      People talk so much rubbish about "quiet luxury" this video included. The truth is most people don't really care about fashion, they just don't want to stand out too much and don't want to look stupid - and rich people are just the same. So they basically wear exactly the same kind fairly dull, safe, normal, mainstream, clothes that 'normal' people who shop at stores such as Marks & Spencers wear. Except they buy very expensive versions because A) they are used to buying expensive stuff and B) They believe that what they are getting will be of higher quality, and to a certain extent they are correct: A 300 dollar plain navy jumper will almost certainly be better made than a 30 dollar plain navy jumper but it is unlikely that a 3000 dollar plain jumper will any better in any tangible way than that 300 dollar plain navy jumper due to the law of diminishing returns.

    From the get-go, brands that are marketed way more than the average consumer could afford, heavily relies on marketing and branding. Because generally from a critical standpoint, clothes have the same function with some subtleties in the materials (e.g technology) compare it to something like an expensive watch of car, where the price often justifies from the sheer amount of engineering and materials used for a more pleasurable experience.

    • @KwikBits
      @KwikBits  Месяц назад +3

      Agreed. A solid marketing strategy is all you need sometimes. Most of these luxurious brands start/ed through connections, think Chanel who was a mistress of many wealthy connected people, making her rise into a luxury brand quite straightforward. Same still happens today, one way or another.

  • @merrynasiregar

    Quiet luxury is a lifestyle. It is not marketing strategy until recently in social media era where many people on the platform are longing to look rich. Quiet luxury has been style in Europe since many years ago esp france. It is not just about some people who think they are elite n exclusive, but also the locals in europe who want to separate themselves from rich foreign tourists who wear all the label n monogram. These locals wear different things, more low key, created by local designers or less popular expensive brands with heritage. It can be those super expensive stuff or mid range prices

So instead of buying a Dior Tote Bag for 5 THOUSAND DOLLARS (wich they spend just US$57 to make) just for the logo, you spend the 5k in a purse that has real quallity. Of course is a marketing trick, but it's a movement that is leading us to value more the quallity of everything in our lives.

    For the past few years I’ve started making somewhat decent money and redid my wardrobe. Issue was because the average price of each piece was between £50-£100, pretty much every piece of clothing I had ended up discolouring or becoming a little loose in 12-18 months if not less. Now I’m having to do redo my whole wardrobe again and investing into expensive pieces just so it lasts me a while. Problem is, to have a decent long lasting wardrobe without ridiculous logos plastered everywhere, you need to have a big pocket… something that’s just not easy for the majority sadly.

    • @KwikBits
      @KwikBits  29 дней назад +5

      That’s the thing, fast fashion provides “affordable” items with somewhat low quality, leaving the high-end brands with a big leverage so they can price their items at ridiculous numbers.. and like you said, it doesn’t work for the majority, hence why the quality keeps going low so these brands keep pushing as much items as possible and the prices keep going up for the higher-end stuff.

For people who can't afford Loro Piana or flying to Tokyo for city-exclusive Le Labo, they'll spend the money on less sustainable knockoffs, chasing a look and a lifestyle they don't truly understand. Where I'm from , the poor to middle class often times only prefer buying flashy gold jewellery with little to no stone work while the higher tax brackets do not show such particularity and explore different stones , metals etc . Gold is .... let's say... easily recognisable and While doing such big investments , the commoners want to flash em in their social circle . Stones are pricier and easily faked and unlike gold , do not have a very safe resale price .....thus fall into the hands of only the wealthy who are never doubted about wearing dupes . I fell of the trail , didn't I-?

    It’s pretty simple. The ultra rich just want the best of best and timeless design. LP, BC, and TR do it quite well. Overpriced? Probably, but who cares. They surely don’t.

    I would disagree that quite luxury helps people connect with other rich people secretly. There are many cheap brands that look identical to quite luxury brands

    People jumping on the "quiet luxury" plane like sheep and ditching their hard spent money invested in designer pieces such as lv, dior, gucci etc just to be on trend. These companies know what they are doing because they know that from 8 billion people only 1% can sustain this madness because it's not realistic. They are taking your money and laughing, while people worldwide struggle to remain an image they will never achieve because it's not normal behaviour. I am an mindful minimalist i enjoy my lv bags and logos but i don't wear them all at once in the same time. L love good quality materials but i will never justify the 10 000 dollar jacket, or 5000 hat because it's not realistic. Bye

    Cucinelli pronounced wrong. Hermes pronounced wrong. Le Labo pronounced wrong. If you're going to do a video covering luxury brands, shouldn't you at the very least research how the brands are pronounced to add credibility to what you're saying?

    Anything made at scale is not Luxury. You’ve been brainwashed by marketing. Most of the money goes into marketing rather than the product. Tailor and custom made high quality product for an individual is Luxury.
