electric marker and hopper.

    • @SuperWAZZZZZZUP
      @SuperWAZZZZZZUP 10 лет назад

      Pick an Axe as they don't way as much as a x7. Also the Axe can be more useful in speedball than an x7. I would say get a mask first, Then an electronic hopper, Then an air tank and then a Marker. That's the way how I've done it and so has all my friends!

  • @Curret

    I have recently purchased an Invert mini, and I was curious about what size and brand tank would you suggest?

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  10 лет назад

      Go with what you feel your game requires. I go with a stubby as I like a super short profile. Many speedballers will go with a standard 68. They believe and they are not wrong, that the length works best for a gun hold. I'm not married to one belief. So if you like a small profile, then follow my logic. You won't run out of air. Every field does refills between games and I've never run out. Not even during a full day scenario game as there too you get refills as needed.

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  10 лет назад

      There is no 'best brand' in a universal sense. Good brands that meet the specific playing styles or needs come up a lot. Tippmann for new players, woodsballers and people that need customer care after a sale is a name that I'll often throw out there. In cross over play for intermediate players, other brands come up. It's very hard to make suggestions in a one type fits all application. Budget concerns, and so many other factors come up. But if you are just starting, I soundly suggest a Tippmann. The A-5 or Phenom will get you some milage.

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  10 лет назад

      They are good. Many upper echelon players shoot them. I can't say there is 'one' best brand. I'm glad there are a few in that many paintball companies struggle, it's good to just have them still in business to serve us years after they start.

    Does paintball actually hurt? cause my parents kept saying it hurts but then I see him with only a shirt and also saw someone with their shirt off

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  4 года назад

      Hurt and pain are strong words. We associate hurt and pain with being cut or the pain of a broken arm when in fact a hit from a paintball at it's worst impact is more like flicking your finger against bare skin times a few. And then only fleeting. No be stings, needles or snapped towels. But yes, for lack of a better word, they 'can' hurt.
      Visit my site DangerMansLair.com. Read the article DO PAINTBALLLS HURT and PAINTBALL PAIN SCALE 1-10. Let your parents read them and tell me their response.
      The jackass style RUclips videos of people with welts only happens because those players do that on purpose.
      Paintball field owners have learned over time to PROTECT new players and create games, and environments to keep you safe. It includes referees that BELIEVE they same.
      Established players do the same. You will find real paintball is fun because it's not painful. It's got a safer health record than bowling. The injuries that do occur are "athletic" injuries. i.e twisted ankles.
      Visit my digital magazine site. You will learn a lot. I even have a book that teaches you years of skill in short order. Tx

  • @DangerManXX
    @DangerManXX  11 лет назад

    If you can switch hands and the hold is natural both ways, then go for it.
    Remember, in the woods, people are shooting from a VERY long range. You could practically play dodge ball with paintballs in the woods. All the talk about tilting your loader in is unfounded. YES, if you are close range AND on an angled bunker - tilt it in. As for you, if it feels awkward, then you either have to re-learn or play to your current strength.

    hi I have a tippmann woodsball gun with a stock and wondering what length romote line should I get? Btw I at the tank at the middle of my back.

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  9 лет назад

      I tried that set up many years ago when I started. It's really a matter of personal preference. I personally think if you honestly want to go that direction, go the shortest you can get. You are already going to need to occasionally deal with it getting caught up in branches or other objects if you crawl etc... I'm of the school less is more. Consider this too, with a remote line you will at times want to free hand gun or switch hands and more. A remote line isn't so much as freedom as it is at giving you a compact hold. However if and when you can afford it, you can get that compact hold with a small marker and a small tank such as a mini gs and a stubby tank. Some even go pump or pistola. Again, your personal needs trump all but I'm trying to give you thought to consider.

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  10 лет назад

      Moving up is based on various things you consider all in seconds. How many have a lane on where you are headed? Catch them napping as in they are bunkered in, not up and ready to shoot. Is there adequate blockage to interrupt any shots in on you as you move. Is there an existing fire fight that you can take advantage of? How far is the bunker? Can you spool up to top running speed inside two steps and if so, how long do you need to maintain it? Can you slide into your bunker or do you have to slam into it standing? So many variables... Is the bunker even one you really want? Imagine yourself before you get there. I could go on... Can you shoot your way to it? Meaning can you give yourself your own cover fire? Hope these help.

