At least on your Fiesta Mark 8, the rod holds the hood high enough so you didn't whack your head on the corner of the bonnet. This is one of the very first mods I did on my Tacoma, because I suffered some dings in my melon from the bonnet not being high enough. Great video Cyd, and yes, this is a must for DIYers, and I'm pretty sure repair shops would be thankful for it too.

It just tidies up the whole underbonnet area and just makes access so much easier

Those struts look very neat and functional, far superior to the original support rod.

Aren't they just? The geometry and engineering of the hinges helps, but we're very pleased with them
A great value kit at just under 30 quid too

Thanks very much Cyd. Just ordered a pair of them and am looking forward to fitting them too. The link is much appreciated too as it's much cheaper than the Amazon price.

Easily the best channel find of the year for me, my 07 Saab 9-3 sportcombi has never been happier! Just a quick question on something, I've just recently ran into "theft protection failure: contact service" when starting the car up, and forums have led me to the culprit being my driver's side front door lock not working. General consensus has told me the actuator has gone bad, as I can lock it manually no problem, but not with my key fob (brand new batteries and every other lock works), which I'm guessing is also the cause of my alarm going off randomly if I do try locking it up (3 with the fob, 1 manually). Would the actuator be the cause?

Quite possibly. Very common on these. The switches in the latches are quite poor

@@CycloneCyd giving it a try later on this evening or tomorrow when I've got the time. I got incredibly lucky that the local pic your parts place near me just got a 9-3 of the same year so I was able to get a good list of spare parts. Hopefully this fixes things

ATTENTION. Remember to install washers underneath the bracket. They do not come in this set, but other similar sets do. Between the two screws in the car, there's a bulge in the frame. When you tighten the bracket down over the bulge, it'll actually bend slightly. I suppose you could also damage the paint underneath. While it might be minor, still.

Hi. I have a problem with my 1.2 tsi golf mk6. Sometimes it triggers a fault code P0068. It stays for a few minutes then it goes away. While i have it triggered i have no boost pressure. I have checked for leakes but couldnt find any. The map sensor looks like it works fine. And the throttle sensor matches the throttle body. Any sugestions?

Try resetting the throttle body: With the car off, push the accelerator all the way to the floor. Then turn your key to the 'on' position (do NOT start the car) and wait at least 10 seconds. Release the accelerator, then take the key out.

Hi, really enjoy your videos. Hope you don't mind me asking but it looks like you're wearing a blood sugar monitor? I've been reading a lot about the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting for T2D. If you're interested you should check out Jason Fung on RUclips. Hope you don't mind me asking. 👍

Hi Tim, no I don't mind. I'm type 1 diabetic, so insulin dependant. Yes, it's a sugar monitor - Freestyle Libre 2. Thanks
