I've really been enjoying the new Bauer Brushless tools. I grabbed the 1/4 impact, ocsillating tool and recip saw. Just noticed they now have an SDS Plus hammer in the Bauer Brushless so I'll probably grab that too! Great to see another great video from ay Tom, keep em' coming!
Thanks for the review on the compact router. Just bought one (electric version) from Harbor Freight and having not ever used a router found your video to be of great help.
Tom, I just purchased this cordless Bauer trim router and thought I’d check to see if anyone had reviewed it, and I clicked on this video based on the thumb, and as it began to play I thought “That sounds a lot like Tom Horsman”, so I minimized the player and there was your name! I believe I’ve only ever watched your channel for grilling and smoking info, and this just opened my mind. I’m subbed from another channel, but I’ve just resolved it by subbing from here too. Well done. Scott
Nice straight forward review. I'm already in the Bauer line. I was very excited for this tool to come out. Will definitely be picking this up in the future.
Just gonna be honest. Im kinda a powertool snob. I make my living with all kinds of power tools. Milwaukee and makita and sometimes Dewalt are my go toos. However, im a very surprised with bauer and Hercules. I now have several bauer cordless tools and 0 have failed to get the job done. I have this very router in the video. It is a very solid tool. Works perfectly every time. Are they better than the big 3? No. Will they do the job? Yes, and at a fraction of the price. Just a blue collar grunts 2 cents.
If you haven’t picked up the battery adapters so you can run your big brand batteries in the Bauer I highly recommend it. My Bauer stuff runs even better with Milwaukee batteries.
12ah batteries would be best with this. I have 8 of the 5ah batteries and a single 5ah battery will only do around 32ft of straight cuts. The 5ah starts to loose power after around 12ft. And starts to turn itself off after 26ft. Then again I’m pushing mine. Im using a straight cut bit cutting a 1/2” deep and 3/8” wide cut with the grain.
I just got one for Christmas. I haven't actually used it just yet. I have seen some pretty decent reviews of it on other channels here on RUclips. P.S. I got the corded one, because I didn't want to invest in another "battery platform".....I already own a lot of DeWalt battery power tools.
@TomHorsman Your review is the first I've seen on the cordless. I like all the features and the price. My only question is; can it run 'til the battery is on E and not overheat? Not planning on hogging out material, but would like to know how it's performed over some duration. I like the simple, strait forward review. Thanks
I have a question that may sound very simple to you but I was wondering if this is meant to be used by hand only or can it be attached to a table? If by hand only, was their any guide attachment on the bit end when you were routing the board? I am competent with power tools but have never used a router.
Thanks for watching David! I’ve never seen a smaller router used with a router table, doesn’t mean that it can’t be done. You would need to build your own

Thanks for Watching Gary! Wow! Haven’t had any issues
There are a few reviews on the site warning about them getting too hot to even hold after ~10min of light use.
Thanks for Watching! Haven’t had that issue
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQHopefully not a very common issue. Scrounging up for an 80% lower jig. So figured I might check what affordable routers.
Hi thanks for the review! I’m looking for a portable cordless. Bauer looks great!

I just bought this and realized a lot of my tooling is 3/8”. So you know if there is any sort of replacement collets that work for this?
Thanks for watching Dylan! Not sure
Can you put a collar on the cordless Bauer router?
Not sure
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Actually, I meant to ask if a TEMPLATE GUIDE fits on the Bauer cordless router?
@joeblow1942 Ok thanks for the clarification , it does, however I’ve never used it
What do you think about it being a square compared to a round with your corded Bauer
Thanks for Watching! Didn’t really notice a difference
have you tried using a jasper jig on this?
Thanks for watching! I have not
Great review, thank you
