First ever @realwheeldeal x @vanloc.ca Cars & Cà Phê Sữa
HUGE thanks to the team @vanloc.ca for co-hosting the event with me.
This idea has lived in my head for a few years and after linking up with the new guys behind Van Loc & CRW Coffee I knew we had the perfect setting.
For the first one, I set it for invite only. I wanted everyone to feel like they were part of something special, because that's what they were. I wanted to buy a cup of coffee for so many people that I look up to, admire, always had my back and been there since Day 1. A recent sentiment in our car community is "it used to be better" - I didn't want those words to be a broken record. I wanted it better today. A lot of recent car events in Edmonton have had poor outcomes and bad results so I'm hoping this starts a trend of events more focused on friendships and a close group of enthusiasts.
Another issue is the state of Chinatown in YEG. A large partition of my childhood hard drive take place in Chinatown but no new memories were being written.
Plugging @changechinatown I'm hoping more of us can push for more events and return back to this area of the city.
