This brings back a lot of memories! I remember seeing this in the late night hours every night on Channel 4 when I was a little kid in the late 1970s/early 1980s. Thanks!
This was part of a trio of late night movie shows on KMOX TV.There was the Bijou Picture Show(shown),The Best of 4,and Late Show.KMOX's successor,KMOV,carried the Bijou Picture Show into the early 1990s.I know because I live in St. Louis, and I recorded some of the openings then.
I believe it was creepy because right after the movie, the National Athem would be played and they would sign off for the evening. Which was really freaky with dead air. Something we haven’t experienced since cable tv. I never wanted to be the last person asleep in the house.

The Bijou Theme comes in during the second part of the song so listen to the entire piece and then close your eyes, pretend it’s late at night in the’70s, and you’re staying awake as late as you can to watch the triple feature of all genres of movies: horror, suspense, detective/noir mysteries, science fiction, dramas, westerns, musicals, comedies, adventures, and even a few war movies.

I remember this - if I happen to be up in the middle of the night.
This jingle was creepy as hell at 3 am. I still can't tell why it was so scary. Like a false cheeriness.
S Douglas I thought it was me. It creeped me out too.
It creeped me out as a kid, too.

Love it! What song is it?
A snippet of Johnny Green and His Orchestra in Coquette/I'm Yours. It was played in the 1969 movie They Shoot Horses, Don't They?
What is this piece of music?
