two advice: 1.remove the trigger group can confirm that the bolt may don't lock up, that means the lever help the bolt from rotating. 2. push the bolt head to show the cam and cam slot without being covered by fingers. The tooth at end of bolt engages the lever until it moves into the chamber.
Thanks for showing this off!It looks to me like the just uses an ar-10 style bolt that locks into opposing lugs in the barrel. The inertia block and lever is just to keep the bolt carrier assembly from sliding backwards and unloading the rifle if you were to drop the rifle on the buttstock. It doesn't unlock when firing because the lugs of the bolt are locked into the barrel trunion. It's just as safe as all the m16s and M110s that have went bang through the years. Very similar in concept to how an ar15 would work if you took out the gas tube.
Yes, Beretta has done some assault rifles so they are not new to this solution. There is no need to worry, neither the design nor the manufacturer is new in the game.
Great review and detail on the actual bolt mechanism. 👍🏻 Some additional bits…I understand the butt pad and spacers are Beretta shotgun ones so easily available, the trigger has three tool free adjustment settings and the pistol grip will have other styles available in the future like the Tikka T3X currently does. This is an exciting rifle!
What I will say..by far one of the most accurate rifles I've had...accuracy node in mine is in the middle between start and max however when pushing rds a little faster in a turn bolt you get stiff bolt lift...pushing them in the BRX1the bolt either opens or it doesn't...turn bolt you've a little inertia but bolt moves albeit a little slower or stiffer . In the Beretta I've found increasing pressure can lead to bolt jamming
Ayyyyyy,,,, they could have taken it out with a more tactical Chassis or more PRS…..that would have been the best….Let's pray that Beretta manufactures a replacement soon 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. Then I'll buy it!!!!
Has there been any news on using AR10 pattern magazines (or AICS even)? For something built for rapid fire or follow-up shots, it really needs a minimum 10 rd mag, with 20rds to make it to a 'proper' battle rifle. I've seen videos of them using a weird plastic shell that attaches to Magpul's 308/AR10 style magazines, but I cannot find where they can be purchased.
As a hunter in training, I’m thinking about the BRX1 or a Tikka T3X in 30-06. Which would you choose for hunting deer up to 300m, but also some swine driven hunt? If it’s, the Tikka, which model? And the most important, why that gun/model?
It would have been nice to see you explore the inertia locking system further. No doubt, the bolt is locked behind the lug abutments due to the chamber pressure & would be impossible to unlock during peak pressure events or, even close to peak pressure. I can only assume that the small inertia block simply locks the spring loaded arm in place which prevents the bolt from being unlocked from the chamber at the end of the pressure cycle. Since it's operation seems to be a simple matter of retaining the bolt shroud assembly in place during the firing cycle, I can't see a problem with the way Beretta has dealt with issue of having to include a much more complicated bolt locking system. I hope they mention in the cleaning instructions to keep grunge & git out of the inertia block recess so as to avoid a nasty surprise if the bolt unlocks at the end of the rifle recoil movement.
Anyone notice that the action moves back when he fires the rifle? As in the bolt carrier is flush when loaded and then there is a gap as soon as its fired.
@@racknload I've watched other reviews on the rifle, and this is the only 1 that I have seen doing this. Maybe query it with Barreta as it doesn't look write mate 👍

I'm surprised that the scope rail hangs so far off the barrel..doesn't seem like the scope would be anchored very well, possible movement of the point of aim. Anyone else think this ?
Nope. Never had an issue, i run 2 different scopes on mine. One 2-16x50 and a lvpo for driven hunts. Never had any issues with the rail, my rifle is directly bought after the recall, 300win. Never had an issue and I am going straight up to about 750 rounds now. A friend of mine owns the Blaser, finde rifle, no doubt but he also says for the price tag on the beretta he would have to think twice today if he had to choose. Also the barrel swap works perfectly fine. Another hunter here in my area has the brx1 in 308, we changed the barrels and boltheads several times a day and couldn’t find any shift. But we used a torque wrench set to the 10NM beretta says. Maybe when you only use the allenkey they deliver with the rifle it may have a bit shift.
Is there some kind of NDA from Beretta regarding reviews? I haven't seen a single video of anyone actually taking off the barrel and checking zero afterwards. That's the one thing that would make this a true Blaser killer.
@@racknload Yeah, that's one of my main interests with this rifle. Or being able to store it in a small package. Basically one of the main selling points of a (much more expensive) Blaser R8 that can hold a near perfect zero even after you take it apart. The reason the bolt does that is to release some of the pressure in the chamber after the shot has been fired. It's an exhaust valve mechanism.

Great review. If you could only pick one, which rifle would you pick for hunting...BRX1 or the Benelli Lupo?
I love the Lupo but I think the fact that the Beretta has had all that NATO testing and passed has, I think, swayed it for me....
Explanation tete Le , I still don’t know how it lucked itself when that fires
AR-15 8 lug cam bolt

The Beretta for its durability as it passed the NATO test and that sold it for me plus interchangeable barrels....
What do you consider most accurate? Sako s20 or Beretta Brx1 , i’m considering both. I want the most accurate as possible between both
I have problem whit clicking ”whinchester and fiocci so far” s&b norma and Home loade work. But way is it that way?