      Alex. LOL.... I get this question so much. I honestly need to do a video on just running down what I shoot with and link it each time this question pops up. But let me be clear. I'm flattered you and everyone asks.
      Here is the situation. We all have our own shooting style and game type preference. My rig is suited to my needs. I'll share why and you can decide if you want to go that route.
      I am a minimalist. I love a compact profile too. That means from top to bottom and from front to back I want my marker compact so that I may move about it in a bunker with ease. I can draw on a subject quicker etc...
      My marker is an Empire Axe. An original build. Not the new expensive version. It ran $450 new. You can get one used now for around $200. The new versions will cost a bit more. In fact the new upgraded Axe is about $800 retail. My Axe has two mods. One is an upgrade, the other is a cosmetic mod. The cosmetic mod is the body. It's a Ripper Body based on the Bob Long Intimidator (affectionately called a Timmy) with Ripper body. The ripper body has been used on other Bob Long markers since then. In fact I have a Bob Long Insight with a Ripper body for tournament play. That Ripper mod is available through a sponsor of mine, Inception Designs. I implore you to learn about this company. The CEO and owner is active on Facebook in their group. You'll love what they do and find the paintball insiders love this brand to death.
      The second change to the marker is the barrel set. I use the Stella barrel system also by Inception Designs. What is unique about the Stella system is that unlike the Freak sets out there and other sized barrels the Stella uses both a custom front and back. Traditional barrel sizing is back only. I have a two part interview with Simon Stevens the CEO of Inceptions Designs on my channel. Just search it. You'll learn a lot as he breaks down his philosophy in simple words. What is best is you can buy these piecemeal. You buy them as your budget allows and you can start with just one front and one back. I suggest finding out what your local field usually stocks in terms of size of paint and go from there.
      I have a gun grip set on my marker made by 187pb . c o m. Love that to death. It's better than hockey grips.
      My loader is currently the Dye R2. A bit of overkill for many in the woods. You could go with the original Dye Rotor and you'd be fine. You can find them cheap on Facebook Paintball Buy/Sell/Trade for under $100 quite often.
      My tank is a really amazing tank. I think it is the smallest ANYWHERE. It's a Ninja Superlite. 4500/50. It also has a compact reg head called a Pro V2.
      Again everything I own centers around size but efficiency, reliability and accuracy are right up there. My Axe can handle the woods and tournament play. In fact when my Bob Long was giving me trouble at the Woodsball Worldcup (2014 5 man division winners) I bounced over to my Axe to finish the day. I was the only player to play in each game of the tournament for our team. This gun is reliable. For the first 7 years I only ever had to change the spring in the bolt.
      Okay, you got it all. Peace! PS: If you buy anything from Inception, let them know DangerMan sent you! They need to know their relationship with me has benefits. :-)

    I'm going Paintballing for the first time in a small CQB Arena (indoor as well), any tips?

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  11 лет назад +7

      Indoor is going to be close range. In that environment you need to realize every shot is on a rope, even from the back. Don't stay posted unless you own the lane. It's more about snap shooting in tight space. But DO not be intimidated, that will work against you. Try to play the right side of the field if you are right handed so you won't have to shoot cross hand. Stay with your dominant hand early. Watch a couple of my other videos from my playlist and bone up. I assure you, you'll be glad you did. Search playing the fifty, or playing as a walk on. But I have a few playlists. Check them. And if you think I helped you, hit my FB wall, DangerMans Lair. You can communicate with me there.

    but if you leave your marker out to the side like that when you shoot at an angle, they can hit your hopper. I've seen it happen to people. So I wouldn't at an angle but it is a good tip not to be against to the tree because the paintballs can splatter all over the place if it hits the tree

    probably the same way i'd hold my pro-lite: palm the bottom of the grip instead of the foregrip. remember when he said some people like to use a finger to prop up the barrel? do that, but put the finger under the trigger guard. you get your elbow (of the non-trigger arm) into your side for support, just like what was shown in the video this way.

  • @DangerManXX
    @DangerManXX  11 лет назад +1

    Standard? :-) What is standard? The game is constantly evolving. For what you call un-natural is natural to me. And for anyone, all you need is STABILITY. Where it rests, as long as it is not exposed, is fair game. I totally respect that for speedball there are 'standards' that exist, but remember, this is woodsball. In this world, all the techniques of speedball don't always translate straight over. I'm not being defensive. I'm having a conversation.

    My focus on on rec ball. Milsim is not my cup of tea. Doesn't mean I don't like it. I just think the manner in which I offer tips, goes against a lot of milsim tactical behavior. You may want to watch my videos on barrels. The 18" barrel is not making a difference in your game. :-( It also uses more of your stored HPA.

