In 1986 I bought a 1966 Shelby GT 350 from Huntington Beach Ford for $6500 out the door and had shipped to Japan I was stationed there drove it for 3 years and sold it for 10 times the amount I paid for it do I regret it Absolutely I do because I know ill never be able to afford another one I love your car it's awesome
I had a 77 camaro I ordered from the dealer for 36 years. It had a 305 and auto tranny. Just a dog. I sold it and bought a 2006 mustang gt, 5 speed, with 24,000 miles on it. At 68 years old, I got my dream car. No regrets.
So, let's review. A really cool 57 pseudo conv. Drives the cobra home past 2 really cool mads, parks beside the ss nova with the ba sbc in it. And the 68 Camaro in the garage. You're living the good life Dan.
Has a cobra and a Nova and still complaining....like collectors do... AND I ALMOST WENT TO JAIL TRYING TO BUY A PROJECT NEW YORKER AND HAD A GUN PULLED ON ME WITH 8K IN MY POCKET TO BUY A BARN FIND DESOTO 🤦🙄
Sold a 1972 455HO Trans Am with a 4 speed M22 Muncie for $3500 Turns out 1 of 200 in Canada. Worth a fortune today. What a dumb move. Have tried to find it but no luck! Doing a 69 GTO to make me feel better
At least 1972's "$3,500" is like "$26,000" of today's money, so it's not AS bad when you remember that was a lot of money for the time. That's pretty cool. I saw a GTO fully restored! in silver at the gas station today. A baby boomer was driving it. Probably late 60's, early 70's. It was the generation back from yours though. Top quality show grade. Just beautiful. Good luck with yours!
I picked up a 70 Superbird for $250 many years ago. I sold out for $12k the day I put it on the road (on my way to get it tagged). All original from the original owner with only 30k miles in it. I'm still kicking myself 30 years later
Hey D&D Some of your veiwers, have no idea how your sense of humour works😉 My dream car has always been a 2 door 57 Belair. Man the roadster is an incredible vehicle. Take care of One Another 😊
The convertible looks really cool Dan. Shiny red tractor paint and all. Remembering what that car looked like to begin with,,,, I think you did one hell of a good job Dan. And I don't even like convertibles.
Yeah you bought the cobra along time ago and for the lil bit that you drive it and what it cost to store it money wise your thinking right selling it I won't miss that car like I would your nomads or your 55 speaking of 55s I think you should give the 2 lane 55 some real lovethis summer I miss seeing that car
Dan, Daniel my brother!! You and Ms Dani are the greatest! Love to both of you.. ❤ My favorite interweb couple, best people I know.... and... the best channel on the good old RUclips!
I traded a completely finished, painted, running, titled, licensed, gorgeous 1932 Ford 3W coupe highboy straight across for a partially finished, not running/driving but mostly there 1955 Nomad. 50 years before you got the 2 you have I fell in love with with those cars (a neighbor had with Cragar SS’s all around). I finally got one.
I'd say hang onto the convertible 57, The way you were talking sounds like it doesn't have much value, but even just a few drives a year would seem worth it and its hard to make another one with out an x frame handy.
1964 GTO... t28, 4 speed Muncie and a narrowed 9 inch... Same type thing, ai bought it with shiny paint, finished the interior in it and drove it for 5 years... Sold it and made a nice little profit, while still giving the guy a great deal. Don't regret it one bit!! Made me nervous with that nice paint on it.
Traded in a 364,000 mile Subaru wagon my dad bought me in high school, after he had spent all of my college money on himself. I sold the last few head of cattle i had and bought a blood red 1970 ElCamino. I kept it for a couple of years and sold it as i went into the NAVY during Desert Storm. Only to find out later that it was actually a numbers matching big block SS. The farmer who owned it before me had built it to NASCAR spec and took all the SS emblems off. Nothing near as noble as buying a nice big house to hopefully further my career like you are.
And they didn't show the old jewellers safe behind it with $3m tucked away in a secret compartment or the $2m worth of jewels and diamonds in the bottom tray either.
It's amazing how well they have this staged and how this Cobra is rotting away in a storage container and the battery still charged and there's no dust on the car I'm calling bullshit
Ouch ! ..those are gonna sting ..but once you have the acreage you can Sanford and Son the place, and never part with a Hot Rod again…thanks for the vid guys, Cheers !
I'm in NZ my first real car was a 55 Belair 4door gaser style right hand drive as for nz standards I so miss that car .sold it for 5k back in 1982 couldn't afford to buy it back now .

