Well no atlas struggles just as much as superman plus it changes for everyone so they struggle just as much it's not really a strength feat but ye the fact that he came back is the better feat
Well not really. If, like Percy explains in Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods, Atlas is the one guy holding up the entire sky, but since it’s “everything you can bear and more”, he can’t exactly lift it up enough to get it off him and he can’t just decide to stop supporting it, as either way the sky will fall from that point and crush the world with himself first, so he has to hold it (or find someone else to do it) or he’ll be destroyed with it.
@@cosygoose1813well i think hes pointing out the series because the series tries to explain why atlas can't drop the sky as maybe the mythology itself doesn't explain
To be fair, Atlas is a Titan, a much different breed of power compared to the gods from what I've seen over most fiction and most variations of the Greek Pantheon.
If that short glimpse of the world is what Clark saw imagine what Atlas has seen in the milenia hes supported the world. Atlas probably knew the world was in safe hands for the day so he could enjoy his daughters wedding with no worries and he also knew that the world would step up and help lighten Clarks burden just that little bit.
Superman gave Atlas the only thing he'll ever need to serve out the rest of eternity lifting the heavens: a priceless memory with his daughter. Lifting the heavens is something technically _anyone_ can do strength-wise, but it takes the strength of your heart to hold everything together. Only a select few will refuse to buckle under the pressure. Be like Clark and Atlas. Tackle the heavy weight of life with everything you have. Don't lift with all your *might,* lift with all your *spirit.*
Anyone can do it but how long can they last remember atlas hold the heaven for eternity and everyday but superman just hold for 1-5 hours and after that he got tired and need a nap.
Billy Batson did something similar. He took his place in a story where Atlas was killed. He barely held out for an hour, but it's a great feat of mental fortitude for a 10yr old boy.
This will always be the Superman I will cherish. A willingness to help anyone in need because he can and wants to. I'm glad he gave Atlas a chance to spend quality time with his daughter on her special day.
Remember He said Lift it With Your Heart so he did and the whole World 🌎 felt Supermans heart and hard work and how ppl would have a heart of gold and help others
I'm pretty sure the author has stated its both, but regardless it wouldn't be his greatest strength feat anyways. It is just something interesting that happened.
@@NathanTrubyI think the best way to put the feat into perspective would be to say that a newborn baby would be able to do it easily when a grown man would have difficulty depending on how good of a person he is.

Funfact: Even Lucifer and Dream both respect Superman especially Dream because Superman was able to give hopes and dreams to everyonebwho ever knew him so he kept Supwrman's entire existence and ever existence on a sheet of paper with him at all times. Lucifer does give Superman a high regard after meeting him once and said "of all the people who have the strongest will, you are the mortal with the strongest will" while subliminally saying it as a joke.
Actually….. he was cooking when he said you need endurance and immortality. Replace strength with heart and it would be correct. A baby could do what atlas does if it had the heart do to so
there should be more super hero stories like this. not about who would win. not about who’s right and who’s wrong. just about helping others in need. especially other heros. that’s what hero’s do.
The fact that Superman is strong enough to carry the heaven on his back just long enough for Atlas to return from his daughter's wedding is a feat so unique even for a Kryptonian. Makes you wonder if Kryptonians have a potential to become true gods in their own right.

Dumbest thing I’ve read on this video so far. The Gods use Magic. What’s Superman’s only weaknesses? Kryptonite and **Magic.** Superman can simply NEVER be on the same level as the Gods. He is a Demi-God at best. All Zeus needs to do is strike Superman with lightning and Superman will be instantly weakened. Why do you think Superman has such a difficult time against Shazam and Black Adam? They are Demi-Gods empowered by the magic of Greek Titans and Gods. A true Greek God would Smite Superman into a pile of ashes within 2 seconds.
Supes held up the skies so that Atlas could attend Calypso's wedding. Poor Calypso, fell in love with men who could never visit her island once they left. Now Leo Valdez knows not to make his lovely wife cry, because Superman is always just a holler away for Atlas to come down raining destruction onto Leo's head
You know what that symbol means on super man’s chest? Hope, that’s what keeps us from tearing each other apart. Don’t lose it. It’s why he’s able to share with god. This is actually an insanely amazing scene. Hope allows us to turn the other cheek and share. We don’t need promises or words or anything. Hope requires nothing but returns the infinite.
Idk what it is in the real greek myths but from what I have read in the Percy Jackson books (though they arent that accurate so dont take my word for it), their were 4 titans who held up 4 corners of the world before the Titans were overthrown by Gods and Atlas took their place as a punishment. I dont exactly remember their names but I'm pretty sure Iapetus (Bob, as we PJO fans know him) was one of them. I dont remember the others.