    Having your body sideways instead of squared up behind a bunker make you more vulnerable to getting hit on the pack wich will guarantee a break. Like the attempt of putting information out their to help other but if anyone wants real tips should watch dynasty clinics or joy division tips might be a bit old but it still works

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  10 лет назад

      Ej, this is my second reply a second post of yours. I'm seeing a trend. (grin)
      I disagree with your point. I've played 15 years and NEVER once espoused what you assert. Square up behind a tree and that is a mistake in form.
      Now, having said that - I will say that woodsball does not often require tight play and you can square up many times. You can stand in the open you can dance and give opponents the finger. Many times in woodsball the range is so much more than hyperball or airball that you can forget form altogether due to bounces.
      But if you and I were in a one v one snap shot battle on trees, I would have the advantage if you squared up on me. I don't generally tell players they are wrong here. I don't mind dissenting opinions. What you claim goes beyond opinion and ventures into facts. Please do some research on what you are claiming here and hopefully you'll come to the conclusion that you want a narrow sideways profile on any tree, let alone for a proper gun-hold. If you never agree with me, that's fine. But I must share with my other subscribers why I disagree with you.

      Check PB Nation and see what others are asking for now. Remember there are older Axe's without the features of the newer ones. Older ones such as mine are still the same for the most part, but the newer ones have some added features that really have jacked the retail price.

    the only circumstance when you should be blind firing is if your in a pinch in a close combat situation and you know your position is compromised and you want to lay down suppressing fire to either allow yourself time to move or give your team time to move to your position to aid

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  9 лет назад

      ***** I'm not here to lord over you. I'm here to help. And as a 15 year player that has also reff'd blind fire is illegal. Flat out. If you are playing outlaw ball or a field allows it, that should be changed. I get that some seasoned players won't point a gun recklessly, but it is still simply not fair and for that reason no field I've every played at allows it. Food for thought.

    You need to tuck your hopper. And only half your mask should be exposed when snap shooting. Tuck that elbow in. When you snap out your whole body should bend over. The line created by a point on your hopper, mask, and elbow should be perpendicular to the bunker you are popping out of.

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  10 лет назад +1

      Don't bother worrying if a paintball hurts. That's a common concern which fades immediately upon having played one game and getting shot. Most all rec games are played at a great enough range that you're fortunate if they even break. If it hurts, it's an unusual circumstance such as someone new or rude attempting to prove something they don't need to prove. It only proves they don't get the sport as inconsiderate in 'most' situations. As for gear, buy a double pane lens. I personally go with Dye i4's but Vforce, HK and others get the job done. Make your mask your first buy as no matter what next, you'll have it. It won't effect your next purchase is the point. If you buy a woodsball gun then go to a hybrid for speedball for instance then you'll most likely have started with a Co2 based marker and then have to re-invest in tanks with a compressed air tank. Start with a mask. Make it double pane. I have videos on this. Check my playlists. :-) Peace

    • @brianchu1710
      @brianchu1710 10 лет назад +2

      Before you actually buy anything and invest money in gear, I suggest you try the sport. I will not lie to you and tell you paintball is cheap. It's probably the most expensive sport out there excluding the cost of equipment. That aside, if you're really into the game, you'll notice being shot but not the pain. Like DangerMan said, it fades immediately. You'll focus more on the fact that you got out than you got hit.
      You can buy most equipment second-hand and a decent price on paintball forums (PBNation and the like). As for the mask, buy new not used. If you're tight for money, go for E-Flex; great mask at a decent price. Other than that, he hit all the major points. You don't need the newest, most fancy gear out there. A Tippmann will get you out just as surely as a Lux will. Do your research and see what works best for you.

      If you can, buy from a paintball field. But if you have to buy online, there is ANSGear or HustlePaintball and others. I highly suggest you go with Ninja for the tank, but especially the regulator. They are extremely high on customer care after the sale. I think you'll find it with Ninja as a 48/4500.

      He is using a Proton during a time in which he/I was sponsored by Valken. It's not a bad marker for the price but the downside of it was it was very loud. Super slim if you like a minimalistic feel. But for the price, I can still soundly recommend the Empire Axe which I use 95 percent of the time. I only break out my Bob Long Insight when I am shooting in a high end game situation that requires BOTH fast shooting and brittle paint as the Bob Long is a bit softer on paint than the Axe.
