This video immediately had some weird energy for me personally because of hearing these two interact. after watching Jell-O apocalypse for years, and finally almost completely catching up to thrilling intent. It feels almost like two worlds colliding, even though it shouldn’t at all because I’ve seen these two play in a Pokémon TTRPG together, and the only reason, I know of thrilling intent is because of Jell-O apocalypse. And my shock only increased when I learn these two are dating and they played this game on their anniversary, which is adorable I might add.
You clearly haven't heard of good'ol Jonny'two partners (jello) there's a third person in that relationship yam. I don't know what the relationship between Jay and yam is . Jello and yam I'm pretty sure are .could be a polycule not sure though
Ended up playing myself and discovered some random things. The bible is mandatory in trapped since Dan McNeely will die entering the balcony without it. The mirror has screws you can't interact with since you lose the ability to re-enter the bathroom when you get the guard to leave and your inventory is cleared except for Bible and Key when escaping. A game over in Trapped (Where the guard catches you if you light the bathroom after leaving Dialla) is retconned by Mickey taking out the guard as shown in ESCAPE. Also, the game has a snarky message for you if you take to long to enter the bathroom.
I grew up with these Flash games made so its nice to see them getting attention I also remember another Newgrounds animator by the name of SpikeVallentine who made the amazing "Snow Snow For Lucy" short movie. Sadly, he purged all his works after going through a "Christian awakening" but some of his works can still be found RUclips
Man this takes me back. Vorago was goofy as Hell looking back but its ending horrified me as a kid. It was so abruptly dark compared to the other random games I was clicking through on Kongregate.
Kira Buckland (the voice of 2B in Nier Automata and Erika from the Fire Emblem series, among other things) being credited as the voice of Dialla is a fact I'll never recover from.
I'm just relieved that Dan McNeely and the safe finally got together in the end. They kept teasing us the entire trilogy with it and I'm glad they actually delivered. Pity we didn't get a fourth installment where Dan could say "Despite all that's happened, I feel... Safe."
I know everyone focuses on the Trapped trilogy and the pure greatness of Dan McNeely - which is totally understandable. But I have to love how Vorago - despite posing itself as a "prophetically true event" - is just a blatant ripoff of The Mist with some batshit crazy deviations.
Fun fact: Dan McNeely and the Armored Gamsees gang are references to the actual human being Dan McNeely and his website Armor Games. These games were even originally hosted on that site, but have since been removed.
I remember watching retsupurae play this years ago. I don't think it was covered in this video, but I think the 2nd or 3rd game has a shampoo bottle item that is used for exactly zero puzzles XD
My favorite part of this was the BIBLE PRANK at the end of that horrible VHS. I want to interview this developer so I can ask how he decided on the puzzles and why. He fascinates me. I want to study him in a lab environment.
I’m the developer and at the time I made these games I don’t really know how any of the logic of the puzzles fit. And it’s been well over 10 years that I’ve long since forgotten the creative mind of what once was.
Oh dang that VA of Dan must have gotten WORK when it came to flash games, specifically Armor Games. I was trying to pinpoint where I knew him from because i KNEW the voice was familiar. Took a bit but then i got it, he's Detective Grimoire's VA! And still is. Good for him, and his voicework was one of the best parts of this video. Dude does good work and GETS work, respect.
A couple years ago I would have said "you make a good game if you're so smart" but I did that with TV shows and then he made Epithet Erased. Always trust Jellos mockery.
Dan McNeely looks and sounds like a crazy indie game developer. I'm talking about the kind of dev who makes some weird esoteric game that has some kind of bizarre arg involved with it and somehow gets Insanely popular for like six months.
Every month this video happens to appear in my recommended I just can't help but watch it the whole way through again. PLEASE do more of this sort of thing, it's funny as all hell

Also Stabbyness is where you can find more content that Jay DMs Reflection is great and Art

This is like, the epitome of “so bad it’s good.” I have no words to describe how insane this is
ive seen this video end-to-end 16 or 17 times, and not once do i EVER anticipate "i have no use for this blowtorch of mine"
I grew up with these Flash games made so its nice to see them getting attention
I also remember another Newgrounds animator by the name of SpikeVallentine who made the amazing "Snow Snow For Lucy" short movie. Sadly, he purged all his works after going through a "Christian awakening" but some of his works can still be found RUclips
That's a strangely common occurance in my experience
Man this takes me back. Vorago was goofy as Hell looking back but its ending horrified me as a kid. It was so abruptly dark compared to the other random games I was clicking through on Kongregate.
Kid you was a genius to figure out those ridiculous puzzles lmao
Edwyn Tiong as Dan McNeely is an iconic part of my childhood
HOLY SHIT. THIS IS THE SAME GUY WHO PLAYS NAZO
@@RprSonic THAT'S WHY HIS VOICE SOUNDED SO FAMILIAR!!!
I recognized the voice immediately from TOME
@@RprSonic You mean like the Hedgehog?
Or to some others, Fuse from Dust or the Magister from freedom planet for example
Safe."