The coolest and most fun car to drive was 1978 BMW 635 I , it would blow the doors off of a mid 80s Mustang GT after shifting into 3rd gear , they didnt have a chance , BBS 16 inch wheels and g compound tires , would literally corner so well that you would actually think it was on rails , I sold it to my best friend and made him and his dad sign a contract that if broke into , I was not to blame , because it was owned by 2 of our other friends that gave it total hell every time they got in it as did I , I once got pulled over by North Richland Hills police and didnt get a ticket for over 130 mph , the reason yhe officer didnt wrote me a ticket, his words not mine , this is a beautiful car and your a nice looking kid and I would hate to scrape you and it off the pavement one day
I bought a 87 Buick T Type with 8,000 miles for $3,500 and it was garaged and babied it whole life. It was twenty years old and thought I did great flipping it for $8,500. It was a car I wanted to keep but I thought I would never get a better offer than that. Dumb Dumb Dumb.

The coolest car i ever bought and just hooned around in was a Porsche Boxster S 3.2L, 6speed, 250hp, quick car. It had 996 Carrera wheels. I hit Vmax of 265km/h on the German autobahn. Good times!
Nicest car I ever bought and sold was my '21 GT500. I thought for sure I wanted that car but only put 1000 miles on it the first year I owned it. I was scared to put miles on it and scared to modify it. Anything would lower the value and that thought hung over me like a dark cloud. I bought my '69 nova and the Shelby just sat. Dealer offered me so much over what I paid for the Shelby, It's like I got the Nova for free. Now I miss having a newer Mustang but next year I hope to pick up a nice 21+ Mach1 or older '16+ GT350.
Had a 71 Z28. Mulzane Blue with Black stripes. Bought it in 94 in Saskatchewan. Moved to Brandon Manitoba and was moving back to Sask in 95 and needed the money and sold it😪 I`ve owned a pile of vehicles and that one hurt the most. Still is in Brandon and I won`t enter the city cause I don`t want to see it 😂
I guess if you don't drive it anymore, it's time to let go-? I owned a '68 400 Firebird, I regret selling that, but it was getting rusty. I also let a really nice '69 SS 396 375 Camaro, 4 speed, go. THAT one I really regret! I also let a re-honed, still original bore size, '67 L-88 engine go. It had the grooved-cam setup that has oiling problems if you don't know what it is. You're livin' the dream, a Cobra and Camaro in the garage. I'd think you would regret selling the Cobra...
WOW what beautiful 57 chevy convertable too. Big money on that find. Is that second car a Carole Shelby Cobra my favorite car. Please show the car from outside. Look on the frame in engine campartment stamped on the frame should be CS and some numbers if it has that the frame is a real Carole Shelby Cobra. I’ve seen one parked at my bank I waited until the owner came outside we talked he open engine compartment showed me the CS plus numbers it is a $ 500,000.00 car, to me there is no body sexier built than a Carole Shelby Cobra. WOW omg where did ya find my car LOL.
My best car I've owned and sold was a numbers matching completely original 1969 RS SS Z28 factory forest green with good flake with gold strips that I bought for $700 because I was pushing my broken dirt bike down the street and a guy came out and asked what was wrong, we talked about life, he told me how he bought it for his kid and his kid was just a snotty shithead who lost his license so he told him one more ticket and I'm selling it, he asked me how much money I had saved for my first car and I said $2,000 and he said give me $700 and use the rest for new tires and I RAN MY ASS HOME AND RAN RIGHT BACK and I sold it 8 years later for $32,000 and a 1976 Chevy short bed with a 454 and a M20 Muncie and I regret it every day but I am a believer in everything happens for a reason. That money bought me the house that I'm still in so everything works out.
If these were forgotten in any way or this was the first time he saw them there is about 0% chance that battery has enuf juice to even try turn that motor over. This is staged af

It`s a Cobra Dude !!! Rave-On Danni and Dan !!!!

This is a carburator engine, depress the pedal 3 times in the bottom then the choke will engage and it will start. . .gas will be high octane . .
The A/C Cobra is definitely a dream car. 289/302 with a 5 speed is exactly how I'd want it.