Well not really. If, like Percy explains in Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods, Atlas is the one guy holding up the entire sky, but since it’s “everything you can bear and more”, he can’t exactly lift it up enough to get it off him and he can’t just decide to stop supporting it, as either way the sky will fall from that point and crush the world with himself first, so he has to hold it (or find someone else to do it) or he’ll be destroyed with it.
percy as in Percy Jackson? You do realise that Percy Jackson is its own series. Greek mythology is very different.
@@cosygoose1813well i think hes pointing out the series because the series tries to explain why atlas can't drop the sky as maybe the mythology itself doesn't explain
@@jenniferzhang9824 So it would take at least Atlas and another Titan or God to turn the Earth into a pancake?
There's a few demigods that can hold it for him for a while.
Whatta Legend. Has a literal God forever grateful to him. Atlas would bleed for the last son of Krypton.. Pretty big flex!
this is my kind of superman. just an all-round good guy
Zeus did not think anyone could bear the weight atlas holds. His son Hercules standing there in the background like dude what the fuck
To be fair, Atlas is a Titan, a much different breed of power compared to the gods from what I've seen over most fiction and most variations of the Greek Pantheon.
@@Fowlplay141but Heracles has done it already once before when atlas tricked him
Hercules: "Dude. Who also fell for it even after reading what I went through?"
@@Fowlplay141the Titans were just were not more powerful the Greek gods they just outnumbered them so they god help from there relatives.
TBF, I remember that he did have help from a goddess as well.
Superman is the biggest bro right here
Superman's real power is just being the best person ever. I smile thinking about him. So pure!
Exactly, he's the very best qualities of humans on SUPER HGH.
Bro took a break from holding the heavens like it’s was another day on the job💀💀
Ma and Pa Kent would be _proud_ of their little alien boy. They raised him well. ❤
They're the real heroes. They raised an extraterrestrial demigod into the embodiment of everything Americans want to aspire to.
@@Thoralmir American 😂
@@shahnoormaredia5269 No, Americans, plural.
Bro... Shut up.
And like Percy Jackson ❤
Anyone can do it but how long can they last remember atlas hold the heaven for eternity and everyday but superman just hold for 1-5 hours and after that he got tired and need a nap.
Billy Batson did something similar. He took his place in a story where Atlas was killed. He barely held out for an hour, but it's a great feat of mental fortitude for a 10yr old boy.
Nice
Atlas: I'd like to shake your hand Superman but you might drop something.
Superman shifts the heavens to just his left shoulder, "put it right there bro "
Super man is the nicest person you could ever meet.😊
Atlas actually came back after tasting freedom. That’s good writing right there!
The fact that Zeus was annoyed is the best part.
This will always be the Superman I will cherish. A willingness to help anyone in need because he can and wants to. I'm glad he gave Atlas a chance to spend quality time with his daughter on her special day.
Much respect to Atlas for not leaving Superman to keep the heavens lifted.
I almost forget the Greek Gods exist in DC. It's so bizarre
Remember He said Lift it With Your Heart so he did and the whole World 🌎 felt Supermans heart and hard work and how ppl would have a heart of gold and help others
Love how people use this as a strength feat when it isn't.
Glad this video points that out.
Not like he hasn't done anything crazy
I'm pretty sure the author has stated its both, but regardless it wouldn't be his greatest strength feat anyways. It is just something interesting that happened.
Oh, it is a strength feat, just not a physical one like people keep claiming it is.
His mental strength is amazing all though physical this man still dies to a crystal so it’s definitely not a strength feat
@@NathanTrubyI think the best way to put the feat into perspective would be to say that a newborn baby would be able to do it easily when a grown man would have difficulty depending on how good of a person he is.
Superman is just so wholesome bro
Superman is the embodiment of good people that do good deeds and the "nice guys have limits when it snaps"
And there's dc always trying to f##k him up to turn him a bad guy
When someone says this character can beat superman with ease needs to remember superman held infinity
The bible says that Jesus upholds the world by the word of his power.
So he basically did what Heracles did
i don't remember the wedding part in the Greek story.
@@samankucher5117 Greek Myths Atlas is a less reasonable fellow

