Do you use Overbridge?
I use it on my AH MK2 but the only thing that really bother me is the phasing issue when you blend ths signals with the DRY/WET pot. I wonder if this has been fixed on the FX+ 🤨
@@daftdj123interesting, is this only happening when using Overbridge?
I love Overbridge! The Heat is actually my favorite Elektron box! Great video BTW! :)
non stop!
@RickyTinez was about to ask you! :)
Elektron are so close to making the "wanted by everyone" performance mixer, but can never seem to just, get there.
Great quality man! I subscribbed and also hit the bell, top noch quality video and knowledge, keep it up!
Thank you!
Thanks for the overview 🙏🏻 I completely agree on Elektron’s marketing is missing the mark when it comes to the USPs of the AH +FX, and probably some other devices, too. Muscle-memory-powered demos or simply providing some end results doesn’t seem to work for a lot of people. For instance, I THINK I’m missing the Elektron style sequencer and yes, I know it has MIDI implementation, which is barely mentioned on the product page of their website… but I also have to see and hear what it’s capable of when connecting for instance a Digitakt or other Elektron device for sequencing the effects. Just like on the Syntakt. Had to find out through a video of Group Technologies Australiasia, that I’ve watched just before yours. Still figuring out if I should buy the combination of Microcosm + Chroma Console or go with Elektron’s single unit, but because of these two videos at least I’m considering the Analog Heat +FX. And, that should be the one goal for marketing.
One of the few video that does this box justice ....
Thks
Thank you :)
Nice review and demo, this is in my wish list. I got the Syntakt and I love that. Subbed 👍
Perfect match!
Hi , great work. Would absolutely love to see it ,if you made a video about Overbridge and the AH + FX. You quite clearly know this machine very well indeed and it would be such a great education to us all to see you working this way and hopefully advising on the gain staging issues that arise
Thank you for your opinion about this really cool Elektron gear! ✨💫👌🏼
Best greetings from Vienna 👋🏼
Thank you so much! Greetings from Germany :)
i do it with ipados fabfilter plugins volcano, saturn, q3, c2-- and midi cc control via octatrack.
A lot of people think it's too expensive for what it is and actually does. Not bad, but expensive.
With the expanded modulation and digital effects, the Analog Heat has become for me a very sophisticated multi effect.
Yes it's a great box. Just overpriced
That extra lfo and more destinations among others is very tempting 4 me.
@@sawssman965 it’s a really well balanced unit now imho.
@@atetraxxHow much do all the analog and digital effects as individual pedals cost? How many overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedals would you need to buy to cover the range this has?
Do the math, babe. I’ll wait.
I sold my mk2 then bought fx. But I miss mk2... fx has menu diving of heat section and -20db gain staging is very annoying
First time here. Elektron and 500 series? Thanks algorithm :)
Honestly, as I remember it, the initial reviews of the +FX were so focused on it's shortcoming that I kinda wrote it off. Good to be reminded that it still a solid option for some setups.
Glad I could help! There will be a lot more stuff about the 500 series as well :)
I notice at 5:01 it skipped a step from Saturation to Mid Drive, I've read that people experience this bug, wondering if that's expected and/or fixable by elektron!
I haven't recognized this bug yet. But I'll investigate this!
I already own a AH MK2 but this makes me want to upgrade 🤩
Tell Elektron, I’ve sent you 😂
if u own a OG Heat or mk2, i highly recommended purchasing the Korg Kaoss Pad FX native software. the UI is very familiar to the Heats & also the other Electron UI too. But it's very similar otherwise to the digital fx in this Heat+FX.
interesting!
The best video about the +FX, but there is a thing that I can´t understand yet. Is it possible to use the effects in just one voice or it will be always used for the master? Thank You for the video!
I recently picked one up after trying it...I own close to 100 fx pedals but was hunting something more performance-y. Pretty blown away by it. Massively misunderstood and under-rated. Tempted to add a 2nd tbh
After getting the AH, FX Pedals seem to be next logical step for me.
