It's not that Nick is super good. It's just most people suck. I'm probably at a higher level than nick and don't consider myself very good either. Nick's bar for good is probably set as Jason Richardson. Mine is set at Jeff Loomis. That's how it has to be if you don't want to suck like every body else.
@@TrueidiotGames ohhh yea that song would sound pretty awesome on acoustic. Also did you know you can play Breath by Breaking Benjamin in standard tuning?
I've recently been playing a lot of Opeth on the acoustic. Slowing things down and playing around with different grooves and chords has been so much fun!
My favorite acoustic intro from them is definitely, "All these things I Hate" BUT Tears Don't Fall's acoustic version is so good! It gives the song a much darker, sinister tone than the original and I love it so much
that song you wrote from 5:20 on actually gave me serious chills. great work man, behind all of the memes and humility, you are a truly excellent musician.
This is by far the most relatable a RUclips guitarist has ever played. I think guitarist of all levels can relate to just picking up an acoustic and playing their favourite riffs and parts of songs. No need to try get some perfect recording or sound from an amp, no need to worry precise timing or notes, just messing and playing around. I'm gonna go do this exact thing now. Thanks for the reminder to play guitar for fun Nik!
Nik, I can tell the happiness this brings you. When you spoke of the emptiness reaction for reaction sake brought you, as in this video, the emotion was genuine. Great job, keep it up!
Nik: "I suck at guitar" Also Nik: *Casually plays every popular metal riff on an acoustic* Also sidenote: This hit way too hard. I never thought I'd be headbanging to acoustic riffs.
The second Niks channel was feeling stale he comes out saying he isn’t happy and wants to be himself. He starts being himself and we can’t get enough. Love what you’re doing. You’re a G.O.A.T. Much love from 1-519
When you started playing Animal I Have Become and So Cold, I squealed like a little girl. Also, I would LOVE a full acoustic album of just guitar. The original tune portion sounded AMAZING
Bro drop c have some really acoustic good sounding songs, as a corekid who used to play whitout an electric guitar for 2 years i can tell. This video give me the feels
Honestly enjoyed this more than your last several videos. Since my dad passed in 2020 I send more time playing his 67 Martin D35 than I do any of my electric stuff. You actually touched on a lot of my favorite riffs here. I learned a lot of these on my Kramer Striker 300ST, but enjoy them more on the D35. As I've gotten older it's just easier to vibe out with acoustic. Good video, enjoyed.
I'm glad that you are finding yourself able to post content that you enjoy making and not just for the sake of the algorithm. It comes through in the quality you produce.
Okay for the people who don't know, Nik has an original acoustic EP called Reflection and it's actually my favorite thing he's ever done, those songs are SO DAMN GOOD. Nik, please do more like that lol

I love how easy the older metal songs translate to acoustic guitar but unfortunately that was mostly lost with the more modern metal sound which is a damn shame because this sounded fantastic

Edit; bulb is a side project from Misha Mansoor (Periphery). And yeah I'm 99,99% sure it's Epic Fail.
He started with Wonderwall too at 0:28
5:20 made me think of Misery Signals, but I don't think it is.
I love Nik's whole thing where he pretends that he isn't a good guitarist when he would easily outplay most of us lol
Yea, fuckin jealous really.

well he kinda messed up with wanderwall, sooo not sure about his skill:))))

lol he could outplay me with no pick and his guitar behind his head
As a metalhead who also loves his acoustic, I love covering metal songs in my own way. The way a metal song sounds slowed on acoustic is awesome
I bought a acoustic guitar for exactly that reason, I played Sextape by deftones on a mate of mines acoustic and hit different.

The riffage on Six by All That Remains is insane

My Curse intro sounds so heavenly
1:52 from the second you downtuned the last string to C I knew you would play Animal I Have Become and any SOAD song

Periphery's Scarlet is another one that works so well on acoustic. Not just a single section, but the entire song just adapts so well
