Thank goodness I grew up within earshot of WLIR radio .. I got to hear a world of different music other than top 40 or classic rock. Buzzcocks , Jam , Specials, Souxie, on and on..thanks to a great station.
Who cares how anyone discovered this song? As long as they caught wind of the buzzcocks somehow, why does it matter? It matters only that people found out and are here to get into some punk legends. Whether it be from Shrek or THAW, or an old vinyl collection, the point is that their work is being preserved.
Panic the Kid I found out about this song because I was getting into punk rock in 2016 and my friend burned me 4 CDs with a bunch of punk music on it. It's the second song on the CD she labeled "Punk Died And The Corpse Sounded Good"
was a teenager when this came out. Don't know many people that didn't buy it. Now years later it actually means something to me between someone who was in my teenage years and then not long ago.
i begrudgingly accept not everyone likes the buzzcocks but how 3 people can have the nerve to dislike a timeless classic is beyond me. 2012 and this is still one of the most related songs ever writ if you have not related to it by yet pray or hope you're luck lasts forever
It's such a beautiful piece of shit....this unrequited love.Even if it is killing you,you would still let it.Because you have given it your all and there is no escaping it.
The original lyric was "you piss on my natural emotions" but was changed before they recorded it. "Stir" doesn't make sense in the context of the song.
+EmilyCsings i knew this song LONG before the movie came out but i forgot about it and i watched the movie yesterday and the movie brought me here aswell lol
@@paulgreenway8766 I posted this comment ten years ago and I've now been happily married for four years. I guess it's not my personal theme tune any more, and I hope one day it's not yours either
@Snoep76239 But chances are if someone saw them on top of the pops in '78 they'd have been life long fans and not been brought here by a "popular" tv show.
@mumsaysimspecial that logic is crazy. if you like it you like it, and then you have good taste IMO, and yours. why does it matter where you heard it first
Says the Japanese Bitch! I bet you don't even know much about Hiroshima and Nagasaki (and don't look up the facts and then put it in the comments) from the top of your head you have no idea
Daire Twisp if he/she makes you feel like dirt and you risk losing them if you start a commotions, they don’t deserve your love. Easier said than done I know.
Oh I did and there was nothing I could do about it. She is still in my head and I never want her to leave.

Memories of being 15 at our high school “disco”. Boys and girls pogoing😁 We weren’t sure why but we just went with it.

Panic the Kid lol I heard it while playing uno at a kick back, made me get on my feels
Dude, the internet is proud of you, these words are gold. You're a good person, have a good day and life.
I have to sing it for school of rock
As long as you git here it really doesn't matter where you came from.

This brings back memories. I saw the Buzzcocks at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in 89. Damn good show straight out the gate.
makes me nostalgic for an era I wasn't even alive in...
Yeah that's weird feeling
You weren't alive during Shrek?
BTW I'm joking
Yeah.
Yeah punk can do that. 💚
Love your pic

I'm lucky im British and my teenage years was when decent music and bands were around
There still is but you have to look for it.

Rest in Peace Pete Shelley
2 years later but pete shelley is my great uncle i can explain if you reply
It's a fucking awesome song that's why I'm here
The fact they nailed the pace way back then, when so many good songs even today just seem annoying too slow and off tempo, is legendary
This song in some way really reminds me of the kinks.
Pure brilliant. Take a bow.
I first heard it while watching Shrek, haha. But my good taste in music brought me back a coupleof years later.
one of my favorite punk songs of all time.
That means yr dads a fucking legend with good taste in his punk rock
Dad's songs always the Best songs
i am great tune so many memories of listening to it in indie bars top top top punk band
yes and i still fallen in love
Awesome song.
It's such a beautiful piece of shit....this unrequited love.Even if it is killing you,you would still let it.Because you have given it your all and there is no escaping it.
I know exactly what you mean, I am experiencing it for a girl at my workplace
It's "You spurn my natural emotions" not "stir"
rau1seixas both actually
Rian Holmes why both?
The original lyric was "you piss on my natural emotions" but was changed before they recorded it. "Stir" doesn't make sense in the context of the song.
I always thought it was “spurn” too, so now I’m looking at the comments in confusion 🤨
fuck, nobody came here cause buzzcocks its one of the greatest punk rock band in history?? like newman said.. oh the humanity...
buzzcocks-ace just ace....this goes perfect with "just lust" lyrically xxxxxxx
Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging brought me here!!

No, I'm here coz its a classic from when I was a teenager
@Snoep76239 and my point was that people should come here to appreciate good music and not talk about a tv show it was on.
yep
whos here just because this is a damn good song 🙋🏽♀️
My answer to their question: Yes
... I bet that's what 'brought most of us here'
@mumsaysimspecial that logic is crazy. if you like it you like it, and then you have good taste IMO, and yours. why does it matter where you heard it first
Ever fallen in love with a Hamster? ...No? Just me... ? Ok......
No, but Richard Gere denies.....

@mumsaysimspecial So you can't have good taste in music and still find it from a tv show?