If you post a video showing what you mean (just what you do using it for a session that shows it's more performancey) please send me a link
@@user-oy6yb2yh7z was thinking of doing some vids once we're into our new set-up, and you're right, this thing does not have a lot of good coverage of usage types. In the interim, to clarify, I mean as opposed to my standard chain of drives, modulators and spacial effects (most of which are mono) which I will set and forget or just switch between presets...the Heat+ is defo designed for tactility. Everything is quickly and really sweepable, switchable of tweekable...and unlike the bar majority of pedals it doesn't have limited sweetspots...you can travel far between peaks without losing any musicality, and the interaction between space, eq, filtration and drive is constant and due to reorderability almost limitless. In context...i record to picture as I do sound design, and I work to super tight deadlines so line preformance works better for me than in-the-box asset stacking, and the Heat+ seems to have been created for this as its a instant but deep and intuitive tool set off textures and flavours far more applicable and controllable than any of the similar units I've tried. It's undersold by keeping the Heat moniker...that's only the smallest part of this package
I should mention that it REALLY comes alive with an added Midi controller like a Faderfox, then you're removing any page loading and just messing with everything in realtime
I imagine this thing as a hardware unit version of decapitator by soundtoys, a plug-in I am hopelessly addicted too. To me that alone could almost justify the cost but the filters and FX actually make this quite the tempting purchase. As someone who is also a live sound engineer I’m curious how this would work out in a professional live sound environment. Cheaper than stereo distressors
Really cool approach!
It'd be really cool if you did an updated video about your experiences with this box.
What exactly are you looking for? :)
@@phable Maybe some use cases, any changed opinions or revelations. Even just about the compressor section would be helpful.
Nice review man ! And that you support dub techno ;)
Dub Techno all the way! I hope it gets way more popular (but without the downsides of mainstream appeal)!
@@phable I agreed 100% ;) people seems to think it’s just ambient but back in the 90’s it laid foundations for mouch.. would be nice to see you create som nice atmospheres
@@Doomsterone1guess what’s just around the corner ;)
Good i found this Channel today 😊
you can achieve heating digital effects with MK1 and MK2 using overbirdge plugin in Ableton also with changing an order :) correct me if Im wrong
I was wondering if I can use the analog fx on the 92 Xone mixer. Do you think would this be useful
fx anywhere are always useful
do you think an analog rytm mk3 will drop soon? Idk what to buy
Very nice! I did indeed missed a lot about the 3rd iteration of this Multi FX unit. What do you think about the Reverb algos? Comparable to UA Golden Reverb pedal?
Glad I could shine some light on the feature set. Haven’t had a chance to play with the UA pedals. I think the strong point of the AH is the modulation matrix. You can create some extraordinary organic textures and effects.
”Often overlooked’? It just recently came out 😄
I was talking more about the whole Analog Heat range :)
Super Tutorial
:)
does it have side-chain to follow external input?
Yes, you can mimic that with the envelope follower and the external CV input.
Idk I tend to use bitcrush/ss redux instead of distortion these days when I want grit
Would be better if you a/b the sounds with gain matching to actually show what it’s doing
Sorry, that was really hard to do. However, the character becomes very clear :)
I'm curious about it's midi use. Are you using it like that at all?
What would you like to know?
OVERBRIDGE reVIEW would be cool
What would you be interested the most?
Cmon Elektron make a new Analog Keys that can sequence more than 2 midi channels and give it sampling capabilitys The Analog Keys is still such a dream to use and sequence with.. but needs an update!
Make it a Flagship you can do it Elektron! 😃
😍
😘
I think you're looking In the wrong producer circles if you think analog heat wasnt a success. In the bass music and jungle/dnb scene it's a common seen piece of gear in studios.
Oh really? That’s really cool! Didn’t know about this!
RUclips algorithm is good today
Seems like it 😊😅
@@phable subbed
@@Roland_Tr909_Swing thank you mate, you won’t regret it ;)
Just drop a new sidstation already
That’s impossible, because there are no chips left :/
I want to like this but sounds so flat.
Came across a vid here the other day, from another reviewer, he did notice a slight latency when he tested the digital FX on this. So it's not 100%. You see... this has always been my main issue with these magical, obscurous 'all in one case', 'does it all' kinda gear, or boxes. One of the basic lessons guys: if something says that it can do multiple things, at a suppressed price point, probably it can't do neither of those properly... just more or less. Or on a "somewhat ok" level. I rather buy a proper delay, reverb or a distortion effect separately. One dedicated unit for doing one simple task. End of story.
Have you actually tried this box?
Useless