If the world had someone like superman maybe it would be worth living in even a fraction of the good in his heart would help this planet
No clue why people still hate on Superman. He’s just a good person and a true hero 💪🏽
he's stinky
Due to other versions of Superman(e.g. Injustice, Zack Snyder, etc.), a lot of people who are not aware about the multiverse concept thinks classic Superman and Injustice Superman are one people.
I don’t hate superman. He’s actually one of my favorite heroes. It’s his fanbase that I despise. Because they dickride his power level saying he beats anyone and everyone.
@@MattyGears1583I've been a Superman fan for almost 50 yrs. I can't stand those fans either. It's not about the Super it's about the Man.
@@IanLaurequez03 That is not it. People hate him cause he is a Gary Stu. He's been made perfect. Strenght, power, looks, morals, intelligence, etc. And that makes for a boring character.
Added to that, it is harder to relate to a perfect character as none of us are perfect
Most wholesome Greek + DC moment
Superman went Bro Mode for Atlas.
Praise be Kal-El 🤜🤛❤
Couldn’t you just stick a couple of power jacks underneath there? 😂😂😂
Funfact: Even Lucifer and Dream both respect Superman especially Dream because Superman was able to give hopes and dreams to everyonebwho ever knew him so he kept Supwrman's entire existence and ever existence on a sheet of paper with him at all times.
Lucifer does give Superman a high regard after meeting him once and said "of all the people who have the strongest will, you are the mortal with the strongest will" while subliminally saying it as a joke.
you need absolute strength & endurance and Immortality to do what atlas does.
Nah you just need heart
Actually….. he was cooking when he said you need endurance and immortality. Replace strength with heart and it would be correct. A baby could do what atlas does if it had the heart do to so
@@drculegit2849True ^^
there should be more super hero stories like this. not about who would win. not about who’s right and who’s wrong. just about helping others in need. especially other heros. that’s what hero’s do.
The fact that Superman is strong enough to carry the heaven on his back just long enough for Atlas to return from his daughter's wedding is a feat so unique even for a Kryptonian.
Makes you wonder if Kryptonians have a potential to become true gods in their own right.
It wasn't physical strength that carried the heavens it was Supermans spirit. Literally says in the vid
The writer said it was a metaphor for carrying his own burdens
I mean Superman isn't a regular kryptonian. He's a kryptonian demigod. The House of El (lit. House of Light) are descendants of the Kryptonian God of Sun, Rao
Don't be lame
I mean other versions of Supes has him bench pressing the world with one hand with relative ease so its not too surprising
Things of the world cannot REACH Heaven. Toons/Manga/Comics/Anime are things of this world. Heaven is where THE KING OF kings and LORD OF lords sits. LORD JESUS CHRIST.
If you think Atlas is a bad person, always remember he could have left superman there for eternity.
I like the idea that in order to hold up the very heavens, it doesn't take immeasurable physical strength, but an indomitable/unbreakable will.
“I bench press planets bro.”
"this needs willpower bro"
That was actually beautiful. A single tear is falling as I write this.
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
And THIS ladies and gentlemen, is why we love Supes.

I like this story. A truly HEROIC thing to do and for such a heartfelt reason...
*It annoyed Zeus coz he fought no one character has that strength until superman stepped in)*
*Zeus you might be a god superman however is greatly something else not known to you or any one on your level or beyond*
Superman is GOAT
Supes held up the skies so that Atlas could attend Calypso's wedding. Poor Calypso, fell in love with men who could never visit her island once they left. Now Leo Valdez knows not to make his lovely wife cry, because Superman is always just a holler away for Atlas to come down raining destruction onto Leo's head
"But deep in my heart I feel love so alive..."
Superman may not necessarily be the strongest being in the multiverse of DC, but in matters of Heart? The man has boundless compassion.
Imagine if they incorporated this scene on live film .. Just wow
You always gotta love to see Superman as the kind hearted individual he truly is
I’ve always wondered what held the world up before Altus I guess I’ll never know
I headcanon important pillars compromised in the Titanomarchy
Idk what it is in the real greek myths but from what I have read in the Percy Jackson books (though they arent that accurate so dont take my word for it), their were 4 titans who held up 4 corners of the world before the Titans were overthrown by Gods and Atlas took their place as a punishment. I dont exactly remember their names but I'm pretty sure Iapetus (Bob, as we PJO fans know him) was one of them. I dont remember the others.
