In her "bad season" where her rivals Saba, Ryba and Coco had their best season of their life, she is still World No. 1 with the most wins (68) and titles (6) this year including a Slam, a WTA1000 and the WTA Finals. Iga just didn't dominate in the way, in which she did in 2022. That's why people think that she made bad season. For me she made a great season, in terms of consistency. The way she had only one early round loss for the WHOLE season (Tokyo) is exceptional! The fans just pay attention only to the titles and winning streaks, but not to the consistency of the players, which is the key thing in sport like tennis.

Iga has hard time, injuries, recovery etc and losing games wich she win, some depression etc. But on the end of the season she finally found herself.
That rally for 5:5 in the opening match had turned things around. After that, two straight bagels against current slam champions! There was no way she was coming home empty-handed!🎉
Fun fact: On her way to the finals, besides herself, Iga beat every grand slam champion

She just beat five of the very best players in the world and only dropped 20 games in total. It's absolutely crazy how dominant that is.
That is 4 games per encounter or 2 games drop per set...unbelievable!!

This is the version of Iga we've been waiting to see for 4 months. After her run in Beijing, I felt much more optimistic about Iga's chances in Cancun. We saw the absolute dominance like it was the 2022 season. 1GA is once again on court.
Iga Swiatek is the most dominant player in the wta tour, no one is even close. She’s proven it time and time again that she’s the best. World number one for the second time and still counting.

Even though it is a little tougher season in accordance with 2022, she has lucidly enhanced her adaptability, compliance and motion on the pitch. Currently, Iga Swiatek definitely demonstrates the most robust female tennis competitor of the world during the open era. I am certain that she will keep nurturing her personal aspects and maintaining her steadiness within this phase. It was really a fabulous season on the behalf of Polish tennis player.

Amazing display of superiority over other top players. Iga is the queen, and even though she slightly underperformed in other slams, she still ends up on top. Can't wait to see her hopefully winning AO!
Ah, and to American sport press: where are you now with your "new Serena" Coco Gauff and the other overhyped headlines like "The Void Serena Williams Left in Tennis..." blah blah.
For the past 2 years, it's very clear who the new Serena is. 3 GS, 2 times #1 end of year, last year's 37 win streak, this year's bagel record, WTA Finals 20 games lost record, dominance on Roland Garros, etc...
And, to be very clear, I do respect Gauff, she had a great season (although even though she won quite some tournaments, let's be honest, she did not dominate any of these in a manner Iga did) and she will still massively improve, so in 1, 2, 3 or so years she may become "the new Serena' and maybe she will reverse her 1-9 H2H, but in 2023 it's just ridiculous to put claims like this. I think it's even inappropriate towards other players (in this case, Iga) who do deserve such hype much more
She is truly an amazing player who has done so well so far.
It was breathtaking. Devastating and complete performance. She's in spring 2022 form. If season continued she would be able to get another 37 wins in a row.

@@mirolubas5303 oczywiście, że będą. Taki jest sport i ta rywalizacje jest Idze potrzebna. Stawiam, że w grze będzie Coco, Naomi (która, wraca już na AO), Aryna (oczywiście) i Karolina Muchova (jesli jej zdrowie pozwoli). Od czasu do czasu trochę nam krwi napsują inne zawodniczki. ;) Osobiście bardzo liczę na pojedynki Igi z Ons i Naomi.

That was a perfect tournament performed by 1GA. Her dominance was unquestionable. As was in Paris 2020. 1GA- mistrzyni mistrzyń. Doczekaliśmy się złotej dziewczyny w Polsce. I cieszy, że sympatyczna Jess znalazła się w finale, gdzie w mowie końcowej potrafiła pokazać klasę, jak na dziewczynę z klasą przystało. Brawo, brawo i jeszcze raz brawo. Jedynie te pory oglądania tych meczów niekoniecznie pasują polskim kibicom. Ale raz na rok można się trochę poświęcić.
Pora i tak jeszcze spoko. Najgorzej było w Tokio i Chinach. Rzeźnia będzie też w Australii, ugh. 😵
@@vojtasjedyny jeżeli gra IGA to pora nie ma znaczenia... wstawałem o 3 rano na niektóre mecze. Potem tylko więcej kawy ale na żywo jest nie do zastąpienia.

Może nie będę do końca obiektywny, jestem wielkim fanem Igi.
Fantastyczny turniej WTA Finals 2023, chyba tylko RG 2020 był bardziej spektakularny ze względu na wiek i pozycję w rankingu.
Momentami wydawać by się mogło, że to jakiś turniej WTA500, wróciła kosmiczna forma i oby utrzymała się co najmniej do AO2024.

She dominated this event like no other ... not even Serena Williams. Congrats, Iga. The only player I can think of who can beat her is Rybakina. Too bad, she was off-form this season. But it will be great to see these two champions on-form in a match.
Serena won the WTA Finals title five times. And Iga is 0-4 in the head-to-head with Ostapenko, so clearly someone can beat her besides Rybakina. What are you talking about?
