- I bought the Adatec hybrid is38 turbo off Alibaba after seeing it advertised as 585BHP.

My Golf GTi Clubsport is forged and my main aim was to get it over 500BHP.
Here are my findings!

Just to clarify: the performance monitor provides a reading of 46psi which includes atmospheric pressure. If you minus atmospheric pressure, the total is 2.17bar! 😀

Based on your mod list, your HP is pretty much what its supposed to be. I don't think regular 97RON is going to allow you to make 500+HP, atleast in the states, a EA888.3 needs to be on 100OCT+ like E85 to make 500+HP on a turbo that size. Unless I am missing something from your mod list your horsepower figures are pretty much what they are supposed to be

Not the right man to be asking, he thinks hes gonna make 500HP on basically stock fueling and 93oct and then gets mad at the manufacturer because it isnt making what it states it will make at maxed out fueling

How you getting on with the rts clutch? Got one in my golf r, it's knackered after a year on standard power only done like 13k miles on it
Hey mate! I previously had a sachs clutch for stage 2 and I believe the weight of it caused my engine to crank walk twice in the space of 8k miles. I ended up forging my original engine and then put the lighter weight RTS clutch in and i've had absolutely no problems so far! It was a bit of a pig to bed in but now it's properly bedded in, it's been great dude! Ill let you know after 12 months of stage 3 how i get on haha
@@KillAllWipers yeah nice one, mines going back in for a replacement rts, I'm hoping I just had a bad one, it's going stage 1 after it's done, I get what you mean about bedding it in they judder like mad at first 👍

It’s been on the car since 23/07/21 and still going strong. No issues whatsoever. It is coming off for a different turbo by Fastline where I compare the turbos 😎
i have a mk7 gti with a stock is20 turbo and i want to upgrade to this is38 hybrid but this one does not include the blow off valve motor and the wastegate motor can i just put the one of the is20 or they don't fit on each other (sorry for my bad english)
Hey mate, you would need to get the is38 actuator I believe but if you send me the part number on your current turbo i can cross reference it for you?
okay will send it to you soon one more question is your turbo still in good condition? just asking because as i hear from others that Chinese turbos won't last long they'll blow and start leaking oil
hello, do you had stock pump and injecions ? it had safely margin in fuel ?
Hello, stock injectors, a autotech high pressure fuel pump but you would benefit from an RS3 Brushless fuel pump and module too. I replaced this down the line when i upgrade to a FastLine FL530 turbo (I have another video on that)

You will need a tune but it does directly fit on !
Littco L500 is bang for buck the best turbo on the market.....period
Agreed with that man! Tried to do something a little different using this turbo! I have another turbo going on next to compare against this haha.

Hey man, no it blew up apparently (i sold it and then took it back 6 months later off the person I sold it too as they said it blew up after one mile of use) 🤣
@@KillAllWipers use or abuse hahah you had it for like a year no issues so...unlucky dude. Im about to get me one of those adatec turbos, let's see how it goes
@@666ChrisAshfor 460bhp ok, but if you really want more power, don't... We also did a lot of testings, many hours on dyno, meth Injection, etc... Never achieved the 500hp.

You talking about boost is confusing . Basically without the actual barometric pressure you were only pushing 30psi. I can see them saying more boost ,5 bar map sensor most need to get to 500hp
Yeah man i’ve pinned a comment at the top to explain properly! The turbo has blown up after i sold it in July. Apparently it only did 1/2 a mile down the road and blew up so i ended up refunding the guy even though it’s months and months after i sold it. Another video coming soon with the Flastline FL530 turbo i’m running.
@@KillAllWipers I'm have a 20 GTI I'm budget building .just finding good deals but I got a rev9 turbo with massive center section for only $400 cad with 2500 kms on it lol it's been runing good on jb4 but it has so much power I cant get over 22psi or map1 and I get throttle closure so now I'm going with open-source tuning and doing it myself .cant wait to see whaT it's like around 400hp
@@onelowvdub 400 will blow your mind man haha. It’s crazy how quick they pick their feet up. I feel like 400 was the most aggressive the car was! I’m over 500 now 🤣🤣

@KillAllWipers I guess you get what you pay for, but decent gains still and for most people it's a good option especially if the stock one fails

yes dude it sure is! i daily my car and it’s not given me any issues at all!
Is the motor stock internals ?
Mine has been forged as it crank walked, 🤦🏻♂️ I’ve changed the clutch setup now as mine is a manual and it’s been great!
It costs €1,400 now
1000% not worth that price! I have another turbo review coming comparing it to the Ali Express turbo! Just working on it

Haha it’s 46PSI on the Performance monitor but that includes atmospheric pressure 😀
Rubbish turbos, I bought the hybrid for my Mk5 Gti and during tuning the seals blew at 24 psi and my plan was to take it up to 28 psi. Contacted Adatec and their support was next to none (that I've dealt with), pure rubbish. I've since upgraded to big turbo and have been happy with the GTX3076r gen 2 from powerspirit. I guess it depends on your luck with these ADAtec turbos cause apparently it's working good for you. (and I'm pretty sure you mean 2 bar, no way that tiny turbo can handle 3 bar especially an ADAtec production one)
I've had no issues with mine to be honest and it's been running 46psi (including atmospheric pressure) for over a year with zero issues at my side. I've now swapped it out for a Fastline FL530 which i have a new video being uploaded soon!

It will only be running 2 bar of boost, 3 bar will be including 1 bar of atmospheric pressure.
