    Great cooking technique. For the record, the red juice that comes out of a cooked steak is not blood, it is a protein inside the meat called myoglobin which is mixed with water (moisture) from the muscle fibers.

    Why ruin it with canola oil?

      Because butter burns at a lower temp. If you add a high heat fat, like canola oil, you can add butter to the steak without burning it.

      @@natewhite6755 or add no fat and let it tender its own

      The best option is to use a cube of Waygu fat, let it melt into the pan, add butter until it melts and foams, then add the steak to the pan.

    Why would you add canola oil to Wagyu steak? Where are you not using Tallo???

    A close up of those steaks before and after cooking would be good.

    That cast iron is kind of small. I have my grandma's cast iron and it is roughly about 20 inches and about 5 inches deep maybe. It is about 60 years old.

    Salt my steaks at least an hour before cooking @room temperature

      yep. Salting an hour before gives you a whole new steak

    Looks good. Steaks, depending on grade cost somewhere between $60 and $100, so knowing how to cook them properly is key. I question the man's hygiene, however, for as he seasons (left hand) the raw meat, places and presses into the hot pan, he makes no mention of washing his hands in the 4 minutes while they cook on the first side. So did he or did he not?

      More people should learn down to butcher meat Into steaks . I used to work at a powerlunch type restaurant steaks would cost 40 60 100$ for a pepper crusted filet . u can use your own knife and buy a large cut of beef like a 6 bone prime rib cut it into 5 ribeyes for 100$ . buying a steak in a restaurant is for when someone else is paying .

    All is well except for the method of cooking. Needs to be done on a charcoal or wood fired grill. Pan fried can't compare.

      @natewhite6755 3 года назад +1

      Yes it can. Cast iron steaks are amazing.

      @@natewhite6755 Cast iron would be the skillet of choice in bad weather but it still has no flavor like a BBQ gives.

    Great vid and presentation. Can you please tell some of your SRF colleagues the proper pronunciation of Wagyu. If they are going to be spokesmen for the product they should be able to pronounce it. Wtf is a “wah-goo”😂

    This guy ruined this great piece of meat with all his butter and his oil? No open flame? No BBQ? No cross gill marks? Center RAW? Severed almost cold (room temp)? And who the hell wants to taste olive oil on their steak? And served with weeds on top? WTF? OMG!

    • @natewhite6755

      Butter and oil don’t ruin steak. You add oil so you can get the heat up on the cast iron. You add butter for flavor. The cast iron makes a far better crust than a grill. Not to say grilled steaks can’t be great. But it’s a matter of opinion. And his steaks were perfectly cooked, nice rare to med rare.