Oh my god, one of my favorite vaguely christian flash series is getting a lets play almost 20 years later, happy birthday to me 8D
"You know... I have a thing for women" also kills me evey time i hear it lol
I know everyone focuses on the Trapped trilogy and the pure greatness of Dan McNeely - which is totally understandable. But I have to love how Vorago - despite posing itself as a "prophetically true event" - is just a blatant ripoff of The Mist with some batshit crazy deviations.
Oh man I remember this stream! Jello spoiling us with two videos close to each other
I am deeply uncomfortable learning the dev voiced the rapist in a way I cannot put into words
Did he forget to mention he has a thing for women?
15:15 I love every time jello does the Dan McNealy voice so much
seeing Kira Buckland in the credits feels like getting flashbanged and kicked in the nuts simultaneously
Exactly
Fun fact: Dan McNeely and the Armored Gamsees gang are references to the actual human being Dan McNeely and his website Armor Games.
These games were even originally hosted on that site, but have since been removed.
There's no way Kira Buckland could refuse to be a Voice Actor in this masterpiece
I remember watching retsupurae play this years ago. I don't think it was covered in this video, but I think the 2nd or 3rd game has a shampoo bottle item that is used for exactly zero puzzles XD
I was desperately trying to find a place to point that out in the edit but there really wasn't a place for it
The main character knowing the average weight of a finger was ingenious foreshadowing for him being a criminal serial killer
the way he says "𝓉𝓇𝒶𝓅𝓅𝑒𝒹" in "we have to escape this bathroom cus we're 𝓉𝓇𝒶𝓅𝓅𝑒𝒹" is a vocal stim for me
These are so spot on to the look and vibe of point and click flash games of the time, they almost feel like parody. This was quite the nostalgia trip.
I love how the game just speaks for itself
the genuine shock and remorse in jellos voice at like 20:00 is destroying me
I would react the same! Like, the only way to progress is to burn a cat?!
Sure the result was "comical" in the end, but still
_BURNING A CAT_
“Oh my god…… WHY DID WE DO THAT?!”
A couple years ago I would have said "you make a good game if you're so smart"
but I did that with TV shows and then he made Epithet Erased. Always trust Jellos mockery.
dont forget he made pizza game too 👌
@@nadiakhanom9437 wasn’t that something he just kind of helped advertise for plasterbrain?
(Could be wrong)
@@gasjebasje99 Yeah. I think Jello's involvement with that was just editing and voice acting for the trailer pretty much. And of course promotion.
He did the art for it right?
@@charlieseen yeah I think he might have.
But that's like saying Alex Hirsch made inside job.
It's not wrong, it's just heavily inaccurate.
This moment at 16:02 literally made me almost run out of air. It was too good
Jello you scared the shit out of me, that reaction to the cat flamethrower was so genuine it freaked me out
“Oh my god… WHY DID WE DO THAT?!”
Dan McNeely looks and sounds like a crazy indie game developer. I'm talking about the kind of dev who makes some weird esoteric game that has some kind of bizarre arg involved with it and somehow gets Insanely popular for like six months.
mdickie is not my fault, he's his own disaster and he owns it
@@Omahdon bro I loved you in anonymous agony
I love seeing games like this and then the VA is Kira Buckland. She really started at the bottom
A bottom so deep Dan McNeely is Trapped (TM) in a safe there
i love how the 4th game was like jay's revenge because he got to know everything and jello got to be baffled by the game's solutions
“I guess you could call me bi-curious” KILLED ME
14:50
I am gonna think about this line for the rest of my life
"I have a thing for women" is such a normal thing to say
"Whats your type" "women"
Every month this video happens to appear in my recommended I just can't help but watch it the whole way through again. PLEASE do more of this sort of thing, it's funny as all hell
That cat part absolutely captured my reaction with the editing - WHAT . . . ??
God I'm so happy this is a video, I only caught the end of the stream when you were playing them
The TPE series is easily one of my all time flash favorites. Despite the hilarious storyline, janky visuals and odd puzzle making, the game just has an captivating and charming appeal to it.
"They seemed gayer than a normal finger." You are fucking killing me. Loved these games back in the day. And now I love this video.
this perfectly captures that flash game feel well done!
Just because nobody's pointed it out, 10:58 Dan McNeely tried doing the "smoothly takes off shades" thing despite being in the dark underground
You got it wrong, they weren’t normal sunglasses, they were heavier than normal ones
I love Jay’s laugh so much, it’s so contagious!
I just realized the bi curious line isnt in the game. He just had a great impression of the character on the spot
THIS is where the "It felt heavier than a normal finger" joke came from?
I've been hearing people make that reference for years, and I never knew what they were on about!
Vorago while crazy as hell compared to the Trapped series does have an interesting art style that fits it quite well!
19:55 there's something i love about "that's a cat, jay"
I’ve already watched this four times. I can’t get enough of Dan McNeely.
I now understand the reference. Thank you Jello, I can now laugh at the "It feels heavier than a normal finger" quip. :)
