Thanks for answering my question! I love watching this show every Sunday 😁
No problem buddy! I’m glad you’re enjoying the show. That’s all I can hope for and thanks for the great questions.
found a new channel I like! John, I can already tell we have a lot in common with how much respect you have for The Night of the Hunter
Thanks for checking out the video! The Night of the Hunter is one of those special films with incredible cinematography.
C'mon Poltergiest 2!!! So excited for that drop!
That’s one I can’t wait to see on 4k
Silverado is fantastic it's so much fun.
It’s a blast! I want that on 4K one day.
Btw, Lionsgate is my favorite physical media label and all their releases have top notch video, audio and bonus materials😎
They always do a good job. I should have gave them a bigger shout out. The packaging is always top notch. They really have seen the benefits of committing to physical media too.
TERMINATOR 2 is also said to be being worked on too!
I’ve heard the rumors and i’ve got my fingers crossed.
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia It can't get worse. No way! Has there ever been a 4k redone that got worse?
@ricogomez4020 I don’t think there is a worse one.
I am hyped for Bill and Ted trilogy coming to 4K they better be good and extars too
I hope so! They did a good job with the first one so i’m expecting the same!
I just bought the Blu-ray version of Jaws III and Jaws the Revenge. There's a zero percent chance I'll buy the upcoming 4K versions of the films.
I was actually surprised they are getting a 4K release 😱
Looking forward to Navy SEALs on 4K.
I don’t own them so this will be my first time lol. I guess they actually wanted to complete the collection but they’re not the most popular movies lol.
I would rather they put the effort into something else lol.
@JedEckert Loll so would I.
Best transfers overall is a tough one but you are right Criterion 4k & blu-ray sound is eh.
Dude!, Criterion does have their own sales in October! I think KINO, SHOUT! have the best sales it all comes down to what movies they have.
I mean the 50% off sale. They have other sales but their most known sales are through Barnes. Kino is great too.
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia I'm pretty sure B&N don't carry every Criterion though.
POLTERGEIST 4k I was disappointed with the transfer and I'm sure POLTERGEIST 2 from SHOUT! will look better.
I actually liked that transfer. 2 should look great but I do remember some bad looking scenes lol
80s' Eddie Murphy for IRON MAN? So, Burt Reynolds for BLACK PANTHER?
Loll well that wouldn’t make sense.
BILL & TED 3 was WOKE garbage. Looked like a CW tv show or worse a 90s' syndicated tv show.
I’ll agree with how it looked but The movie it self I thought was great! Better than Bogus Journey.
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia A lot of critics like BOGUS JOURNEY. I don't.
SUDDEN DEATH is a good DIE-HARD type movie.
It’s pretty much die hard at a hockey game lol
Thanks for another great video. I'm excited for the Bill and Ted boxset. I have it pre-ordered. Shout should do a three TMNT 4k movie boxset
Thanks buddy I appreciate it and i’m glad you enjoyed it! I’m hoping we get that TMNT box set. I’m guessing next year. At least I hope so.
I will look into NARC.
I’ll have a full review of that this week.
I like your Top 10 Westerns and didn’t know you’re such a big fan of Spaghetti Western, John! I’d place Sergio Corbucci as the 2nd greatest SW director to Sergio Leone with Django, The Great Silence and The Mercenary as my Top 3 from him. I grew up watching Westerns and playing my plastic toy cowboys & Indians, so I can talk about this genre all day lol. Gene Hackman’s Little Bill in Unforgiven is one of my favorite villains of all time, and it cracks me up every time when he’s talking to the biographer of English Bob (The Duke of Death) and insists calling him “The Duck of Death”, and that guy ends up being Bill’s biographer after Bob leaves town😂
I would say Spaghetti westerns overall are my favorite of the westerns lol. I’ve always enjoyed the dirtiness and grittiness of those. The old west look a like a horrible place to live in those movies. Little Bill was great and I love that when as he’s dying he can’t understand that’s he’s dying. I was building a house loll.
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia I consider the 60s and 70s
Zatoichi and Lone Wolf & Cub films as the Spaghetti Westerns of Samurai flicks (Chanbara), which depicts that Japanese period similar to the old west with the same grittiness and bloodletting violence. They kinda evolve similarly from Akira Kurosawa’s samurai flicks as John Ford to Spaghetti westerns. Very nice Criterion sets that you should pick up, John!
I will grab it in the next sale. Samurai and westerns have always been side by side. If anything westerns kept blowing from Samurai films. I think what makes them so great is the attention to characters and development. It always makes the third act pay off.
I don't understand how anyone can love THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER.
I love that movie so much loll
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia Have you seen the movie THE APOSTLE with Robert Duvall or ELMER GANTRY with Burt Lancaster? Better movies same topic.
It’s not the topic I love it’s really the cinematography and the lead performance
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia Oh.
What makes The Night of the Hunter so memorable is it’s a story with a clear distinction between good and evil for a film noir. You feel pure innocence with the kids, John and Pearl, placed in the looming shadow of pure evil as the Preacher preys on the sanctity of their Christian community. The religious subtext of this film is so black and white and well conveyed by the visuals.
