Also when Rose hit the handcuffs with the axe she missed and hit Jack's hand. The axe was made out of rubber and you can see it on a few frames

It would be great if you added the "biggest" and most telling mistake in the movie! And only a coin collector like myself would know this. During the part where Jack throws a dime to the girl to draw his portrait, they show the dime flying through the air in slow motion. The dime they show is a Mercury dime, which was first minted in 1916, but the Titanic sunk in 1912! I believe you can even see the (future) date on the dime! They should have used a Barber dime! You're welcome!

1) When jack is telling rose about ice fishing he speaks of a lake that didn't even exist yet
2) Jacks friend fabrizio is holding a bag that would only be produced 27 YEARS after his death.
It's an 11 oscar movie and the winner of the international prize, no matter of what mistakes have u collected , or any remarks, the movie is legendary , it's the top of the toppest.

Mistake 1: It wasn't a makeup slip-up. The beauty mark is on the other side of her face because in that scene they had to invert left and right so the wind would be blowing to the actual direction of the departure day of RMS-Titanic.

one of my favorites you completely missed, was when Jack and his friends tore up the bench and crashed it into the gate, if u look, the head musician [3rd class party scene] (playing the pipes) is there one moment helping them ram the gate , the next he's gone, then back, then gone again LMAO

You didn't notice the mistake where Rose had just been in the water after finding jack, and when she goes upstairs her clothes are still wet, but when she runs around in the corridor to find help a couple of seconds later, she is completely dry?
The only truly significant mistake/inaccuracy in the whole movie was when Jack was telling Rose the story about icefishing when he was a kid. He said he was on Lake Wissota with his dad. Lake Wissota didn’t exist until 1917, five years later, when it was created artificially by the construction of a dam.
He also mentioned Nickelodeon on the staircase which wasn’t even made till the 1970s lol

I always wondered why Rose didn't just break those tiny chain links on the handcuffs with the flat side of the axe. Hit it just kinda hard, they'd split and no danger of chopping a limb off
I knew there was a way! 23 years later, I can finally tell my 9 year old self watching this film back in '99, "If you ever have an axe and you are trying to free a framed non-fugitive, time traveller you started dating 2 days ago, you don't have to worry about chopping off a limb."

I have an alternate ending. Jack doesn't die and he and Rose make it to New York. Jack goes back to being Jack, hanging out in bars, drinking, smoking, drawing images of prostitutes and he doesn't have a cent to his name. Rose, accustomed to a finer life dumps him and makes her own way in life while living off the mondo diamond she got for being arm candy to a rich man.

The entire set was built with the ship facing right in the harbor, yet it faces left when leaving..

Joe Merriman Yep, the set was built starboard side. So when they filmed the port side they did a mirrored version. All the latter were reversed and even the buttons and buttons holes were reversed. But they couldn’t reverse her real beauty mark. lol

Interesting fact: The beauty mark on her face is real, but the set of the titanic was made for the starboard side of the ship, and the real ship was docked on the port side. To make this happen they had to mirror the scene (all the text was backwards) but that is why the pimple is on the other side...

Rose was running through a flooding hallway in the third class accommodations. She was wearing flats that were off white. But when she climbed a aboard the floating door at the end, I guess she had made time to put her dress shoes back on somewhere along the way and dump the off white flats.
Now that's a true mistake!

The "mistakes" found versus the sheer epic proportions of this movie is like a trickle in the ocean.

I never caught most of those. Since you pointed out a historical mistake, I'll point one out too. The "Unsinkable" Molly Brown was written too timid; I believe this is a writing mistake as opposed to a mistake on the actress' part. In real life, she didn't back down on that lifeboat; she took control of it. It was the man that backed down!
Amen! She was ready to throw Quartermaster Hitchens overboard-- and she could have done it!
Her nickname was also Maggie, she only became Molly after her death.

I didn't notice any of these mistakes as I was so enthralled with this movie.
It takes an eye to detail, patience, time and concentration to figure out such mistakes but the memories and feelings around the world people have with this movie can't be faded even if someone claim to have figured out 1000 mistakes from titanic movie

I am from INDIA 🇮🇳🇮🇳and TITANIC is my favourite....till today 22/05/2020.
And I saw It 22nd times from when I was saw first time at 7th standard(2013).
Recently I saw TITANIC Last week it nevered bored me... I love very much..
And I tell my all friends to see it..

Still the best movie ever 😍 despite the mistakes. It will stay as one of the best generation by generation.
wow my left ear is sure enjoying the bell sound every time you point out a piece of mistake!
Even if there were 1300 mistakes, I wouldn't have noticed any of them because of so engrossing and so brilliant this movie is. Titanic and JC and the crew deserve a free pass for 13 measly overlooks. :D
