Here is the perfect example of a person who collects fine things and listened to her home. She fiollwed some trends but in no way allowed them to dictate in this home! This excites me when I see this! (Lots of !!!'s) 😁 I could move straight in!

CD 1 What a perfectly put response! Windsor is a former antiques dealer who knows how to execute an effortless mix. She also isn’t afraid of bold dark colors which as you point out are so effective against the lighter spaces! I just detected this four year old episode and I am so impressed. A very elegant house with a pleasant and attractive home owner. The kitchen was stunning! Meanwhile you see several interior shows in which rooms with black walls are presented, sometimes rather gloomy. But in this case it is something different. The numerous mullion windows with the great view into a bright-green garden. The shiny, sparkling kitchen facilities and tools. All of that is in wonderful contrast to the black backdrop. And Susanna? Gorgeous and graceful as always. Both women, with their long hair and very slim, looked great in the environment. Thanks to Windsor, Stacey and Susanna. Greetings from Germany

Windsor does the unexpected which I love. I love black, but I would be hesitant using it on my walls. No longer. It's chic, elegant and comfy. She really knows how to mix formal antiques with country furniture which is difficult to do well. Another fab home. It's Sunday morning in Denver. I feel I have gotten my beauty shot for the day. Love this house and yard. The kitchen is to die for. 🙂 Your home is proof of what you and so many designers have said; "buy what you love and it will work". Just watching this video eased my stress. I have been a subscriber for 2 years and I have watched many times, imagining myself in that kitchen or garden.

Great design! Dark walls and floors but it looks so light, so many pieces but it doesn’t look cluttered and the strength of light vs dark and yet so comfy...oh and those sunbrellas❤️

Hi, I love your videos :) I'm so happy I found your channel. Maybe you should use a better mike when you are recording because sometimes the sound is annoying. Try the same mike that reporters use when they do documentaries (the furry one). The sound is very important . Since you have a great content you need only the good sound and your channel will become much more popular :) Good luck

Such a wonderful combination of charm and style! Just wondering if family and guests at the kitchen table feel the heat of the stove during summer parties? Of course -- this is a large kitchen so perhaps there is enough distance between the chairs/table and the stove! Also -- is the table used for food prep -- or just dining? Thanks for another gorgeous video!
Thank you!! And the table is used for everything from homework to prep. Not sure about the heat but Windsor is a pro so can't imagine it is an issue.

I would have loved to see more of the yard.
This video needs to be shown to all the people who have been brainwashed into thinking they can only have white shaker cabinets with a white subway tile backsplash in their kitchen. Windsor Smith demonstrated that an all black kitchen can be truly divine.

Dark cabinets make so much more sense than the white trend of the last 10 years - easier to keep clean because nobody notices the drips and splashes on dark cabinets.

@@SisterShirley LOL no worries!! ‘M too old to jump too! I am behind the scenes I founded Quintessence (the blog) in 2010 and started this channel shortly thereafter. A couple years later, Susanna joined me and we’ve been working together on the videos ever since (and some books)!
@@quintessenceblg You've done books too? I'll look for them. I wanted to order the garden book by Carolyn Rhoem sp? but it was too pricey for me to justify the cost. Next time I'm in the city of Detroit, I will stop in at John King Books downtown and look there. It's an incredible used bookstore. It's actually world renowned. I have to set the day aside when I go there.
