📌• Dominant traits are the traits which express themselves in the generation WHEREAS Recessive traits are those traits which are hidden and can't express themselves in the next generation . 📌• Law of segregation is also known as law of purity of gamates or the law of separation. It states that the alleles are separated to the gametes during meosis , so that the alleles will not get mixed. And always pure gamates are transferred to the offspring. 📌• Phenotypic Ratio of the offsprings - 2:2 Genotypic Ratio - 2:2
Im from Bangladesh..after watching a lot of videos on this chapter i ended up here and Im sure these will be my last videos on genetics cause i got all the answers i was searching for....thank you so much for these amazing lessons... Explanation was really fascinating... Thanks once again🙏❤️
Yeah this is a chapter which you generally can't understand easily ... And i am also here because I wasn't able to understand this topic from other PPL and i got the reason that is visualisation may this help me in my boards finger crossed
Dominant traits are those traits which are able to express themselves in heterozygous condition Recessive traits are the one which can't express themselves in heterozygous condition. Law of segregation states that during gamete formation, alleles get separated Ratio of offsprings-1:1
Study Mandel's cross between two plants with a pair contrasting characters: RRYY. ×. rryy Round Yellow. ( Wrinkled Green) He observed four types of combination in F2 generation. Which of these were new combination? Why do new features which are not present in the parents appear in F2 generation? Answer plz 🥺
* dominant traits are the traits which express themselves in a generation whereas recessive traits are hidden and do not express themselves. * law of segregations states that when a trait is passed into a gamete , it gets separated *3:1
Yah! I can recall the question 1. Dominant traits are those that express themselves even in the presence of an alternative gene whereas recessive traits are those that can't express themselves in the presence of alternative gene 2. It is law in which the genes separate out 3. 3:1 am I right????
Khan academy!! The video is fabulous But I have a question that I am struggling with since a long time Can anyone please answer me? My question is- In genotype Tt, the letters Tt collectively represent a single gene or the letter T is a separate gene and letter t is a separate gene? And what are alleles??? If you know the answer, please help me Your one reply can clear my doubt🙏
Bro T and t are the two alleles for the charachter of height. They are like 2 varients of a same charachter. Likewise in the case of flowers Chrachter is Flower color and the alleles would be Violet and White i.e. varients of the charachter. TT, Tt and tt represent genotypes. Alleles are points on a gene which expresses certain varient of a charachter. Example, lets say we are studying the Charachter of eye color on a gene located on Chromosome 2 then the alleles would be Blue, Green, Black, Brown etc.

Answer for 3rd should be 2:2.
Yes 3rd answer is 2:2
Because, we get the traits like this
Tt,tt,Tt,tt so here we are getting 2 tall traits and 2 short traits
Hence the ratio is 2:2
Hey i think it is 1:1
As in ratio common factor is cancelled.....
