It's about Connection....The Brutalist May be a Great Movie with Great Technical Achievements...But Probably the Story and Message of Nightbitch Connected with them more.
So glad you are both unafraid to have your own opinions and to be independent from Film Twitter. Your Saturday Night Review was insightful and made me want to see that film.❤
I really enjoy how different your recent opinions are from some of the reviews i read. Like The Guardian gave Saturday Night 1 star, but your review offers a lot of points why it's a good movie. Same here with Nightbitch. I'm yet to see any of these movies, so I can't be sure whether I'll agree with your or with the other critics, but well done regardless! Also it's so refreshing to see a celebrity not on ozempic. Good for Amy Adams!
Yeah, I'd feel ripped off if I went to see a movie called 'Nightbitch' and it wasn't a crazy genre piece. I'll try to watch it on its own merits, but that's some awful marketing.
You are the first men without kids who like that film. ❤ If that will be her 7th nomination I need her to win just for the fact of her saying "7 is magical" in her best Giselle voice. 😂
I thought the trailer was absolutely dreadful so your very strong 9/10 reviews each for this is very nice to know. I would have given it a chance either way, since I generally watch all the top contenders for awards, especially if they get Oscar nominations, but I would have just went into it kicking and screaming... Like watching Blonde when Ana De Armas got nominated for Best Actress... I survived that so I can survive this and with any hope become a fan like you two.
@luisdt246 Weirder than EEAAO which I did not even understand but it won 7 Oscars? Weirder than Poor Things? I am not sure too weird for the Academy is a thing anymore. The trailer did not make Nightbitch look all that weird personally. I do hope at least Adams wins, but I have to see the movie still.
Love the review, guys. And that you have confidence in Amy getting a nom! Quick perspective: Because this would be her SEVENTH nomination, not that it guarantees anything because after all, hey, look at Glenn Close, Peter O'Toole, Richard Burton, Deborah Kerr (6th), Al Pacino or Geraldine Page (on their 6ths before they each won on their 8ths); et al., but let's say there's some surprise push. I wonder if it could happen. That being said, I still feel like Saoirse Ronan has the best odds with The Outrun-or Blitz, if that's a lead campaign. Just some Kibbles'n'Bitz for thought.
This is the best movie of 2024 so far that I have seen. Funny, emotional, not overly gross, great message. Adams deserves not only a nomination for this role, but a win.
I have to say- having read the book, I’m definitely sad to hear the horror elements aren’t as strong. There’s a great balance between comedy and horror in the source material with a ton of juicy descriptive moments linking her dog transformation to the emotions she feels as a mother. I know adaptations are known for making changes, sometimes for the better, so I’m hopeful it does the book justice!
Is it really every Mother’s experience or certain upper class parents. Usually when an upper class white has an experience it is suddenly every women’s. Also I think a film be specific and not just made for one group.
This movie is a slight rip off of an indie that came out about 4 plus years ago it’s called “BITCH” I know this film ripped off that film , this film is more mainstream and palatable than “BITCH” Bitch is 10 x better , more serious, and a true indie .
@@mkaklamanis exactly, nobody has mentioned Bitch anywhere and it was really talked about here online when it was at the festivals ( that’s how I found out about it)…. Crazy how it’s just completely forgotten about …. I thought with NightBitch coming out it would have a resurrection but nope.
Did Amy Adams actually gain weight for the role or is this makeup ? She seems transformed here and that's a huge risk and commitment for the role. Its completely unglamorous and really fits the tone of the movie.
This sounds disappointing. I was expecting a horror over the top movie. Such a let down I would love to see a director like yorgos lanthimos directing a movie about a mother who turns into a dog. He would knock it out of the park. He will shock us
So I learned about this movie from Vince Vaughn going on Jimmy Dore and I'm assuming we disagree on few things but it just says alot that one of Hollywood's best films of 2024 is called "Nightbitch" I feel like we can make a better movie title then "NightBitch"
Never thought this would have a score better than the Brutalist.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Brutalist grows on a rewatch and ends up ranking higher

YESSS FINALLLLY, I 100% agree. I watched 9 films this TIFF and this was my favorite film. Marielle Heller always gets me good.
I see that she can run around on all fours like a hound, but can she also smell crime?

I hope Adams wins if nominated. Sight unseen, the other actresses in contention don't do much for me. Hope I am proven wrong.
And Amy does? She has been putting out garbage in last 8 years
@@nalday2534 Yes, she does. She has been in some good stuff and seems very genuinely nice. Also, all actors put out garbage at times.

@luisdt246 well, Emma Stone won Oscar for playing a weird character.
I hope Amy Adams gets an Oscar nomination for this movie.
Amy Adams is so overdue
But her choices have been soooooooo mid lately
Not when Glenn Close and Annette Bening are still empty-handed.
Did not see this one coming

So happy for this review. Love Amy Adams but was afraid it was going down route of body horror. "Light and quirky" is good.
well, Emma Stone won Oscar for playing a weird character.
As a mother I’m so excited to see this!! Thanks for a great review as always ❤️❤️ love you guys xx

Read the first 20 pages of the book, really excited to watch it in December. Did you all also watch “Nickel Boys”? Thanks for the review!

I had to pause the video.
Is that Scoot f*cking McNairy?
What is going on..Gordon Clark is showing up everywhere these days.

Do you like fried chicken?
You two are in your late twenties?!
I was thinking early to mid.

She gained.
Amy has been steadily gaining weight through her 40's. She was also quite plump in Hillbilly Elegy already.
She's gained weight a few years ago.
All I know is that trailer looked like shit
Best lead actress
Mickey madison
Demi moore
Tilda swinton
Fernanda torres
Maria jean baptise or Saoirse ronan
Fernando Torres is not happening. Lol
💙💙

If is that good the one that made the trailer is the worst in their job.

The trailer looks terrible
The trailer is awful!
U gave this film a 9? Im shocked.
Im starting to question u guys taste.
Don't be a snob. You don't have better taste than any other person
Yall had a problem with Mike Leigh's vision but this goofy ass looking flop is praised. Don't you need a second viewing to truly get it?
People are allowed to have different opinions.
This is a really shitty movie
Looks horrible
Wth are they talking about? Did they like the movie or not?
They both gave it a 9/10, so they liked it
They obviously did.
