"hysterical neurosis" is an old term used to describe a mental condition where a person has strong, uncontrolled emotions or strange physical symptoms, like fainting or being unable to move, without a clear physical cause. doctors used to think it mostly affected women, but this idea is no longer accepted.
today, we know more about mental health, and instead of using "hysterical neurosis", doctors talk about conditions like *conversion disorder* (where emotional stress causes physical symptoms).
