I think what Federer has done so far, in this late stages of his career, is quite incredible: winning slams or reaching slam finals (he came SO close to winning Wimbledon last year) at 35-36 and further is special. In my opinion, it's not given that Djokovic can sustain, in the next two or three years, the high level at which he nowadays plays...we will see.

For almost a decade and a half, the rivalry between Roger Federer vs Novak Djokovic has been taking the sport of tennis to another level. The ‘Fedkovic’ battles have left numerous tennis fans spellbound. It is believed that Roger has one of the most versatile forehands and shot making in the history of the sport also his serves are equally admirable.
Novak doesn’t possess any of those but his exceptional command over the return of serves, his elasticity and his unprecedented defense on the tennis court neutralizes Federer’s high-quality attacking style tennis. Djokovic’s clean groundstrokes from both the wings certainly give a tough time to Federer to select his shots and smash a winner etc.
Roger Federer has been the platinum standard of tennis excellence for quite some time now. His movements and techniques are simply notches higher than the rest of ATP professionals. Still, that won't stop the Maestro from adding a new weapon to his arsenal.
To stay at the top of any sport, you have to try new things, push your limits, and always look to improve.
Novak is not the greatest of all time yet,but if you are young kid and want to have a solid playing style he is one of the best example to follow in order to develop an aggressive baseline game which is the dominant force in this era of tennis.

The thing is Djokovic is 6 years younger. Federer had to fight not only with his generation but against a prodigy like Nadal who was in his absolute physical prime since 2005, and the next generation who were also prodigies like Berdych, Gasquet, Murray, Djokovic, Del Potro.
Djokovic in his prime only had an old Federer and Nadal as contenders, while the next generation was crap.

@@travisbickle5279 oh, the matches Federer played against Novak until AO 2010 and Novak's matches against Roger until AO 2016. The way you wrote made it sound like a specific match between Novak and Roger in AO 2010, since they played in the 2016 AO it was confusing

@@masters.1000 Of course 😂 Gasquet or Berdych are a "prodigy", while Novak's opposers like Kyrgios, Tsitsipas or Thiem are shitty players. That's laughable. The one who won the biggest part of his GS against rubbish players is Federer, not Djokovic.

Federer vs Djokovic age in theese Finals:
      33 vs 27, 34 vs 28 and 38 vs 32...
Try to reverse the factors and you will get results in favor of Roger. It is already unbelievable that Federer had great chances of winning in 2 Finals out of the 3 played at Wimbledon against a champion like the serbian in the middle of his career.

A teenagers novak btw, and Still.gave him lot of trouble, the same Murray, they started to expose Federer baseline consistency specially on bh, and hitting deep, theres analysis how the next gen of that era commanded by Nadal and Murray/Djokovic started to beat and hice masdive trouble to Roger game by being More consistently deep in their baseline game, Federer was used to shorter baseline Rivals, even top players like agassi, Safin, hewitt It roddick, thats why for Federer was Easy to dictate the point against them, with this other 3 he needed longer rallies cause he didnt have Mich Time or space to dictate every moment, he has to run and use variety a lot More, look how less creative His game was between 2004-2006 compared to 2007-2012, before 2007 he only needed His serve, and His fh most of the times to end quickly, this new guys started tonreturn those winners and Federer had to improved His overall game and strategy to match their consistency
