Oh, I envy you. I have no Kookas in my country, but a lot of other Birds, fortunately. They visiting my garden and balcony very often, to eat something. 🙋🙏
Thankyou for your patience here Kookas need respite after fires etc for food and so does the bush By feeding them you have given other wildlife a breather
I have two I hand feed but will be trying this now!!! I feed 19 wild birds currently and boy do they eat a lot of meat! 11 magpies, 5 ravens, 1 crow and 2 kookaburras 🤣😁
I get creative. Look to what you toss. My Kookas like chicken bones & prawns heads. The Maggies - left over pasta. Everyone loves left over mashed potato etc
@@bradwalker1618Heads up that meat depletes birds calcium and is actually pretty terrible for them. Instead feed them bugs like crickets and stuff like that. They’ll get sick from eating meat and eventually die.
That's not quite right Lucas. It doesn't deplete calcium, but it doesn't give calcium and that's the problem. I sprinkle their meat with Insectivor which is a calcium/vitamin supplement for birds. Also birds only take about 10% of their food intake from human made food if they have access to it. The other 90% is their natural diet.
Could you please tell me what kind of meat are you feeding him? I'd love to know. At the moment I'm feeding my wild kookaburra live mealworms and boiled egg with Wombaroo insectivore rearing mix. I would like to give her a proper diet. Thank you for sharing you amazing video.
@@bradwalker1618 Cooked for raw beef strips? And do you know how much they can have? I don't want to overfeed them either. Thank you for your quick reply.
This was raw, but I also give them left overs. As for quantity, don't worry. Apparently they only take about 10% of their daily needs. Here's a report from CSIRO on bird feeding. www.publish.csiro.au/MU/fulltext/MUv111n2_ED
i wish i lived in Australia so i could feed these guys, they're so cute and full of personality

This is really cool. Didn't realize they could be trained with a little bit of time and effort.
Wow, wow, wow!! This is so cool. Mr. Brad seems to be so patient with his 'class'. I wonder if he gives them homework?
They're such interesting birds!
shows you how smart they are , magies, kooka's, make great house guests
im supper new and i found a kookaburra friendly by chance. had him sitting on my hand! im souper stoked!
Thanks so much for the training lessons!!! I'm going to try this next time I'm around a balcony 👍🙏🏼🤗
Now I just need to find myself a Kookaburra to train
That was really good I bet you took your time Because I know you’ve got to build it up to get the bird to get confident to get to know you more
Thank you so much for teaching us!
I love those birds!!!!!
Beautifully done. Thank you.
Lear a little bit every time I watch Brad's bird video.
I just love your videos. Your are so good with those birds. Wow! 😁😁😁😁
Thanks so much
I'm crazy about birds, so this video really interests me. So nice!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you, Brad. We're going to try it with a Steller's Jay family that lives in the area.
Over here, our pet suppliers have live Mealworms (in tubs). Guessing your Blue Jays would go ape over them. Might make the process faster.
You are an amazing Trainer!😄🐦👍
You are so kind

No, but I've have been to Featherdale.

Amazing!
Thank you! Cheers!
Have a good day ❤️
Is there any way of initially attracting them? This was amazing
Do you have any Kookaburras around your place?
@@bradwalker1618 yep I do
Food on the veranda probably, lol.

What meat do you use?
Stir fry beef strips or chicken.
@@bradwalker1618 THANKS :D
What do you feed them
Any type of meat. This day was beef strips.
A bird in hand is worth two Kleenex.
How long did this take?
Only a couple of weeks
Wait till they bring their children around.
Can't wait. Most years they introduce me to their new bub on New Years day morning. Great way to start the year.
Bludgers.
Kookaburras aren't for the light-hearted...
