  • Finally got the car tuned up enough to finally make a video about it. I wanted to wait for a couple revisions before I started to really beat up on it.
the first race at the end of the video is stock turbo fbo with e30 then the second race is the mods listed below. You can see the crazy difference this turbo made with just 93. Hopefully in the future I will get mpi/lpfp for full e85!!!
    Mods list:
    Turbo parts Canada hybrid is20
    tuned on 93 by sneakytuned
    cobb dsg tune
    ingen intake
    ecs inlet
    forged bov
    arm throttle and charge pipe
    arm fmic
    megan racing catless downpipe
    straight piped after downpipe
    toyo rr's for tires
    dog bone mount insert
    tint is 15%
thanks for all the support still trying to get used to recording videos with me talking so hang in there for the cringe, till I get more comfortable lol

I am IS38 FBO custom tuned through Frank Mabo 91oct, and I will tell you you will be able to beat me easily! Your TPC20 should be around 450whp on 93oct, which is well over IS38 territory. I think my max is like 370whp/390wtq, but I've never dyno'd it. I just know this is probably my power level with 91oct because I have beat several other cars that weigh the same, and are turbo's, that are pushing 350whp numbers.
I have been thinking about getting the TPC20, so this is a great video to see. I will tell you, tuning is everything! You need a good tune, no matter the setup, to be within its optimal power. Right now, with my current tune, I am able to achieve boost at 2700-2800psi, even in 100 degree weather...something that not many IS38 owners can say they achieve. Its usually 3200-3300 rpm's before it begins to boost. SO get yourself a good tune. You will be able to achieve boost sooner than you currently are.

Dope video and I appreciate your thoughts! But PLEASE put a resonator in your exhaust! straight pipes sound so bad on these cars. I know cause I’ve been there! Just get a flow through to help with some of the drone/rattle without sacrificing performance

what a great build without going to the usual IS38 route. could you share more about the spooling of the hybrid IS20 please? does it spool noticeably later than the stock IS20?

According to my logs 4200-4300rpm I hit peak boost with the hybrid, stock was around 3900-4000rpm.

nice! thanks for sharing. more reason for me to go down the same route then! what about your oil temperature and IAT? did you see any significant increase in those two readings?

Crazy part about that I was thinking I was going to see a huge increase, actually the opposite. Mostly because I heat wrapped the downpipe and got the turbo blanket my oil is 25 degrees cooler and my coolent is running 35 degrees cooler

      IAT's are about the same

Nice!! If that is the case, you got a win-win situation here man. Great build! i'll keep in mind about throwing the downpipe wrap as well as the turbo blanket in my upgrade list.

Yo, what is the rpm start range for this turbo? How long (till what rpm) it holds the boost?

Sorry if I missed it somewhere here - what car and motor were you racing against in the two vids at the end?
Sounded like a V8 Audi or BMW. 😋🤤

@@TurboSpeedVideos i’m on 93 too getting 29 psi with stock gti is20 i wanna get this but not if it’s gonna be the same.

Remember, 29psi on a bigger turbo means 29psi from a larger compressor. Which inturn means more power then a smaller turbo at 29psi

If your blowing 29psi through a straw then 29psi throw a paint can, your getting alot more air flow then the straw
