I feel like we're going through the lgbt community with these video series Sky Pirates - Trans/Lesbian Miles is on fire/a robot - Ace Dogs in Love - Gay
Now we just need them to play another game. Like…. Not even sure if they are gonna do another LGBT+ representation thing with the next game, they are just so funny.
I need to go back and re-watch the Miles videos, I don't remember them being particularly ace. And as an aro/ace myself, good representation is hard to find.
So Vyrsa is not in the text of the game, but there is something in game that does affirm her gender In the boss fight for Daccat's treasure, there's an attack that's so powerful, it'll instantly kill any of the girls. And sometimes Vyse This was mentioned in the playthrough but didn't fit in the video
I kinda thought that polycule thing was just going to be a headcannon or something, but that seems to *actually* be what they were going for, and I absolutely LOVE that. Please do this more games.
Right? Like, were it not on a dying system in the 00's, it feels like it probably would have had Aika and Fina kiss, making it the first gay couple, as well as the first gay characters, in gaming to my knowledge. Unfortunately, we live in the darkest timeline! 😁
It's thanks to the big ships presented on the text (Vyka and Vyna) having pretty much no opposition between each other because Aika and Fina have enough subtext that they're just as big as the ships with Vyce, so the natural conclusion is that they're all a throuple.
Wish granted, but it's a representation based in reality, where 99.99% of these relationships are more than likely an attempt to save a dead relationship, the person whose idea it was is almost definitely manipulative and abusive, and everyone ends up angry and miserable, before an inevitable and hideous breakup happens. Not a glamorized portrayal of the .01% where things are functional if only barely.
You know, I didn't expect a story about a lesbian polycule of pirates fighting mysoginists thousands of feet up in the air, but Im utterly delighted that this is where the story went

I love the idea that Vyse is a transwoman who hasn't figured out she's trans yet, but the first compliment she can give to a woman is, "You're name is so feminine". Like, girl. Read the writing on the wall.
I come with knowledge! There are currently at least 4 trans Vyrsa fics on ao3 at the moment and they are all beautiful! Just look at the most recent fics in the Skies of Arcadia tag and you’ll find em’!
@@ryanbarham8464 XC2 is so good at pitching the polycule approach, because it realizes that everyone in that relationship needs to have chemistry with each other. Nia's scenes with Pyra and Mythra are just as strong as all of their scenes with Rex, it's great.
This video has ruined me. The way they treat Vyrsa with so much respect and how accurately they depict the process of learning one's transness simultaneously warms my heart and makes me so upset since this is neither the situation in my own life (even though I have friends and family who at least try to respect and understand me) and moreso in other people's lives. If my friends had those cards I'd be swimming in froyo right now.
I love how every time jello voices a character he gives it a random trait, out of nowhere changes it to something vaguely similar to it and through the course of the playthrough he makes that character deeper and deeper

This is the kind of story I live for; Vyrsa's egg slowly cracking over the course of the game, and then the three girls form a polycule... it's too adorable, man....
I remember as a kid thinking about how much I wanted Vyse to touch the black moonstone and would fantasize about him turning into a girl. I'm really glad one of my egg moments was replicated in this stream!
According to the punch card it's spelled "Vyrsa" I don't mean to be too pedantic, I just think it's extra adorable she kept the spelling theme i.e. Vice spelled Vyse so Versa spelled Vyrsa.
Excuse me, I would like to refresh the memory of whom those it may concern that we are, in fact, suspended at an altitude of several thousand feet, a drop that will almost certainly result in death.
I have the critique of the card being punched before the deadnamer knew she were trans, and therefore unbeknownst of the correct name. But, I’m just a cist male teenager, so feel free to lecture me.

Piastol: I have been searching the world for you. Looking for any trace of your passing I could find. Vyrsa: I've been passing? Yes! I didn't even need all those dresses I've been hoarding in my cabin on the off chance I'd be brave enough to wear one someday.
In simplest terms it means that you're successfully performing the gender you identify as. If someone tells you they're trans and you wouldn't have known that without them telling you, they're passing.
I will say that while the pre trans arc joke of Versa just loving women as a concept was very funny, that is EXACTLY what i was like before i figured out i was nonbinary
By claiming to be non-binary, a new binary is created of self-identifying as male/female or not male/female, putting you back in binary territory again.
I have watched this video a frankly irresponsible amount of times in the last few days, and hard same. The idea of everyone just... immediately accepting someone's new identity, no conditions or bullshit, to a person living in a state under the influence of the Maga sphere... yeah...
@@artistwithouttalent Hey same here…..yeah. Like I wouldn’t consider myself “trans” exactly but shit. Arcadia really does sound like a great place to be transported to right about now

So Vyrsa is not in the text of the game, but there is something in game that does affirm her gender
In the boss fight for Daccat's treasure, there's an attack that's so powerful, it'll instantly kill any of the girls. And sometimes Vyse
This was mentioned in the playthrough but didn't fit in the video
@@thebiolibrary5572 love those ship names in this context, because I have *no idea* how to pronounce them using Vyrsa as the first half.
