- This is a Best of 2023 Compilation video. I made a best of 2022 compilation last year and the video did so well I figured I'd make a second one. Thanks for all of the support in 2023!
Over the past year Andrew and I have had some incredible moments, and todays video is meant to capture a few of those moments and put them into one video. From New York to West Virginia, and all of the way out to California, this video has a little bit of everything. I just wanted to take a moment to thank you guys for all of the support in 2023. It took me a little over 3 years to hit 10 million views and then in just one year we have 6 million and counting. You're the best!

Judging from the thin line and the way that you lob it, are you using a euro-nymphing technique on those winter trout?
Really great fishing, your casting skills are fantastic, especially on that really tiny stream. I love those scenes of the countryside, America isn't all big city blocks or interstate highway. By the way in the UK a creek is a small saltwater inlet, where you were fishing are streams. Keep them coming.

I’m not sure, I think I’d rather catch them streamer fishing 😂 but euro nymphing is definitely more effective in certain scenarios

Well half the content in this video was from WV 😂 but I guess it depends on what part of the state you live in
@@hardmanfishing do you know of any resources where I can find them with? I know a lot of the big names but want to find some smaller less pressed waters. I am in the northern part of the state in Davis
Can you do a video on some of your rod setups for running different rigs and what you use in small vs big streams or rivers? Fly line, Leader and tippet setups for for streamers, nymphs and dry flies? Much appreciated.

Ever considered a road bed in the deep part do like a road rock on both sides caught lots of fish on deep old roadbeds

Great compilation video. I like that added footage using a spinning rod as well. I started fly fishing about four to five years ago and, in the beginning, didn’t get a chance to fly fish that much. It’s grown into an addiction, and I try to go as much as possible. Keep up the great footage. Cheers from Tennessee!

Hey man, do you think a 6WT is too light for trout of this size? Where I am in NYS they get that big, but most are only like 10in or so. Just got my first Orvis Clearwater kit and want to know I can actually use it around here.

Do you have a universal setup for a beginner? Meaning something good for multiple species and that wont fail if I catch a bigger fish arount 4 or 5 pounds? I'm located in Maine and looking to start fly fishing. I've trolled and used spinning reels for trout and salmon but I really want to get out here and take further advantage of our fly fishing-only waters this upcoming season.
Any advice would help from viewers as well :) Tight lines.
You might want to consider a 5 or 6 weight setup. Not too huge for the smaller fish but will have some extra backbone for the bigger ones.
Running into the river is why you fall and fill your waders and pull muscles and break rods and destroy the river bottom…

How about actually landing the fish in under 15 minutes so you don't kill them with lactic acid build up.
