I like the thin vein lines too, a graceful maybe playful invitation for the pencil to come back to play with the watercolor, and the paper. Lovely Kelly!
Magical. I enjoy seeing a re-do because often I move on too quickly from something that didn’t work out like I thought it should. The art should be studied, re-thought, and then tried again. Great encouragement.
The first one was okay but I actually love the results of this one. Glad you found it helpful to study your own art and make changes, additions or even subtractions. It is the power of being an artist, we have all the control and freedom to explore as we wish, enjoy it!
Really love your process and composition decisions! Makes me want to make a version of this. And I love the pinkish tones you added to some of the petals -- makes them look hydrangea-like and therefore more eye-catching. Please do more projects similar to this.
What a wonderful video!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I love this painting so much more than the previous one, partly because you happened to use my absolute favourite colour scheme, but also I find that this one has more subtleties … I think that it possibly gets the viewer to engage more because of the subtleties and invites closer inspection. I really admire your narration on this one, too! It is great to hear your thought process and also all of the tips and tricks (eg, about using values and contrast ). Well done, Kelly - I would love some more videos like this. I think it is really interesting and valuable to see an artist redo an artwork and see why and how they change things 😊😊😊
This demo was fascinating! I've not seen anything like this before. While I generally am not attracted to abstract art per se... I think I would like to try something like this...but I don't have any granulated watercolors...just amazing!
This took my breath . Away. So beautiful. I am going there try. The previous one I also love. But this brings me back to autumn walks and how beautiful it was
I loved both of these paintings and, as always, your guidance was outstanding in both. As I live in a country that makes it prohibitively expensive to have the Apricot colour shipped to me, so I greatly appreciated the colour mixing you recommended to create it on my own. Now my 2024 palette is complete! Keep being you Kelly. You are a creative breath of fresh air and I am ever grateful for how generously you share it with all of us.
Thank you so much for introducing me to the bird book and enjoying it through your vision and exercises. Purchased the book and eager to try your exercises for watercolor. I hope I have that stencil in my stashes. ❤
New visit to your space. Love what you do. I don’t see the stencil in your supplies list. Can you offer more info about the manufacturer or where to get it, please?
yr tutes are like watching a conductor shape an orchestra, sprinklers spinning rainbows thru the sunlight... using gouache, inktense, Albrecht durer & markers even without yr amazing color wheel, helps me look at ingredients and see them merge together before reaching the paper... ii watch the trees outside my window shapeshift greens & golds differently with yr perspectives... you don't toot yr own horn much, but yr views are often mozartian in harmonies... well done...
OMGoodness, you have filled my imagination with such beautiful images and your kind words have brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for being part of this creative community!!!
So pretty and I agree that the discovery as your eye wanders over the painting is delightful.
Thank you so much, I love creating movement within my compositions!
Loved this and so enjoyed watching you work and hearing your comments as you progressed. Would like to see more.
Thank you for following along in my process, I loved sharing it with you!
I agree that the second painting is more interesting. And, yes, I would love to see more videos like this
Thank you for letting me know, I really appreciate it, thanks!
3am, UK, sleepless night, but absolutely LOVING this 😁🥰🇬🇧
So happy that I could keep you company this morning :)
Love this approach! Beautiful.
Thank you so much for joining me!

Thank you so much, it was a detail I really wanted to show on this lighter piece!

Glad you enjoyed it, thank you! Granulating watercolors aren't necessary, just splatter more to get the same effect. Hope you give it a try.

You are so kind Denise, thank you! I hope it does inspire you to get into your sketchbook just to play and experiment.
Love them both Kelly. Love “seeing” how you think! I’d enjoy seeing more.
Thanks so much Teresa, I loved sharing the process with you!

Oh, I'm so glad the Naples Yellow hint worked to complete your palette YEAH! Thank you for your kind comments, they really touched my heart today!
This is so cute, a gorgeous aesthetic ☺☺
Ahhh, thanks Chantelle!
Wow, I love the way your mind works. So creative.
You are too kind, thank you!
Love the colors in this design and enjoyed listening to you work out the layout.
Thank you, I tried to talk aloud for my process!

You are welcome and glad I could introduce you to finding inspiration in unlikely places!
Kelly! I don't need another obsession, but you've got me wanting to buy stencils! 🤑😂
I have a small, curated set of stencils that I absolutely love. They are just waiting for the moment I want a little unexpected detail in my work.
Lovely painting. Enjoy watching the processs, learning.
I'm so glad you found it informative and hope you will give it a try!
Love it ❤❤❤❤tfs
Thank you so much!
lovely
Thank you!
So pretty and unique.
This one feels more like me and I have enjoy the journey, thanks for watching!
I was fascinated by this one. It's so soft, I'd do something like this for a background to portrait of a child, cat, etc.
I'm so excited to hear that, thank you! I totally agree it would make a lovely background.
I love this one! I really like the colors you chose.
Thank you so much, my studio palette has been very inspiring this year!
Love this!!! More please ❤
I will do my best to keep adding some of this abstraction to my painting repertoire, thank you!
This was fun to watch and it's beautiful! Yes, I would enjoy seeing more videos like this.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
I love your work and colors ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊
Thank you so much, appreciate your feedback!
I love that, both pieces ❤
Thank you. They turned out so different even though I was using the same inspiration.
New visit to your space. Love what you do. I don’t see the stencil in your supplies list. Can you offer more info about the manufacturer or where to get it, please?
The stencil is a really, really old one from The Crafter's Workshop. Any stencil will do, use what you have on hand.
I saw one that's similar to this on Teemu. The difference is the numbers are the negative space. ❤
Love this piece where did you get the number stencil
It is a really, really old stencil from The Crafter's Workshop.
Love the technique. Where did you get the numbers stencil?
Thank you. The stencil is really, really old and by The Crafter's Workshop.
