@@gwolfe333 Knowing them and their sense of humour, I bet he was so down for this. Especially if you consider his facial expression at the end when he hits the chimes. xD
Freaking Scott. That look at the end is priceless! I really respect the vulnerability it takes to do a small acoustic venue like this. Strip the band raw and they are still an absolute pleasure to listen to. Brittney's voice comes through clear and lovely. Much respect, guys! Love from Colorado, USA.
UnfortunateFreakNo1 I had the same thought. After Football season, so Marching band becomes Symphonic band for the rest of the hear and the Drumline fights who gets who gets the Tympani, snare, crash cymbal, chimes, bass drum and triangle....lololol. He must have gotten chimes or triangle....lol
Aboriginal Chief Swain its a joke... you know cause it’s an acoustic version of a metal song and he’s the drummer. And all he does is swipe the chimes....
How you know when your drummer is legit... Doesn't do a thing the whole song and manages to steal the show at the end. Seriously, you guys should do an album of acoustic renditions.
I just love Unleash The Archers and all its musicians but, have to admit, Scott carried the whole band by himself in this presentation. He's just awesome!!!
Her vocals sound so breathy instead of connected like they should be. I feel like a lot of the warm vibe of this song comes from her really leaning into her lower register. I wonder if the breathier sound here was specifically to not overpower the guitars with her usual sound.
The only 2 vocal comparisons I have to her, are to a lesser extent, the chick from Kobra and the Lotus, and full on awesome musician, one of my favorites, Ida from Triosphere
this is a disservice of that power and feeling that is unleash the archers you all where holding back and you all are strong proud and great dont ever let something like this happen again! let your heart sing let it roar with an intensity that makes the weak shake! be who you are!!!!
I'm 5 years late to this party, but I'm absolutely blown away by the grace and restraint Brittney has in this. The vocal control to dial it back and make it sound beautiful in an entirely different way than it normally does is incredible.
OMFG that chime nailed it. NAILED IT!. I love this band and when I found out they host live D&D on Twitch I was sold. Fully sold. They are the real deal. National Canadian Treasures (and I'm not Canadian).
Showed my family this and everyone cheered at the end when Scott hit the chimes. They loved the rest of it as well but I've already exposed them to quite bit of your stuff over the years. We just end up going down a RUclips rabbithole where we each share live performances that caught our attention. You guys were my response to an acoustic Ed Sheeran vid my niece had pulled up prior.
Theyre all soooo exhausted haha totally zombied out. The host guy wasnt kidding when he said theyd been driving all night for this. Was like a last minute go drive 10 hrs for this thing a 8am.
Wow Brittney, amazing control. I was pretty bummed when Nikko left but it's great to see you guys back on the road. I'm looking forward to hearing what the future has in store for The Matriarch and The Immortal ;)
Aw Nikko left? I thought that guy looked different... Nikko was phenomenal. But if that's what was best for him, c'est la vie. I'm curious to see the new guy in action.
@@Red-Brick-Dream Yes, a while ago unfortunately. UtA is like a dream band to me so it's hard to imagine why someone would want to leave. I can't even find anything on the new bassist because his name is the same as a sitcom character 😅
These guys were the Highlight of the weekend at last Summers Guitars Under The Stars Festival in Oregon!!! Talked to people from at least 11 different states that came out for that show.
I feel scott. I had to play just a tom roll for a shakespeare play (Midsummernights dream), where in the whole 2 hours or so there were like 2 places where I had to chime in on the action... the rest was leaning back and enjoying the show the actors put on and watching the other musicians do their thing lol.
I wish my local news stations were this cool. Canada finds a way to give me "awesomeness envy", yet again. That concert had better damn well have sold out.
It's awesome how she could bring another dimension of her voice. Whoever have first contact with UtA with this can't imagine how powerful her voice is.
Maximum respect for you guys and gal, doing an acoustic Apex makes me want screech my teeth for the frustration, I can't imagine for you. Keep fighting, you'll get recognized worldwide in due time

I was waiting for it to drop (and windmills) to happen. How deliciously different. Intoducing it in acoustic was really compelling. The chimes were fun :) Thank you for posting this.
that is by far the most subdued i have EVER heard Brittney sing for longer than like ten seconds. really, really pretty though, everybody did great. especially Scott lol :)
Imagine if someone went to their show based on this performance, man they would be in for a surprise.
@@666myname666 It doesn't say it clearly if they watched it live on CTV news. Get your head checked mate:)

A lot of head checking in this comment. Do y'all have a fever or something? Well I do, and Brittany is the remedy!

Scott's brain: "Don´t screw this up, don´t screw this up, don´t screw this up...YES!, NAILED IT!"

Hahaha!

SCOTT IS THE BEST DRUMMER OF ALL TIME! (also a great sitter)
No, he is the best sitter in the whole world!
Yeah he's super relax , not much to do on live tv 😒
He was so why tf do I have to be here.

John Bonham says hi
The band may be playing Apex but Scott is only hearing "Hello darkness my old friend"
Until the end where he tries hard to not laugh
Jajajajajajajajaja its true xd
😂
XD
I'd venture the host is hearing the same.
4:39 "the moment I trained all my life for" and that 'nailed it' hand gesture after was gold.
that shit eating grin is fantastic
I mean Brittney Slayes is a fantastic singer, but I'm not sure I've ever seen a performance more beautiful than Scott's in this clip
Nice!
Scott's smile was the best part of the performance.

Scott bringing pure brutality!
Lol
I dunno........ 9 out of 10: needed more cowbell....
Lmao the drummer
I know! Couldn't he have had shakers or a box lolol? The smile when he finally got to do SOMETHING. LOLOLOL.

Scott look likes he’s thinking “wtf am I doing up here...”

The look of pure, unadulterated happiness on scotts face when he finally gets his time to shine made me so fuckin happy.

Yeah, I am not sure why she did it like that. I know its acoustic, but she still could have given it a bit more power.
